We go with what we have got

absolutely. Ulloa's a nightmare to call - I think we'll be more dangerous going forward without him, but much weaker defending set pieces without him. Getting a bit nervous just thinking about selection choices on Sat now!

yep im more scared for 2pm Saturday than 3pm Saturday.

I'm just happy we got Kante over the line when we did, makes this weekend just that little more exciting in my opinion. Andy King can do a solid job for now, but no doubt we will get in another midfielder before the window closes.

Robert Huth will yet again make a massive difference, I find it strange that the media were praising Huth at the end of last season as a difference maker, we now sign him permanently yet quite a few mark us down for relegation. Huth, Wasilewski & Morgan did a fantastic job at the back end of last season, we have now signed Benalouane & Fuchs plus we will see the emergence of Chilwell, our defence on paper looks solid.

Hopefully we will get a full season out of Marc Albrighton, he made a great impact in the second half of last season, a full season of Marc Albrighton is an exciting prospect, can see him getting into double figures in terms of assists.

Finally we have four strikers in Ulloa, Vardy, Kramaric & Okazaki who are all capable of scoring 10+ goals this season. We have great pedigree in terms of attackers, while some teams will be relying on one or two strikers to score them the goals, we have four plus Nugent, Schlupp & Mahrez who will no doubt chip in with a few goals themselves.

We're one or two midfielders away from being a really strong outfit, but going into Saturday there's nothing to be concerned about, I'm happy to go into the season with the squad we have.

I'm nervous just waiting for the postman - season ticket still not here!

Probably won't even make it to 2pm Sat at this rate.

Feeling a lot better about the new season than I was just after Pearson was sacked. The additions of Kante and Benny are promising, and it looks like Walsh will be our scout for the time being, which is obviously great.

I'm pretty happy with how the squad looks at the moment, and clearly we're still trying to strengthen it, so things are looking better than they were.

I can't believe the new season is only two days away! The pre-season whizzed past for me, for once.

Ranieri is saying all the right things about the team, but no doubt we will try to bring in at least another midfielder right up to the window SLAMS SHUT!

Good use of capitals there John. Added to the drama.  :P

I hoped we'd sign a more established central midfielder and added to our wide attacking options, but I'm pleased with the signings we have made. I'm cautiously optimistic as I feel that the squad is capable of doing well but we need Ranieri to be on his best form getting the most out of the players.

The only concern is the team doesn't appear stronger than last season. If we'd signed two Huth's then the defence would be stronger but we effectively have the same defence. The midfield will need additions, it is considerably weaker than last with the loss of Cambiasso and James' prolonged absence due to injury. The forward line is more of an unknown, we've secured Okazaki but as we saw with Krameric it can take time to settle into a side.

A top quality midfielder is a must and an additional squad midfielder would be worthwhile. If we go with what we have now I fear we may struggle

I was thinking about posting a similar remark regarding the squad not being improved, but with Huth we have improved on the squad that was struggling prior to his arrival and Fuchs adds to that. If we perform like we did with Huth in the squad last season then there's no real need for any improvement as we'll be champions league contenders lol

Okazaki feels like a luxury signing while the unproven Kante may take a while before he's up to standard.

I'd say we're better in defence, worse in midfield and the same in attack so overall we're probably in the same kind of place.

We certainly improved with Huth but Fuch's as a LB/LWB will come at the expense of a LWB Schlupp and could deny us much needed pace which was a real threat last term. Two Huth calibre players (i.e. much better than Was or Wes) are needed as lose Huth and we're back to panic stations.

Kante looks a good signing but he is no Cambiasso and wont just sit and cover. We need that deeper midfielder who can shield and build.

Okazaki I know very little about beyond press reports, Japan doesn't have a great history of strikers and again that doesn't fill me with confidence.

Must be a hassle mowing the grass under those seats.

I'd say we're better in defence, around on par with the midfield and can only be better in attack - saying that we can only field 11 players so is Okazaki better than our first choice strikers? I guess on paper - yes but fine lines so we wont know until we've played 15+ games and even then that might not be enough time.

I think Kante looks like he could be a real coup - adds something we havent had for years (hopefully) in the centre of the park.

I got the impression that Fuchs could play as one of the 3 CDs, which would mean Schlupp would continue as LWB.

True, Kante is no Cambiasso, but by the same token, Cambiasso couldn't offer the work-rate and defensive cover that it looks like Kante will offer.  It will be interesting to see what Andy King can do with a proper defensive midfielder covering him. He may flourish once he's spared the defensive duties that have always been the weak point of his game.

OKazaki looks like a good signing as long as we're not expecting him to be any better than Vardy.

Still not convinced with Right-Back; De Laet can't tackle, and Wasilewski is fine but quite slow.

I'm wondering what would happen if Albrighton couldn't play a game but we're doing well with 3-5-2

I think De Laet is a pretty good wing-back and could sub for Albrighton.
