Leicester City are tracking Senegal international striker Moussa Konate and saw him score in the Swiss Cup final for Sion on Sunday.

The 22-year-old struck his 20th goal of the season to set up a 3-0 victory for his club against champions Basel, denying them the domestic double.
When asked if it was a trophy before signing off with Sion, he told Senegal360: "No, I can say that it is a trophy to add to my CV. But after, we'll see by the end of the transfer window. Right now, I focus on the national team and try to do the maximum to win this game (against Burundi)."
The Foxes had a scout at St Jakob Park to make a check on Konate, who first hit the radar of Premier League clubs when he scored five goals for Senegal at the London Olympics.
That earned him a £1.5million move to Krasnodar but he left without starting a top-flight game for the Russian club.
Newcastle United, Rennes and St Etienne have been linked with Konate this season with a £4million price-tag now on the head of the forward, who has two years left on his contract in Switzerland.

Looking good- seem bit egoistical with his celebrations mind.

Most great players have the ego on the pitch. Not saying he's that good, don't know. But an egotistical celebration wouldn't put me off any player. Off the pitch different matter.

Had two hat-tricks in the second half of the 14/15 season and is arguably one of the best strikers in the league. Konaté could've had even more than 16 goals last season if he hadn't started featuring for the team as late as matchday eight.

Alongside two other additions, Veroljub Salatic and Reto Ziegler (ex-Spurs), he acted as the main component in Sion's rise up the table.

Together with Carlitos, he played FC Basel off the park in their own stadium in the cup final on Sunday.

Still, can't envisage him being a Pearson player. As odd as it may sound - despite his talent, he needs to show more consistency and better workrates.

One outstanding season alone in a rather mediocre league (with about two to three good teams, five to six average ones and about two weak ones) doesn't mean a lot.

More likely to join a Ligue 1 side.

I noticed Carlitos provided lot of assists for him- is he any good himself?

Despite having watched this player his whole career due to my love of Senegalese and Russian football, I still would have liked a more convincing youtube video before making a final judgement....

Those goals were against some of the worst defending I've ever seen, (except for Forest and Derby crap defenders of course)

Don't think he would get many chances in the Prem like that.
