I am glad that the majority of us have seem to all be singing from the same hymn sheet when we say these idiots should have the book thrown at them. I do not care if these men are footballers, rugby players, cricketers, doctors, teachers - whatever their profession, what they have done is completely abhorrent. No one should ever subject someone to that level of discrimination. Nor should anyone publicly humiliate them in said fashion. I am in my early 20s and I am self employed. Firstly, I wouldn't be so stupid to do this and turning matters around, should I discover anyone I work with have such strong held views against people of a different ethnicity, I would never work with them again. I find racism completely vile and shows the small mindedness of some people in this world. I hope that Vichai, Aiyawatt and anyone else in a level of seniority at our club makes an example out of these morons and despite sometimes being a critic of him and his footballing decisions, to Nigel, I feel ever so sorry for you and your wife in light of these events. You deserve much better. Disgraceful.

"Pending the outcome of an internal investigation, the Club will make no further comment."

Would that cast a different light on it? By the players filming; it suggests they're proud of the racism and abuse.

There is nothing illegal or contract breaking about having an orgy with your mates. People will talk about misogyny but there are plenty of women who enjoy that kind of experience in the bedroom. Some people may not agree with the morals of it but these lads haven't done anything that stands out as being instant dismissal territory.

They have to prepare a statementand possibly consult lawyers regarding any action they take. Just saying they cannot rush out a statement based on a knne jerk reaction. Thats the job of lynch mobs. My initial reaction is to say they have been stupid and have no place at the club and I doubt if my mind will change but we still have to hear from the players themselves who will now be deeply ashamed of their actions and any statement from the club will need to includ this. It will be harder on Pearson as he will have to treat all three equally in his role as a manager. How he deals with it as a father is different. I hope Pearson Jnr realises this.

Can't see how many more facts need establishing. All 3 are seen on video and heard making the comments. It's pretty clear cut. The club have to take a stand here and sack these utter prats! They can be seen to condone or accept this conduct by letting them off with a fine or a small ban.
Bryn Posted 31 May 2015 Posted 31 May 2015 I'm trying to imagine what the reaction would be if the three players involved were Vardy, Sclupp and James for example because I think a lot of people's reaction is being influenced by who it is that's involved and how good they are at football which is wrong. Looking at this objectively the three's biggest crime is probably just stupidity but it's a pretty disgusting video. For me the worst thing is that this has all happened on a trip paid for by the owners. If this had emerged from Magaluf or somewhere similar it would be bad but not as disastrous as this. I think this will hurt the owners a lot. Thailand is a country and culture where honour and integrity is paramount and these three idiots have degraded a Thai girl for their own amusement on a trip that the owners had funded. The question of who the girl is hasn't been asked yet either as I wouldn't be surprised if it was a prostitue which would only be another element to this farce. Sack all three. Not because they're not very good but because it's the best way to kill this story, because they've damaged the reputation of the club here and in Thailand and because it would hopefully restore some good faith in the owners if the decision is taken by NP and not by themselves. Just when you thought footballers couldn't get any more stupid. There are several steps along the way here when they could/should have realised the implications this could have. Time for them to learn that lesson in the aftermath now though. Think the owners are more valuable to us than any of our key players, to be honest.

If it's consented and boundaries established, then it's fine. Thailand's economy would near enough collapse without the sex industry and to suggest otherwise is being an ostrich. I also don't see anything wrong with derogatory language during sex (admittedly haven't seen the video) but I think you'll find it's common in sexual encounters these days to call a girl a dirty girl, bitch, whore etc during sex. It's certainly very prevalent in mainstream free internet porn which these 3 lads have probably grown up watching. Again, this isn't necessarily a good thing at all or something I agree with, but it's typical of modern society. HOWEVER having said all that, the racism is indefensible, and filming it is just asking for trouble and was really stupid of them. The biggest problem I have with this is the negative impact this incident will have with the club's image both at home and in Thailand, and how much it may insult and offend the owners. As players for our club on a tour in the host country, you can't treat it like a lad's holiday, there should have been a sense of duty and morality to behave.
