Dickov22 Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Both Kramaric and Ulloa will get plenty of chances this season- injuries, suspensions, lots of games etc
sdb Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Hope not. Will be needed and, i'm sure, prove valuable once again.
Littletoe Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Should have come on earlier today, Okazaki was bullied out of the game. Yeah, well called mate, I was watching a live stream thinking the exact same.
Heymister2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I get the feeling he will be sold in this window making room for Austin or Balotelli
Guest Col city fan Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 I get the feeling he will be sold in this window making room for Austin or Balotelli I'd be happy to see Austin at City, but Balotelli can fook off. I so hope Ranieri doesn't risk the tightness of this squad by signing that plonker!
RedSoxUK Posted 22 August 2015 Posted 22 August 2015 Ulloa came on because he's a target man, a hold-up player, and has the defensive qualities Mahrez just doesn't have when the opposing team are in your end with a throw-in near your box. It just so happens Ulloa's first touch is so poor, he was probably more detrimental to the cause than bringing on Alan Birchenall.
fuchsntf Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Wait till later, and injuries come along Ulloa could well be unreplaceable, November December I am sure we will be gratefull he is still around. Okazaki his style of play will see he will get knocks, and have periods when he would welcome a rest.Thats when Kramaric will show his prowness. We have a talented squad for a reason, a few posters already suggesting silly loan deals.Too early to say who are 1st or 3rd choices, a full season is still ahead of us, with twists and turns where football gods play a part.
st albans fox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 If we don't buy another big striker then Leo has a role to play this campaign but most of it will be on the bench with the odd game where CR thinks he is suited. Whether he is happy to play that role remains to be seen. Problem is he could be picked and score and then dropped for the next game because he doesn't fit the style we are going to play.
fleckneymike Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 I think Ulloa struggles due to peoples perception of they player he should be rather than the player he is. His physique is that of a target man, his ability however is that of a poacher. He isn't too good at bringing others into play or helping to build an attack but what he has got is the ability to be at the right place at the right time.
chicagofox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Ulloa is a valuable member of the squad and will play a valuable part this season. Why does everything have to be blown up out of all proportion? Player hasn't started three games due to the manager picking an unchanged winning team. There's. I story in that.
Captain... Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 He was clearly substituted because Spurs were in possession in our half with a minute of added time to go. Ranieri chose to waste time and do his bit to secure the point. I agree that is why Ranieri made that substitution, but don't like it, it may waste some time and disrupt play, but I think it is disrespectful to the player coming on, especially in this situation where he is desperate to impress the new manager. I'm not surprised that he was straight off down the tunnel at full time. I also think it would have made more sense to bring on a defender.
Captain... Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Love it, people criticizing tinkerman for not tinkering early enough. They're right though. Do you think that is in anyway a reaction to his nickname? they expect tinkering I will keep the same team for 3 games. I know we are unbeaten but I am surprised we haven't seen more tinkering as he tries to learn more about his squad.

ARM1968 Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 It's a squad game. You need a good squad to survive in this league let alone compete. There will be a number of good players waiting for their chance or only getting minimal game time. I'm sure Ulloa and Kram will get their chance to shine, but it would have been harsh to drop anyone for either after our start to this season. As professionals they should know this and keep any disappointment they might feel to themselves, train well and impress the manager. Take any chances they get. It is the only way.
HighPeakFox Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Is there any statistical evidence that Ranieri tinkers much more than other managers?
Riot Van Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Behave will you you must of been watching a different game to me then
The_77 Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 It looked like the team was missing a physical presence out there that Ulloa could have provided had he been put on earlier. Vardy and Okazaki are playing well but are going to run themselves into the ground if they keep up this pace. I'm sure Leo will get plenty of opportunities; I don't think there's reason to speculate about his place on the squad just yet.
dedlock Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Vardy 2 yellow cards,so its only a matter of time before he will be suspended, how he plays. Injuries, loss of form, tactical 'tinkering' mean it's only a matter of time before he will get a chance. Knocky used to leave promptly to catch a train, who knows why Leo left when he did, maybe he used to wait for his pal Esteban!
volpeazzurro Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 I quite like him, but I rate Kram over him. I can't imagine a player like Leo who had quite a good record in his debut season will be content is just being a squad player. Him going now could be quite good as we might retain the amount we paid, but I'd like to see him stay a little while. It's a team game and he needs to be patient . If he'd have been in from the start and performed equally as well how would he feel? Ranieri at the start of the season alluded to the fact that he wasn't fit. If not injured why not? He needs to get his head down starting at Bury if selected and fight for his place. Alternatively he probably already understands this and if he did rush off after the game did so for a genuine reason.
Izzy Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 Is there any statistical evidence that Ranieri tinkers much more than other managers? Good question. I doubt it. Maybe he was just a Pioneer, a Visionary, ahead of his time. The first Manager to utilise his resources and introduce 'squad rotation'. Hence the nickname and all other Managers since have followed suit....
ImBlue Posted 23 August 2015 Posted 23 August 2015 I agree that is why Ranieri made that substitution, but don't like it, it may waste some time and disrupt play, but I think it is disrespectful to the player coming on, especially in this situation where he is desperate to impress the new manager. I'm not surprised that he was straight off down the tunnel at full time. I also think it would have made more sense to bring on a defender. Ulloa is useful at corners, so if there was one, he would have been an advantage. He's paid enough, and if he wants to use him to simply waste time, as long as it's for the benefit of ye club that's paying his wages, he shouldn't grumble. He will get his chance Tuesday, and it's up to him to take it.

Man told to do his job in disrespect shocker! Be serious.
lgfualol Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Might be in a spot of bother. Doubt anything will come of it though. http://www.irishtimes.com/business/panama-papers-how-soccer-has-become-enmeshed-in-offshore-world-1.2595555 "Leonardo Ulloa, a top scorer for Leicester City, the surprise team of the season for fans of the Premier League. In early 2008, when he was playing for San Lorenzo de Almagro in Argentina, Leo Ulloa signed over his economic and image rights to Jump Drive Sport Rights LLC, a company registered in New York. On paper, Jump Drive’s director and shareholder weren’t people but instead two companies based in the South Pacific nation of Samoa. Jump Drive’s power of attorney was held by José Manuel García Osuna, a businessman and soccer administrator who is now facing fraud charges in Spain, including an allegation that he pocketed a large percentage of the money that Ulloa was supposed to receive for his image rights as well as for his signing contracts to move from one team to another. Ulloa declined to discuss his image rights agreement or his dealings with Osuna. “I don’t have a good relationship with him now, but I don’t want to talk about it,” Ulloa said in a brief telephone interview. Osuna told ICIJ that he didn’t incorporate Jump Drive and he didn’t sign Ulloa’s image rights contract. He said he negotiated Ulloa’s signing with the Spanish club CD Castellón but he “did not bill a single cent to the club in exchange for my services.”
Vicki Vixen Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Ulloa has been excellent during the last two games. Two very different performances against Swansea and Man United. His control of the high ball has definitely improved a lot since the start of the season, he's still got a way to go to improve his first touch, but he's made a big improvement and obvious it's something he's been working on. I thought he gave the Man Utd defence a really tough time yesterday, he won most of the balls played up to him and allowed us to break up several periods of play where Utd were getting on top. Could have bagged a couple off set pieces too. I was thinking the worst when Vardy got his suspension, but Ulloa has come in and done an excellent job. He's been in and out of the team all season but his attitude has been first class. Epitome of what this team is about.
johnny the fox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 ran his bollocks off yesterday... you can't ask anymore than that..
