Very sad to see him go. Seemed such a great character and scored some stunning goals for us. The last time I was this sad about a player leaving was probably Muzzy, no one else had been here long enough to leave an impression. Hope he does well for Boro.

Good luck Nuge, true pro and always gave it 100 percent, very likeable guy, now I know it might not happen, but he never seemed to give a f**k about celebrating scoring against his former teams, however do you think he would celebrate against us?

When we signed him I didn't imagine he would be as key as he has been for the past four odd years. Been U fairly criticised at times but has continually performed, ran hard and created someone truly class moments.

Wish him well. Been a quality player for us.

Sad to see him leave, but its time for him to move on as he wouldn't have gotten much more games under his belt here anytime soon. Good move for all of us and let's make the most of the £4m.

He was always in the right mindset and a real asset in the dressing room I'm sure.

Fact is he's a great signing for a side that's chasing promotion but hasn't quite got the quality and n front of goal to be starting in the prem.

He did a good job, nothing more to say really

The timing and the deal is right for all parties, however feel gutted he has left, first class attitude and always played the game with a smile on his face. Has had a brilliant 4 years at the club and his contribution should ensure his name is etched in our history forever. One of my favourite LCFC players ever and that is some statement given I have followed the club for 36 years!!!!!

Still think he has unfairly been pushed out. The new players haven't even got close to proving themselves yet and we're pushing out our 3x top scorer and a player that bagged 5 from playing midfield most of last term.

A useful asset gone in my opinion. Great attitude, great to have in the changing room and a fantasticly spirited person outside the game.

Good luck on your future venture nuge. You will be missed.

I don't see him as being pushed out, and I'm sure if he had stayed he would have gotten his chance but £4m is a good price for him, then it is up to him and he chose first team football.

Good luck to him, always appreciated his effort and attitude.

Was a great player for us, a goalscorer especially in the championship. He was a key part of the promotion team, his work ethic and attitude was first class. A great lad to have in the dressing room, unfortunately I think it's just became the natural time for him to leave. Didn't see him getting much game time with the options now available up front. We got a good price for him and I wish him all the best. Right move for the player and the club.

You know a player is genuinely loved and adored when the club press release goes beyond the usual blah blah blah wish x all the best.

"In addition to his on-pitch contribution, Nugent has been an outstanding ambassador for Leicester City in the last four years, becoming an enormously popular figure with players and supporters alike. An infectious character with boundless enthusiasm, he has regularly taken pride in representing the Club in the local community, working admirably with people of all ages.

David departs with the best wishes of everyone at Leicester City. We wish him every success in his future career and will gladly welcome him back to King Power Stadium as a visiting player or a friend of the Club."
