Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 I just watched Wenger's press conference and the man has lost the plot. He is so condescending towards the Arsenal supporters, treating them like mugs and being so patronising. How can he blame the fans for his team being so dreadful this season. He refuses to acknowledge the huge unrest at the club and refuses to take responsibility for his underperforming side. Yep - it was like throwing fuel on the flames. Arsenal's been going backwards for a while now but Arsene thinks he can deflect that by saying the fans are partly to blame - conveniently ignoring the fact that the unrest started to happen AFTER they started to drop out the title race. If he stays I'm pleased though. I don't have massive expectations for next year but think we'll finish above them if he stays. Serial underachievers.
LCFCJV Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 He'll be on his way as soon as PSG or Barca come calling (obviously). Not that Spurs fans will care if he can get them some silverware and back-to-back Champions League finishes in the next 12 months.. I think Poch has higher ambitions than the French League. If and when he does leave Tottenham it won't be to PSG.
Langston Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 . I think Poch has higher ambitions than the French League. If and when he does leave Tottenham it won't be to PSG. He played for and captained PSG - you're guaranteed wedge, you'll probably get an unreal haul of silverware and it won't do your profile as a manager any harm whatsoever. All that whilst living in Paris. A few years ago I'd have perhaps agreed but given their recent (relative) success in Europe they're a project I think he'd be keen on - to take them into the bracket of Atletico / Barca / Real / Bayern.
ARM1968 Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Of course he'll leave Tottenham. He is without doubt the brightest and most talented young manager in football - that I know of. He's destined for big things. Tottenham are a stepping stone to those things.
LCFCJV Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Utterly cringeworthy and small-time. We're the only set of fans who can laugh at Spurs this season. I can't stand Spurs fans but this is a bit embarrassing really. Chelsea are midtable FFS.. Especially from a club that had hardly won anything and were far behind Spurs on the honours list before Abramovich.
weller54 Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 If Everton lose to Bournemouth on Saturday, Martinez will be gone!.. Perhaps they'll be Managerless when they play us?
Jimothy Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Yes I know 'how it works'. Just saying I though it was so namby-pamby that it didn't deserve a 3 game ban. Couldn't give a fvck tbh as it helps us a wee bit. If you think the strength of the punch should determine the length of the ban you clearly don't know how it works. A punch is punch, doesn't matter how strong the person throwing it is.
LCFCJV Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 If Everton lose to Bournemouth on Saturday, Martinez will be gone!.. Perhaps they'll be Managerless when they play us? . Or have a new manager in time for our game which won't be good.
weller54 Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 . Or have a new manager in time for our game which won't be good. Doubtful.. They'll probably take their time and appoint in the close season.
LCFCJV Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Of course he'll leave Tottenham. He is without doubt the brightest and most talented young manager in football - that I know of. He's destined for big things. Tottenham are a stepping stone to those things. By that token we will lose our best players this summer despite being champions. Why would they leave if they're happy and in a successful club. If he stayed a few years and started winning things there why would he be desperate to leave? it's not like they're a small club, and about to move into a 60,000 seater stadium.
STUHILL Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Poch will take over at Real Madrid once they get bored of Zidane after not winning every game 10-0... I think he should stay at Spurs for a long time though. New stadium, exciting young team, money to spend. No brainer, rather than hopping on the merry go round of sackings that happen at the super clubs like Madrid. I like him. One of the classier managers in the Prem even though he tried a couple of mind games with us, but who wouldn't in his position. (Claudio maybe)

Tottenham are a stepping stone to those things. I'd be surprised if he didn't leave spuds if PSG came in. He has publicly stated he dreams to manage them. Guaranteed to be in C/L every season, and most probably win the French league every season too. He might not achieve C/L on a regular basis at spuds and if they don't pip us for the P/L this year they may find it even harder next year. No question he is talented though, he's shown that at both Southampton and spuds. hope he leaves, as the longer tottingham don't win anything, the happier I'll be. I agree he's using spuds as a stepping stone to a proper big club, not a pretend one.
LCFCJV Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Winning the French League with PSG is about as glorious as winning the SPL with Celtic. He won't leave Spurs for at least two years and they are a big club to anyone who knows football history.
Koke Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Chelsea are a bigger club than Tottenham and if Chelsea wanted Poch they could get him.

He won't leave Spurs for at least two years and they are a big club to anyone who knows football history. I don't know why I'm responding to this given you've just put the PSG gig on a parallel with Celtic - but just winning the league won't be his remit there, it'll be to crack Europe. PSG are bigger and better than a lot of clubs in this country; they have obscene amounts of cash, can offer a lifestyle in one of the world's best cities and are already well enough along to only need a few tweaks here or there to be pushing into that elite bracket. History has very little relevance when a manager is making a move for the good of their career in the present day.
NewEnglandFox Posted 29 April 2016 Posted 29 April 2016 Wenger: Away from home we are Championship winners. 7 less points having played an extra away game. Ok Arsene....

I was at the Emirates in Feb where we lost 2-1, I was shocked by the lack of atmosphere, and the lack of support and encouragement from their fans. They only cheered and got behind their team when they scored.

LCFCJV Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 Chelsea are bigger than spurs. Alot bigger.. No they're not. They're a plastic club with plastic fans who have had bought recent success but were much smaller than Arsenal and Spurs before that. So you telling me if Wigan were bought by some billionaire who splashed ridiculous cash on the best players and they went on a 10 year winning spree that they'd be a bigger club than us?
st albans fox Posted 30 April 2016 Posted 30 April 2016 . No they're not. Someone on Twitter told me that we are the Wigan of the midlands yesterday?? Apparently cos we are a rugby city?? soooo ignorant.

No I'm saying Chelsea are bigger than spurs because they are. They might not always have been but right now they are. They weren't exactly unheard of minnows either when they were taken over. Constantly finishing 5th-3rd for a number of years while spurs sat comfortably mid table. If trophies are all that matter as that's what your whole argument is then they still aren't bigger now wether Chelsea are funded by oil money or not

But they were quite a bit behind Spurs on the honours list before Abramovich and they certainly aren't better supported. This fawning over plastic Chelsea I can only imagine is because they've said they want us to win the league, which is more because of their hatred for Spurs than any love for us. You can guarantee if it was them in the title race with us we'd be hating them as much as Spurs. And I reckon if it was a Spurs v Chelsa race any other season we'd be on Spurs' side.
