The ugly face of racism.

Bloomn hell Buce, don't envy you on this one pal!

Will your daughter stay friends with the girl inside school?

It's stupid statements from ignorant narrow minded people with agendas which make it harder for generations to integrate.

This is a minotity so don't let it wind you up too much

Shocking Buce.one problem with confronting the mother is. Your daughter is clearly and understandably upset but could this then stir up a hornets nest and the parents insist their daughter does not talk to yours at school either, which will cause further distress, I know it's hard for a 12 year old but I'm hoping your daughters friend sings your daughters praises to her parents. Really tough one. Biting your tongue even though you're right or risk harming your daughters friendship.

Having a 12 and 15 year old whatever you do, it will be your fault!

Good luck.

Now that's good advice.

That is shit, Buce. Especially saying it to your daughter straight over the phone, who just wanted to go swimming with her friend?!

Reminds me of the time I was stood in Leicester city centre with a mate and a black man walks past and sneers "fooking pair of custard creams" I was so shocked trying to process what had just happened and then we both burst out laughing. Moron.

Did you drop your custard creams or carry on eating them?

WTF does a custard cream refer to when being racist to a white lad??!!...Anyone??? lol... Never heard that as an insult!!

I honestly don't think I could be offended being called a honkey or whatever derogatory racial terms for white people there are

Buce im sorry you had to deal with that. I cant imagine what has happened to make that mother feel that way towards whites. Whether she was racially abused or hurt in some other way by a white person who knows. It doesnt really matter at the end of the day because there is just no need for blatant racism like that especially when you live in a multicultural society. Its her loss and unfortunately her childrens.

Id like to hope the child will grow up and realise whites arent all bad and that you have rotten apples in all races.

I wonder what she would say to me. Im half sikh and half white anglican british. Must be confusing for her. she would love and hate me at the same time? Eat my food but tell me to fook off?

Id be inclined to tell her to go to india because i dont like people of my background (white or sikh) making stupid remarks like that. But of course that would only be just as silly to suggest.

I would definitely like to have a conversation with her and her husband to understand what her or there issues may be and if i can help them realise that not all white people are to be untrusted etc. Chances are shes too much of a willy puller to have a constructive conversation but at least i can say that i tried.

If people are wankers then it will catch up with them one day.

There are plenty of other sikh girls out there that would make great friends with your daugther.

As someone said there are idiots in every race. Sadly.

How could you live in a country where you had a serious issue with the majority of the population

Personally, i'd calm down, call the mother and invite her and the rest of her family round for a meal.

Talk to them and get to know what happened to them that gave them the mis-trust, be as understanding as possible and try to allay the prejudice thats built up.

If after that they still hold the same views, accept that they're just racist fools.

We all knew people at school who's parents were racist or just plain idiots. Whilst at school though of the kids are cool just let them get on with it. The fact the child is friends with your daughter suggests she's not affected by the parents views so leave it at that.

Fook that shit, I would go around and threaten her husband, and tell him, cus you can't beat the Mrs up, your gonna teach him a lesson so he can teach his wife a lesson.

If not, try shagging her

Exactly my point

It's Cockney rhyming slang; custard cream is a Jacob's biscuit, which are made in South Wigston on Canal Street.

He was looking at your shoes and thought you had banal feet.

My daughter's friend just called and asked if I would speak with her father.

Fair play to the guy, he couldn't have been nicer: he said he was ashamed and embarrassed by his wife's behaviour, and wanted to make it clear that neither he or his wider family shared her views, and if we are willing he'd be delighted for the girls to go swimming together.

I, of course, accepted the apology in the spirit it was given, and made it clear that there are no hard feelings, so all is well.

Well, I didn't speak with her, but my daughter said she spoke with a strong Indian accent. The husband was clearly born here, though.

Why would you live in the UK if you didn't trust white people as a rule? Must make life next to impossible.

For the record I don't trust Scousers or Jack the lad sex gods.

There's a Bernard manning joke in there somewhere.

Two Jews walking through Bradford at night. They see a group of Asian thugs coming towards them and Seth says to Shimon, "I think we're about to get mugged Shim me old mucker". Shimon replies, "Oy vey! You're right! Here's that £250 I owe you".
