Vicki Vixen Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Isn't Bentleys the name of that building overlooking Filbert Street? Always remember people watching the games from a nearby rooftop. Apologies if I'm a tad slow here. Nah mate, must be a coincidence.
Guest WarehamFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Oh...... And foxestalk has no negativity what's so ever!!!! What a shit thread Not saying that! But let's enjoy the good times and not be like them and turn everything negative. I have been a City fan since 81! I know things ain't that bad! Things looking good and I'm buzzing for next season!
fantastic_mr_fox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 can't see anything on there criticising this place - can't see the point of this thread. They are city fans - like us lot on here.
Finnegan Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 They have some good threads about old away games and pubs and that. The way everyone calls Pearson NFP is downright weird though. If that's their version of dont; it's a bit tragic. I see that quite a bit on here as well. I'm going to put my hand up and admit I've never understood why that's even a thing. I don't even know what it stands for, I assume it's Nigel-****ing-Pearson but I could very easily be wrong (and probably am.) It strikes me as the sort of completely unfunny thing that sphericalfox would come up with.
Mark_w Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 can't see anything on there criticising this place - can't see the point of this thread. They are city fans - like us lot on here. We get it, you like Bentleys Roof.
Finnegan Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 We get it, you like Bentleys Roof. At the end of the day, so? We've got enough ****ing retards on here that we really shouldn't be cobbing bricks around this big glass house. I mean, Jesus ****ing Christ, can you imagine all of us getting judged by the standards of Col City Fan and kingfox if some part-time reader is just casually browsing this place? Or Lamby? The thought alone makes me want to log off, delete my account and commit ritual seppuku.

yorkie1999 Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Isn't Bentleys the name of that building overlooking Filbert Street? Always remember people watching the games from a nearby rooftop. Apologies if I'm a tad slow here. Here's a boring fact, engelbert humperdinck used to work there.
Livid Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I read BR quite a bit. I used to post on the old foxfanzine site and BR retains the 'spirit' of that place. I don't know where the racist / nasty stereotypes come from, there are a couple of twats but I'd say there is probably just as much (if not more) dubious stuff on here to be honest. There are some funny posters on there and they don't take themselves too seriously. If BR is like a load of miserable twats at a pub, foxestalk can be a bit sixth-form debating club at times. And I like the layout, old skool innit. Biggest problem with Bentleys is that there are a couple of posters who are convinced they're genius coaches in waiting and they arrogantly insist on taking a contrary view from the 'happy clappers' just to prove what sound football minds they have. If you read the board you'll know who I'm talking about. The stubbornness over Pearson is downright comical at times. I'm not his biggest fan but comparing him to McLintock..?!? We seem to be obsessed with BR, more so than they are with us. f you don't like that site don't browse it. Pretty much this. Post on both, but agree about the layout on BR, could be better.
lestajigs Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 We get it, you like Bentleys Roof. Whats not to like about it then?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I never heard of it, but went to check the site and the layout kinda reminds me of the old BBC articles you can find from like pre 06. It's vile as hell
Brooksy Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Whats not to like about it then? but the layout. christ the layout. unforgiveable.
Guest WarehamFox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 can't see anything on there criticising this place - can't see the point of this thread. They are city fans - like us lot on here. Well you should look a little harder. There are so many on Bentleys who criticise the positivity on FoxesTalk, it's there so open your eyes. But you are obviously an ostrich!!! He He
Mark_w Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Whats not to like about it then? It's a toss up between the football discussions (http://www.fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=819564) and the political debates (http://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=751529) At the end of the day, so? We've got enough ****ing retards on here that we really shouldn't be cobbing bricks around this big glass house. I mean, Jesus ****ing Christ, can you imagine all of us getting judged by the standards of Col City Fan and kingfox if some part-time reader is just casually browsing this place? Or Lamby? stockyfox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I used to contribute to Bentley's quite regularly and enjoyed reading many of the threads. I have to say that there are (or maybe with the passage of time - were some genuinely nice folk -salt of the earth and I had the pleasure of meeting up with some of them on different occasions. There was (is) a great sense of camaraderie on Bentley's and there are a handful of 'larger than life' characters who seem to provide the four cornerstones of the group. I would add that to my mind, there was in general a lot more humour contained in the threads on Bentley's than Foxes Talk. As for the allegation that Bentley's members 'slag off' Foxes Talk, that's not much different to Foxes fans slagging off Forest, Coventry or Derby. They don't take life quite as seriously as some folk on Foxes Talk seem to do. The more you react to their comments, the more they will delight in their insults or whatever. So why do I now read / contribute to Foxes Talk rather than Bentley's? No special reason really. You pays your money and takes your choice. I don't have time to be involved with both message-boards - that's for sure. 'Live and let live' Whether you follow Bentley's or Foxes Talk, we are all 100% Foxes fans, aren't we? Life is too short. Enjoy it while you can. Respect the views and just be grateful that everybody is different.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 I personally know one of the members and can say although he's sound as a bloke he's the biggest anti pearson fan out there. So much so I had to unfollow him on Facebook
bovril Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 It's a toss up between the football discussions (http://www.fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=819564) and the political debates (http://fansonline.net/leicestercity/mb/view.php?id=751529) Did you bookmark that immigration thread to use in future posts aimed at Bentley's Roof? Most of the racist posts come from one or two nutjob trolls that are routinely taken the piss out of by the regulars. Like I said earlier, you could find just as much stuff of a similar vein on here.
Mark_w Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Did you bookmark that immigration thread to use in future posts aimed at Bentley's Roof? No I googled 'Bentleys Roof Immigration' and there it was.
fleckneymike Posted 2 June 2015 Posted 2 June 2015 Well I like Bentleys. Great fundraising for Loros year after year. Superb unseen work for Yifter the Everton fan who was tragically killed walking to the ground years ago. Home to the eighth wonder of the world. Plus you don't get much of this on here
