Drinky the new Scholes?!

I think if he scored that chance he'd have got MOTM.

But for me, that was Andy King's best game in a City shirt. Just did everything immaculately.

King has had about 20 better games for us.

Edit: sorry I just realised that might sound confrontational, it wasn't. Thought he was good today but King has had some super-human performances and a few other dead good ones too

Don't think DD will ever be "the new Scholes". That's not to say that he can't be the first Drinkwater. Different players anyway.

Very, very good today and I'm so very glad it looks like he's in Ranieri's long term plans. Always liked him and genuinely think he can do a job for us this season – and he's already played his part in getting us to a great start and six points!

No...

Rep point for St Pauli. Pretty sure I haven't noticed that on your sig before!

I actually feel Cambiasso was a negative influence on Drinkwater. He looks absolutely brilliant now. I actually think he's stepped up to another level. Very reminiscent of Scholes.

Idolised him at Utd didn't he?

Its good to see him having a crack at goal in these opening two games, he looks more confident, as does King and the rest of the lads. Its the experience of the PL last year tbf.

Not quite, Paul Scholes was without a doubt one of the world's greatest midfielders and the best English player to play with such passion and have such skill he makes everyone else play better.

Drinkwater's alright yeah but Scholes is the real deal. N'golo Kante is the man you could say would fit the Scholes mould, if Kante can hit a blooter, and get forward more (yet to see him start so fully unaware of that potential) he's the man.

He's playing the kind of balls Cambiasso would play and consistently seeing them come off for him. Seems as big an improvement over last year as his improvement in the promotion season.

Can't compare to Scholes but DD is real quality when he's confident. That pass to Mahrez last week was unreal, every bit as good as anything Cambiasso could have done. Hope he can keep up the good start as I'm a big fan.
