Buce Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 I think that Liverpool look pretty good and play some nice football. Swansea haven't succumbed yet so neither will be easy. We can go to both grounds with confidence, though. These are the teams we should look to be getting results against if we are to compete for a Champions' League spot.
steveherbe Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Why do I see Klopp and think Dame Edna Everage?
HighPeakFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Why do I see Klopp and think Dame Edna Everage? This is so on the money
Corky Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 All of whom we beat away from home So, from the matches Arsenal played this month where they picked up 2 points, we managed seven from the equivalent. Maybe they just tried harder against Arsenal?
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Arsenal get more injuries to yet more important players, and guess who they are playing next? Sunderland. They always get the rub of the green and must be the luckiest team in the PL. Don't like large sections of their fans, or their style of football either - really hope they go down!!
Happy Fox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Fantastic weekend for us in terms of other results.
Buce Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 So, from the matches Arsenal played this month where they picked up 2 points, we managed seven from the equivalent. Maybe they just tried harder against Arsenal? Or maybe we're more consistant?
Dan Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Arsenal struggling to beat another "not difficult fixture" side. West Ham, West Brom and now Norwich. Thought the exact same. I'm slowly but surely being convinced we'll get a European place.
ScouseFox Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 still being cautiously optimistic but starting to agree, top 6 is a genuine aim from now on surely. if europa league goes down to 7th place we've got a huge shout. still be tough with the "traditional" top 6 and then everton and southampton, but we've given ourselves a riiight shot.
Dan Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 We've just got to hope Man City bag the League Cup. They should do but it'd be just our luck that we finish 7th after they go and lose the final to someone like Stoke. Liverpool or Everton would be beneficial but those two could become two of our biggest rivals this season. Our last two games of the season could be massive.
Corky Posted 29 November 2015 Posted 29 November 2015 Or maybe we're more consistant? I do think we've shown real qualities, especially in away games, that top sides show. Whether it lasts the season remains to be seen but so far you can't ask a lot more from our away matches. Thought the exact same. I'm slowly but surely being convinced we'll get a European place. Would be frustrated to finish lower than 8th at the moment.
Dan Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Our away performances, the last two in-particular, have been excellent. Well managed and fully deserved victories. We do have a horrible tendency to let one mistake creep in though and make it hard for ourselves, but I don't feel we've been particularly lucky in any away game this season, maybe Bournemouth aside as we were pretty bad that day.
Hollism Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 The only one that comes to mind is the debatable penalty we got at Norwich, but I'd never go as far as say we were lucky to win that game.
MC Prussian Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Alan Hutton scored his third own goal in the Premier League; the only Scottish player to score more is Colin Hendry (4). One down, two to go... C'mon, Alan! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34887526
davieG Posted 30 November 2015 Author Posted 30 November 2015 The Premier League starts again on Saturday, with Chelsea defending the title they won by eight points last season. Who will win it this time? We asked 30 BBC TV and radio pundits, presenters and commentators for their one-two-three-four prediction ahead of the new campaign, and for an explanation of their selection. Wymsey Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I wouldn't rule out us or Spurs to be in top 4/5 at the end. I'm not keen on these 'pundit' predictions, as they all have differing and broad opinions.
Len Finsbury Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 One down, two to go... C'mon, Alan! http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/34887526 The record for the most own goals by a scotsman? They keep records for anything nowadays.
Jimothy Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I wouldn't rule out us or Spurs to be in top 4/5 at the end. I'm not keen on these 'pundit' predictions, as they all have differing and broad opinions. You don't like a group of people having broad opinions? So you'd rather all the BBC pundits thought the same. That'd make MOTD extra shit.
Corky Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 I wouldn't rule out us or Spurs to be in top 4/5 at the end. I'm not keen on these 'pundit' predictions, as they all have differing and broad opinions. The first six listed have exactly the same order
Jimothy Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 The first six listed have exactly the same order Also apart from Dion Dublin, they all have the same 4 teams
Corky Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Ryan Bennett is seriously lucky that Sanchez wasn't injured when he shoved him into the camera and the pit it was in yesterday. He was off the pitch and it was a cowardly thing to do.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 30 November 2015 Posted 30 November 2015 Why the hell have Norwich got those deathtrap pits anyway? It must be quite tempting though, seeing someone drifting towards a pit with a funny little cameraman in there, see if they want to spend a bit of quality time together. Go on, give him a nudge
