Our decision to say 'fvck it, we're down anyway if we don't win'.

The only reason we were in the shit was because of our negativity and we could not have survived without deciding to go out and attack teams from the start.

I just can't agree with this.

I don't think Pearson is the type to just go gung-ho.

I simply think he learnt his best formation, just in time.

Completely this for me. Pearson started playing to the strengths of his players again.

It isn't about formation it's about style. Certainly the formation we are playing with now suits the individuals we have very well but any formation can be very attacking or very defensive. A formation is only starting positions. Player roles and movement from those positions are far more important.

For me it was how the whole team was set up, Formation, players, never give in persona, players attitude, some decent experience in all 3 sectors....seems a very good team ethic at LCFC and all of these combine along with a half decent manager has turned it around.

unlike burnley who I see just still had the same attitude as in the championship and QPR who are just full of journeymen

Have to disagree as I recall numerous games where we were far from negative but came away empty handed. That is not to say there were not games when we really should have gone for it a bit more, however the Managers task was to keep us up which he achieved for which he deserves great credit, don't you agree??

I think our season changed at half time at the Hawthorns.

First half we were utterly rank.

Second half, we looked a different side and have looked a different side since.

The Vardy winner, in my mind, heralded the major turning point of our season

Not only for the three points....but for CONFIDENCE.

If you were there, the fans felt it, the players felt it and suddenly the chant changed from 'you are going down' (Baggies fans) to 'we are staying up'.

That goal was priceless and a major reason, I think, for us all going so mental at the end.

There was something in the air that afternoon...a feeling that we could actually do this.

I believe Vardy's goal will, given time, put him into Leicester City folklore AND I say that with all sincerity.

I agree entirely, Vardy's goal was pivotal and definitely the moment I thought we could do it, great day out I'll remember for a long time!

perhaps the turning point was when the players witnessed a cut throat gesture from a member of press?

Basically we changed from trying not to lose matches, instead trying to win them. We stopped being in awe of the Premier league.

After Spurs away game I met Marcin Wasilewski in St Pancras station he stopped to talk for a good 3 minutes, I said I'm a Leicester fan he apologised saying how fustrating it was playing well and not getting the wins, he seemed genuinely gutted to have lost. I said some nonsense about his tackling getting the crowd going. Anyway from then on we won 6/7.

you.

are.

welcome.

Gonna be a cop out and state the obvious by saying its a mixture of everything. None of those things wouldve been any use without all the rest of them too.

Kasper coming back and Huth/Was in for Upson changed the most about us though I think.

This stuff about just starting to attack is wrong for me, we'd attacked before and got nothing from games. Liverpool games, Palace game, Spurs games, Arsenal game, QPR. We just found a formation that let us attack without leaving ourselves wide open, as we had been previously. Along with the addition of Huth who has clearly been exceptional and made us more solid. Who would have dream we'd keep so many clean sheets?

Yes the shit or bust attitude probably turned draws (West Brom & West Ham) into wins, but earlier in the season we probably wouldn't have even been in the position to draw those games.

There have been some big factors and lots of small ones that have come together to make it happen.

I agree with this. The Everton, Arsenal, Liverpool or Totenham game could easily have gone our way but we didn't have that moment of luck/taking our chances. The West Ham game was another one that could easily have had the same story. Played well and didn't win. BUT we got that moment of luck for me. The scuffed Vardy shot falling at the feet of King who stroked it home. That was a real scrappy goal which we needed and we haven't looked back since then. We have attacked in more games this season than we have not, but we are only starting to take our chances and scoring goals, which has come partly from momentum and confidence. If we had a compliation of the clear cut chances we have missed, it would be a fairly long video.

Pearson never letting heads drop and keeping fantastic morale throughout our lengthy spell at the bottom with so long without a win.

Unbelievable really.

Avoiding morale-sapping thrashings playing 5 at the back.

Knowing that if we were in touch and morale was high coming into the final quarter of the season we would have a chance

Aside from that the addition of Huth cut out the sloppiness at the back so that our reasonably good attacking play had a good base to build on and become very good attacking play

The formation suits us very well indeed and get a the beat out of the players, wonder if we'd have started the season with it that we'd have been sussed out and have no where to turn?

I do agree with that but there have been some occasions where we've failed to take that mentality. I also think lining up in a 5-4-1 was unbelievably negative and absolutely bizarre.

Undoubtedly there were games, whether it being wrong formation, or wrong player mentality that meant we weren't attacking enough.

But I just don't think it as simple as we attacked for once and won games. We'd tried before and it hadn't worked.

Like I said I think there are lots of little factors and a few big ones like Huth and the formation change.

Huth.

Our downfall all season has been our poor organisation at the back leading to very simple and avoidable goals conceded.

We've looked genuinely superb at the back recently and it's a shame Wasyl, Huth and Morgan are coming close to the end of their careers because they've been in the sort of form that gets sides like us into Europe.

5 clean sheets out of 6 and 3 in a row. Only conceding to the Champions (whom we kept at bay for 75 odd minutes, even without Huth).

We've been a bit bloody good recently and i'm proud as punch.

Quite simply Huth closely followed by the 3-5-2 formation.

Throughout the season Morgan couldnt concentrate on his own performance as he always had to keep an eye on his partner resulting in Morgan throwing his body left right and centre trying to cover to much space. Individual mistakes were happening too often and mostly in defence.

Bringing in Huth was a masterstroke. A more than competent defender which allowed Morgan to focus completely on his own performance. Morgans 2nd half of the season has been brilliant compared to the 1st half.

Having a solid backline allows our midfielders to again focus on their passing and attacking play knowing that defensive duties are covered.

4-4-2 was a waste of time as Schluup is wasted at LB and Simpson is just doggo. Going with 3 centre backs and wingbacks allowed Morgan to be even more comfortable especially with Huth and Wasyl in the team. Lets not forget that Wasyl has been brilliant when he has played and hasnt put a foot wrong imo. This also allowed Schluup to use his attacking ability more often and was a pathway for Albrighton to get into the side ahead of Mahrez.

Vardy has played really well but our attacking play would never have come about without our defensive problems being addressed. Now we have a formation that works for us our number 1 priority in the transfer window is to sign Huth on a permanent deal.
