Bournemouth away Match Thread

Prob end up working as 4-4-1-1 with Riyad free roaming just behind Vardy.

Would like to see Kram play soon - not had a chance to shine yet. Looking forward to seeing Kante get a full game though.

We still looked more convincing with three at the back. If he wanted a 5 man midfield it would have made sense to revert back to 3.5.2 ala Pearson's winning formula. As for putting benny on the bench over wasyl after his recent performances, well that is just shockingly unfair on our polish tank. Krama and wasyl will be up in the stands feeling right peeved off now.

It doesn't make sense if he doesn't want to play three at the back. In what way was it more convincing? We've continued in good form with 4 at the back.

Kramaric has done nothing to get the rimming he's getting. Absolutely baffling.

The BBC has it down as a 4-2-3-1, so everybody chill out until the game is over. For now, cheer them on and support them as much as you can.

Could be, King as the CAM.

Some much negativity in this thread man.

'Tinker this, tinker that' - Why don't you all just Tinker off eh?

It's the right decision for me, pack the midfield, disrupt them moving the ball 5 yards sideways every time.

Albrighton & Mahrez will be almost freed from defensive duties as the 3 man midfield can push across to cover.

So Kram isn't in the squad, why is it such a big deal?

You can only pick 11 players & 7 substitutes.

Who do you honestly swap him with on the bench? Ideas on a postcard please.

Sometimes, it honestly feels on here that some of you are only ever truly happy when we lose.

People were moaning about a lack of possession last week against Spurs and now we bring antoher body in midfield and people are moaning.

Team looks solid to me. Good options on the bench. I fancy us strongly

The tinkerman stuff is really wearing thin. Simple fact is Ranieri was ahead of his time in English football by actually thinking about the best team and formation to beat the opposition. The change to 4-5-1 for this game makes a lot of sense. I'd rather we have a manager that changes the team and shape, versus gravel throat and his ilk playing their 4-4-2 week in week out.

This. When Fergie's Man U were in their prime the opposition would change almost their entire team for the trip to Old Trafford, so little was the expectation of a result, resting key players for the next games. Can we ban 'tinkerman' from future posts

Except he wasn't particularly effective behind the two was he? certainly not compared to on the wing...

I remember him being very good there and people saying that we'd found his best position as he drifts towards the centre regardless of where he's playing

People reacting to Kram not being on the bench like Ranieri has told him to pack his bags and never set foot in Leicester again. From what I've seen of him so far he clearly has ability but is neither a target man or has the electric pace to play on the shoulder of the last defender, with this in mind he is likely to get less game time in away games as opposed to home games where visiting teams will set up more defensively.

I'd have Kram in for Ulloa - these are gung ho going forward and rudimental at the back, it's a case of wanting pace and flair going forward, and Kram offers more quality on the ball than Leo as far as I've seen. Other than that, it seems like we're setting up to contain more than anything - while when they pile men forward that might make sense, we've got more quality than them going forward, and the prospect of Vardy, Albrighton, Mahrez and Okazaki breaking forwards with potentially 4 v 2 the moment they lose possession could easily produce a cricket score.

If anyone gets a hd/good stream could they pm me please?

You'll be lucky to get HD.

Please everyone use PM and don't post on here.

Totally agree, I'm stunned by all this 3 at the back stuff too. Mahrez has been nothing short of stunning on the wing this season so he needs to stay there. Far better than in the floating role he has in the 352.

As for Kram - I didn't see any rave reviews about his performance against Bury so what's he done to deserve a place? Typical FT, prefer moaning than saying well done to a lad who has performed really well and deserves a spot on the bench. It's not like we paid for Kram with our own money and it's going to waste!

He's better when he's got a clear run at people. He might drift in slightly but needs really to start out wide with more space to get up to speed.

If he's not even on the bench now behind 3 strikers and a youth prospect why would he get a chance all of a sudden?

Because we have 2 cups and 34 more games, we will have injuries, fatigue and suspensions, we have a manager who is flexible and still learning about the squad.

We should be excited about the game not getting suicidal because the manager has made a slight change to include a player we all think should be starting.

He wants options on the bench and Dodoo, Okazaki and Ulloa give more options to win the game than Okazaki, Krama and Ulloa.

Behind the front 2 where he played at the end of last season when he was extremely effective, obviously. Why would you ask something to which the answer is so blatantly clear?

Really? That obvious our best winger and most creator player,, stick him behind the front 2 where a team can double up on him. On the wing it's Mahrez against the full back and in 1 on 1 situations there is only one winner at the minute.

1 would be more pissed off with moving Mahrez off the wing than any other change we could make.

I'm going to give Ranieri the benefit of the doubt here, partly because I think Kanté warrants a start, partly because DD and King looked like they needed help against Spurs, and partly because Eddie Howe more than likely wasn't planning on facing this midfield and now has a lot of thinking to do on short notice.

Kanté has the engine and the wheels to get forward, but we'll really know if our midfield is firing on all cylinders of King drives forward. We have three "pilots" for our car now. :P

It's blatantly clear that Mahrez is at his best cutting in from the wing. Have you even seen him play? If you have, and are suggesting he should be moved from the wing, you're out of your mind. He has been the best winger in the premier league this season.

That's it, give Pearson's arse another lick!

Ranieri is not Pearson, so he is entitled to bring his own ideas to the team.

Some massive over reactions on here.

Bournemouth are going to attack, they are home and buzzing to get their first win in the premier league last year.

Just cause of formation doesn't mean we are going to sit back and take pressure for 90 mins.

The players we have to attack are good enough to take on any Bournemouth defender, we have pace to counter, they have old man distin at the back for starters!

We are clearly set up to frustrate them, close them down and offer no space to create.

** my apologies, Distin is on the bench. But still Albrighton, Mahrez, Kante & Vardy will be too much for that defence

Posted

Also have a bad feeling about this one.  Bournemouth's confidence will be sky-high after their results over the past week and will look to drive forward in this one in front of their own supporters.

I still feel like our defence isn't quite set yet and inviting a team that will feel like they have a semi-free-hit today on to us will be a mistake I fear.

Would love to be proven wrong but I'm going 1-0 Bournemouth.

After the monster run we've been on, we are due a loss at some time just to stir the pot a little

I thought he may go for the 3 in midfield, Obviously looking to control the game and hit them on the break when possible.

Surely Kram will get his chance to start at Villa if he has been left out today, hope he can keep his head up as im sure he will get his chance soon enough.

Glad Kante is in think we will dominate this game today. 1-4
