Aus Fox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Away from all the Pearson/ new manager drama Chris Wood had signed for Leeds today. Good luck to our Kiwi friend, didn't work out her but sure he can do a good job for Leeds.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Bye Chris. I'll never forget that time at Burnley when you nearly killed yourself standing on an advertising board after you scored. Dedication that.
Out Foxed Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 good luck Chris. Hopefully he can get some regular playing time and fulfill his promise
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Good luck to Wood at new club LUFC. A thank you to him for the goals and efforts here at Leicester.
Steven Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 See you next year. If some of the gloom and doom mongers to be believed.
J.Lisemore Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Best of luck Chris. He's definitely gonna need it signing for Revolving Door FC.
DennisNedry Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 A bit sad to see him go but it's for the best for him and us. Best memories were his insane scoring run when he first signed, and that 'thunderbolt' against Burnley. He should have chosen Wolves though.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Now he's gone, let me share what I'm informed happened last summer. Wood was going to Wolves in a swap deal with Bakary Sako. Wolves couldn't match his wages so we offered him a generous £500k to go. He and his brother / agent wanted us to pay him, wait for it... £1.5m to go. Club said no chance, Wood said I'll stay then and publicly came out with "Here to fight for my place..." and all that garbage. No problem with people getting the best deal for themselves but he was still going to get good wages at Wolves plus a healthy pay off from us - his greed meant ultimately he had a wasted season.

Don't want to sound odd, but how can some of us trust what you're saying (i.e. work at football club, etc)?

shailen Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Still convinced he is a good striker, and will be in the PL one day. Just not good enough for us atm, given the competition here. Remember that hat-trick against Bristol City in one of his first games for us.

Remember that hat-trick against Bristol City in one of his first games for us. Wasn't every goal deflected / mishit? Remember thinking that was the luckiest hat trick I'd seen.
Bayfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Don't want to sound odd, but how can some of us trust what you're saying (i.e. work at football club, etc)? You are aware this is Geoff Peters, once of RL and now of Talksport. And fellow Leicester Fan?
Bayfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Sorry, I didn't know that. That's ok, just he tends to be a reliable source and only speaks once he believes something to be true.
TOMBlcfc Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Hope he does very well for them. Often showed glimpses of quality for us and if he works on certain areas of his game (like competing aerially) then he could become a top player
RedSoxUK Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Believed he would do better, some bad form killed him off after his great run of scoring for us. Shame he's gone to Leeds out of all the Championship clubs.
deejdeej Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 You are aware this is Geoff Peters, once of RL and now of Talksport. And fellow Leicester Fan?I read that in my head as if you were introducing royalty.
ealingfox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 These quotes from Rosler making him sound like Ronaldo
kingpowerout Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 These quotes from Rosler making him sound like Ronaldo Yeah they'll soon realise that he's not particularly quick. Cannot head a ball, not strong enough to be a target man and has a first touch of a championship standard striker. He's found his level again, but if Leeds were to ever get promoted (doubt it) then he would need to be replaced These quotes from Rosler making him sound like Ronaldo Yeah they'll soon realise that he's not particularly quick. LanguedocFox Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 He's only 23 years old, and has plenty of time to develop. I thought the goal he scored against Everton in the first match last season was brilliant: out-muscled the Everton defence and smacked in a clean shot on the half-volley. With the right encouragement, he could go far, and I wish him well.
