Rusko187 Posted 4 August 2015 Posted 4 August 2015 As I understand owners are now allowed to bank-roll clubs... but cannot look to claim any money back, it allows for growth of clubs with the financial security that the owner can't come knocking down the line. However if the owner doesn't shell any money out of his own pocket then they are purely reliant on the clubs turnover which is where FFP will govern what they can spend. In Forest case they have been hit by FFP which is causing them headaches, had they not their owners could bank-roll them. This is what was explained to me.

There's an ongoing court case to challenge UEFA on the grounds of EU employment laws and how it impacts players and agents potential earnings. It won't exist for long. Basically it's a Platini crusade to stop English clubs dominating. The lawyer who argued the case for Jean-Marc Bosman is on board as far as I'm aware. There is also a case in the European courts bought by fans of Manchester City and PSG to argue how unfair it is.

A PSG or Man City fan talking about 'fair' is a bit rich! Given the number of administrations and players not getting paid (more in Spain) it is actually a very good idea in principle. They need time to work on it and improve it. Given Spain's TV rights will be more evenly spread it could well lead to English teams dominating again in the future especially if PL TV rights continue to soar.

I recall people saying we needed to buy this and that, yet we had to remove people who didn't want to leave because of their high wages. Not worried at the moment, as our in comings from Sky mean we have lots to spend at the moment. Big issue will be if we haven't put going down clauses in contracts. If that hasn't happened, we will be treading water for years if we go down and players don't leave. Clever folk at the helm at our club though, they will have it all covered.

So lets hope their satellites don't fall out back down to earth...that would instantly throw the game (and most other professional sports) into meltdown, all the mercenaries would be heading to their homelands unsatisfied with the income support they'd be getting

It either makes a club live within their means (Can't be bankrolled to the top), or it protects the already 'elite' clubs as the financial rules in place won't allow a semi-decent team to challenge. Plenty of ways around FFP for the time being, and the rules are being relaxed a little. However, punishments aren't particularly good. Fine a club for spending too much money? Rubbish. Clubs like S Bucharest or Dinamo Moscow may get bans from entering European competitions but realistically clubs like Manchester City and Roma won't, that's the sad part. Live within your means (unless you're a big club).

QPR essentially rolled the dice to get promoted the premier league when we went up and if they'd have stayed up it would've been welk worth it. I'm almost certain we are compliant with it after te job we did after the Sven debacle

Pearson lowering expenditure is actually a myth. The released accounts show that he didn't.
