Webbo Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 These threads really worry me about humanity. I would love to think that everyone that supports Leicester: Are not racist. Are not sexist. Supports the idea that all people have the right to have a home and receive free health care. Supports the idea that there should be a minimum wage. Supports the idea that everyone is entitled to a free education. Care about their fellow humans. Then you read the views of some on threads like this and you realise............ Some people are real shits. Nothing is free.
lcfcdave15 Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I like to think that no Leicester fan is as inhumane as to have those kind of views. I think most of the people arguing against the refugees coming here are just worried about their own country, fair enough, it would be unfair to call those people inhumane for having that view (even if I personally disagree). If, however anyone does have said views then they should be ashamed of themselves and ought to imagine themselves in the position of the refugees.

Richmondfox Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Since the picture of the boy on the beach I've noticed over the last few days my friends (lefty London types but nice people) have been posting events they are going to and calling for support for the Calais charity runs that are going on. They will be in for a rude awakening when they won't be seeing the women and children from Syria but African males that have a more violent, aggressive take on getting into the UK. They are the only ones keeping themselves in this situation by not applying for asylum in France where they are safe from the 'troubles' they all say they have faced. This is a serious question, what are the jobs that they will do on the black market in the UK? This video from a French news station showing some lefties helping in 'the jungle' is quite interesting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbTSdUdQeLY I'm surprised by the lack of gratitude and respect the 'migrants' that arrive in Greece and Hungary are showing. If you have fled such hardships then you would be happy for the safety and respect the countries laws and people. They are asking to be treated like humans but act up when they don't get their way, early warning signs for when they settle. The way they have left countries a mess from litter, fighting with themselves and the local police shows no respect, they have learnt how to use the cameras to their advantage. It's sad when small children are dying but the parents are putting them in the situation, they are safe in Turkey but choose to cross the water. Also why bash out children when you are living in camps and having to flee. They are people from countries with high birth rates but I also feel that it is being used as a way to guilt us. I have taken a view of anti migration because of the way this country has to accept way too many people of low skill/no skill from the EU, 'students' from outside the EU as well as the migrants that arrive illegally then end up staying and the Roma that beg and steal in London. To counter this and keep the locals happy the previous government set about a benefits system that supports people who don't want to work. I've also noticed that many people vocal on this do fall into the pro Corbyn/anti Daily Mail/Anti Conservatives camps where it is easy to be generous with other peoples money and be a social justice warrior on Facebook and twitter. It's easier to get involved in politics on a grand scale where you will make no difference than on a local level where you can make a contribution. If the government could stop all working visas from outside of the EU and reduced the number of low skilled workers from from the EU then the country could absorb many 'refugees' direct from Syria or camps in Turkey and the men could find jobs to support themselves and large families which is what they say they want, also it seems everyone that the BBC/press speak to is a teacher or university graduate and have the ability to save up several thousand pounds in cash so they might be of use and can contribute positively to the country. Poland and such should/could step up and help as we are supporting millions of their people so surely they would have the spare housing, finances and infrastructure to support. I've tried to offer my support and skills as a volunteer, i'm still waiting to hear back from UK Border Force. I know this is very negative post but it's how events have made me feel and view the situation.
RowlattsFox Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 The impression I get is that people are happy to accept refugees as long as they don't move into thier area.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I feel like this topic is going into political over drive especially now the racist word is being thrown about! I guess it was always going to get political but there's no need for "racism" to be brought up. We're talking about an important and present problem of Migration.

You're entrenched views would be very hard to change, no matter what facts were placed in front of you. Just one point though, you use the term 'lefty' as if it's an insult. Why? A left wing view is one that rejects the vulgarity of capitalism, it rejects the racist views of the right wing parties such as UKIP, it supports the majority rather than the rich minority. I am very happy to be called a 'lefty'
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Excellent post. Now let's close this thread. Why? This thread has nothing to do with football. Stupid idea by Villa.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Mods, lock and delete Why? better discussion and posting in this thread than the entire Leicester City football forum.
m4DD0gg Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Its nothing to do with racism the facts of the matter are our country is struggling with the burden it is already under. The NHS is practically on its knee's, the days of seeing you're GP same day as ringing the surgery are over, hospital waiting times are unsustainable and lets not even go near the fact that people are living longer putting tremendous strain on pensions etc. Housing, social or otherwise is a huge bottle neck there are simply not enough houses whether affordable or not for the population let alone an influx of refugees. End of the day i feel desperately sorry for these people but what does get right on my tit's is they travel through most of eastern europe refusing to claim asylum in the first countries they get to in order to make their way to more western european nations such as Germany and the UK. To be honest constant UK meddling under the puppet strings of the USA in matters that are NOTHING to do with us have ultimately caused this Exodus type shift in human movement. Perhaps we should put on cross-atlantic ferries and have all these Syrian refugees sent to the USA.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 My late mother's house is empty atm and will be until it's sold. Do you think the govt can just commandeer it and hand it over to some migrant? How many of these houses are habitable? Doesn't anyone ask themselves why if these things are simple to solve how come nobody's done it already? It seems to me that the people who are too clever to be fooled by the right wing press will believe anything. Perhaps the govt. could rent it from you and pay you a market rent. Empty houses are rather disgusting given the situation in the country for housing.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I remember when a Ugandan Asian family of seven moved in next door to us in Wiggy in the 1970s. Four sons and a daughter. We used to spend the whole summer playing cricket and football with them. Such great memories. They moved out about 10 years later. Where are you now Bhaskar, Rupin, Sanjay and Sangita? (and the little one whose name I can't remember). I remember when certain areas of Leicester became occupied by the refugees fleeing Idi Amin's oppressive regime. 3 or 4 generations moved into the same house - certainly overcrowded but within 10 years those families had worked so hard that they owned the whole street/area and had moved into the more prosperous areas. Immigrants are great for an economy but frightening for some of the entitled locals.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Nothing is free. It IS free not to be a racist It IS free not to be a sexist It is free to support the idea of a national minimum wage etc... Free the mind, release the fear and maybe you won't suffer the way you think you're going to. Don't you decorate homes that are owned by second and third generation immigrants and earn a decent living from it? I like to think that no Leicester fan is as inhumane as to have those kind of views. I think you are confusing people's thoughts on refugees with people's concerns about migrants.
Guest Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Perhaps the term "lefty" is synonymous with "caring". Certainly seems that way reading this thread.
Richmondfox Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Wow, I won't even attempt to counter you're argument. I am very happy to be called a 'lefty' It's not an argument, it's an opinion, something which you have and I respect as it's what you believe in and I hope you would respect mine too. Maybe my opinion will change once the dust settles from this current crisis and the political path and direction of the country is clearer. I use the term Lefty in a slightly tongue and cheek do gooder way but I apologise if it has caused offence it was a regrettable error in judgement I take full responsibility for and I accept my behaviour was not up to what's expected of me. Just a point, you are quick to throw negative terms linking right wing, UKIP and racism to my post which is a classic deflection, damning tactic. My views have came from a single parent, working class family from Thurnby Lodge who had little and was given little support but gained what I view is a lot through hard work. I changed my political views from Labour to nothing during the war and the further lies from Brown then to Conservative when I started to earn more, pay more into the system and take little back while others do the opposite. It was mainly due to the London riots and seeing the ungrateful nature and attitude of a generation. This has nothing to do with race but to do with an infrastructure being able to support itself. I'm all for helping people who need help but i'm more in favour of everybody in the country working hard, taking only what they need when they need it and pushing in the same direction to make the country and the life of its people better. Also I would to see LCFC win the FA Cup.
Strokes Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 What ? . 90% of Britain is not built on and we are one of the richest nations on earth, far from skint. It doesn't matter how much you earn, if your bills exceed it, you are skint.
Buce Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Give me your poor, your tired your weak and your hungry..... Some people in this thread would be on their hands and knees begging for another country to take them and their loved ones in if they were suffering the same. It did happen once here you know and it was France that stepped up and took British children in when we thought we were going to be invaded and slaughtered.
Rincewind Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Spare us the sanctimonious crap Ken. Nobody has blamed the lefties. Did you miss post #291? Mentions the leftie press. My comment was a little tongue in cheek and also in response to the post that followed which mentions that the story is actually are also in the Sun and Mail. I do not see what left or right has to do with this. It is about being a decent human being. It has been reported that Nigel Farage has said something like 'We cannot risk being compassionate towards refugees' How is there risk in being compassionate?
Wymsey Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Bet UKIP supporters are livid about this situation.
Webbo Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 Free the mind, release the fear and maybe you won't suffer the way you think you're going to. Don't you decorate homes that are owned by second and third generation immigrants and earn a decent living from it? Yes, I decorate for a lot of second 1st, 2nd, 3rd and probably beyond that, generation immigrants and in the main I get on fine with them. What's your point?
Webbo Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 I must admit I was a little baffled by that too.
whoareyaaa Posted 5 September 2015 Posted 5 September 2015 This is just getting out of hand in my eyes, They are trying to get into the UK but at the end of the day what are they going to be bringing to the table? The majority of the Women will not work, yet they will be expected to be housed, feed and watered from our state. While the majority of the Males getting through will result to crime to fund there lifes. Yes there will be a small minority that will want to work and will offer the country some benefits but this number is extremely small in my eyes. It's like yesterday I was walking up the NCP carpark to get to my car and there was an immigrant getting ready to take a hit of crack!!! So to fund his habbit he will have to commit crime and who knows this could lead to murder in some cases, now if you look at this on a larger scale we will be ****ed sooner rather than later if we continue to let them come in. And lets not get it twisted Leicester is run over with illegals, its a disgrace. if you drive up one road in Leicester there must be 10-15 disabled parking spots on one street. taking the PISS!
