Can't remember if I said already, but I'm in.

Does it open on Monday?

I guess that tips are live as of monday yeah, for the week monday-sunday. post them whenever etc, and we'll still let people join up and post theirs all week. i assume most tips will be for next weekend when proper footy is back anyway.

Scouse you seen my idea?

yeah but reckon it could get a bit messy. think we'll stick to everyone having two to use whenever they choose, a bit like the wildcard on fantasy footy (which was the inspiration for my idea haha).

which is ace. last year we nearly hit the 50 mark and i'd say about 20 were pretty regular giving tips most weeks. so 27 is decent, still a few names missing though!

I'm in.

Do we report the odds ourselves I assume?

yeah, makes totalling it up a load easier. you find whatever bet you want and just drop the odds in here.

ie; "arsenal to beat chelsea today @ 13/8, £10 returns £26.25".

then when you win i can just add the total onto your profit/loss instead of having to trawl through finding a result and then finding the starting price and then working out the returns of a double or whatever.

Im ready for tip number one of the new season, fit and raring to go.

Saturday August 8th, Barclays Premier League, 12:45 Kick Off

Manchester United (4/7) vs Tottenham Hotspur

More of a gut reaction bet than one backed by history or form. I think Man Utd will want to make a big statement early on this season that they can get closer to top spot than they did last season. Added to the fact that they now have Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin, theyve added some much needed quality to the central midfield area. Van Gaal had them playing decently in patches last season and will demand more of them this time around domestically and in Europe.

The odds are generous for Man Utd at home, and this is no home banker. In recent seasons, Villas-Boas and Sherwood have both masterminded Spurs wins at Old Trafford, and that total would have been three recent wins had it not been for Pedro Mendes' yard over the line goal not being spotted.

Indeed, of the last 10 meetings between the teams, Man Utd have only registered 4 wins. But Man Utd did complete a resounding 3-0 win at Old Trafford in their last meeting, so do have some momentum on that front.

Backing a narrow Utd win in this one, as i believe they represent good value.

Sunday August 9th, Barclays Premier League, 1:30 Kick Off

Arsenal (1/4) vs West Ham United

Form very much is on Arsenal's side in this one, on a number of fronts.

People may discuss the significance of the community shield, but the fact is its a trophy in the Arsenal cabinet and at times Arsenal were clicking nicely at Wembley in spite of not having Alexis Sanchez to pick from.

They also have an excellent recent history against the hammers. In the last ten meetings, Arsenal have won 9 and drawn 1. A comprehensive 3-0 win last season at the Emirates followed a battling win 2-1 at Upton Park around christmas time.

And with a now fit squad with Ramsey and Wilshere who should be fit for the game, and the addition of Petr Cech, there is a feeling that Arsenal can challenge this season for trophies on all fronts with a good league start. Sanchez is still resting after the Copa America, but without him, Arsenal should still have enough if he doesnt play.

By contrast, Slaven Billic has made a less than spectacular start to his reign at West Ham. Relying on a penalty shootout in the Europa League Qualifiers to see off Birkirkara, they then surrendered a 2-0 lead vs Astra Giurgu.

And its far too early in the season for Europa League sunday hangovers, but thats exactly the prospect that faces West Ham after their thursday trip back from Romania. They also stand to lose two key players, Jenkinson on the terms of his loan deal, and Valencia who requires surgery.

All in all, im predicting home banker. (ive said that before though).

The double pays just under evens, £10 returns £19.64 for £9.64 profit.

Leicester to win vs Sunderland @ Evs.

There's no need to talk about the last 10 games of last season and the turbulence of pre-season this year. Yes Sunderland held us to 2 drab goalless draws last season and yes they have strengthened over the summer.

However, in front of what will be a rocking KP, I fancy us to put this to bed early and put on a bit of a show in Claudio's first competitive game in charge.

Bournemouth vs Villa - Over 1.5 goals @ 4/11.

With Villa loosing Vlaar, Delph & Benteke and their replacements surely taking time to settle, I fancy them to concede more than they did last season (remember their last 3 games, pasted).

Bournemouth in their first ever premier league game will be looking to make an impact with fast attacking football. Yes Bournemouth can score, but they do look suspect at the back, I can see goals, but I'll play safe with over 1.5.

Total bet is £10 @ 1.73/1 which returns £27.27, with a profit of £17.27.
