VLC86 Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 SSN Jim White has just tweeted that Schemichel Snr has put himself forward. Sorry Ben... @https://twitter.com/JimWhite/status/620318392726257664 Great news, our last father/son combo was a success.
sphericalfox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Peter Schmeichel into 5/1 3rd favourite. When the market goes quiet Sky always seems to find another contender for people to bet on...
LCFC FOX Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Hamer thought Pearson had a favourite imagine if Schmeichel Snr was appointed
escos Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 SSN Jim White has just tweeted that Schemichel Snr has put himself forward. Sorry Ben... @https://twitter.com/JimWhite/status/620318392726257664 Born winner, knows the league inside and out, big name, loads of contacts. Keep the back room staff and I could see this happening!
Matt Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 When the market goes quiet Sky always seems to find another contender for people to bet on... Well I come up with a 'theory' last night that SkyBet is obviously linked with Sky. The website Sporting Life is also linked with Sky/SkyBet, I said that I wonder whether they just keep changing the odds so heavily, adding different names everyday, making new favs everyday just to create a story for Sky/Sky Sports News. Saying that SSN don't really seem that interested in the saga, they're not reporting on it that much.
Guest ttfn Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 obviously not going to happen but he did at least see lots of us last season and would have a better idea of our strengths and weaknesses than most
escos Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I honestly believe the owners/board have trust in the coaches to almost run the team. I really do think they want a face with contacts to attract players, advise etc.
Carl the Llama Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 As my favourite non-LCFC player growing up, I'd be made up if he came to us. After he's proven he can actually manage.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 . As if. Would be mortified if he was our manager. He's done nothing since he retired.
Raw Dykes Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I honestly believe the owners/board have trust in the coaches to almost run the team. I really do think they want a face with contacts to attract players, advise etc. If we could have Shakey and Walsh in charge, with someone else as an assistant/coach, then the extra man could be just about anyone, even if he's given the title of manager or head coach, as far as I'm concerned. How realistic is it that we can keep Shakey and Walsh? They've been extremely loyal to NP, and I'd be very surprised if they're still here once NP gets a new job or we get our new manager.
st albans fox Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I've asked before - is there any evidence that shakey would be a competent manager? It's alright saying he knows the players etc but there is a bit more to it than that.
foxinsocks Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Shakey and Walsh will be off when new guy is appointed.... they are waiting to be paid off and then will follow nige
ramboacdc Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 What are you dabbling on about? How can you make a profit, in fact I call your bluff. Show me your profit you've made. No ones been appointed yet so where is your winnings coming from? How's it a bluff? I didn't say I had made profit I've said I will make profit. Get on the odds before they shoot in and you are laughing. I have a tenner on ranieri at 20/1 with bet victor and 20 on O'Neil at 7/2 with bet victor and 20 at 8/1. Either of them come in im in profit. Right now we know 2 are left in the running from the looks of the odds. You can currently get 7/2 O'Neil with 123 bet I think it was i haven't checked but it's one of them. On a other site you can get Claudio at 6/4. Ergo you can back them both and still come out with more money than you put in. That's how you make profit. Nothing about making it now. It's a marathon not a sprint it seems with this market. Also you never see a bookie on a pushbike.
ramboacdc Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 You've hit the nail on the head right there. IF. If I had the euro numbers on Friday I'd now be minted. The difference being if the euro numbers were only 1 and 2 and you had a ticket with both on you know you will win. In the market right now there are a bajillion managers and i get your point but make the odds work in your favour and your fine. When you get shit like Preki come along or Peter schemichael however it throws the spanner in the works but he won't get the job. Base covering at its best. Only people I will lose on i think are lennon, Cotterell, Preki and now Peter. None of which I thing stand a cat in hells change. Who will be favourite for the job tomorrow then? The money will come for Peter now but I cannot see him getting it.

You know both can't win, yet you can now position your bets to ensure whatever the result you win twice
ramboacdc Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 Question is why haven't you layed the Ranieri and O'Neil bets off to secure profit? You know both can't win, yet you can now position your bets to ensure whatever the result you win twiceI try to avoid the exchanges as i had a bit of an addiction once and i known I could turn a guaranteed profit into a break even in a few moments. I know I will lose my stakes but that will come put of winnings but i do get your point. I could lay ranieri at a great price now and Mon the same but i dont like the laying market. Also means putting the money into betfair to lay first...not a fan of whacking 200/300 in my betfair account. Edit: just realised you meant lay them off to return stake profit and you can't lose no matter whose named....doh sorry half asleep...long day.
Stadt Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 why are people still paying attention to the odds, the odds shorten because punters are putting money on the candidates and its became abundantly clear that the punters don't have a ****ing clue
foxychik Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 why are people still paying attention to the odds, the odds shorten because punters are putting money on the candidates and its became abundantly clear that the punters don't have a ****ing clue It's all we have
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 July 2015 Posted 12 July 2015 I'm definitely in profit whoever they appoint. You don't back outsiders in markets like this you lay favourites. Next manager markets are well known for being absolute goldmines for laying favourites.
