Guest Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Pretty sure I still have scars on my shins after attempting to sit down at Loftus Road last season. ha yeah I tried the same at Half time not advisable unless you are about 5ft
Vicki Vixen Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Fratton park toilets take some beating nowadays I remember Edgeley Park (Stockport) and Saltergate (Chesterfield) giving them some competition.
Vicki Vixen Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Give me a Loftus Road or an Elm Park over the modern identikit stadiums any day.
pSinatra Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Oakwell in the 80's pissing against a wall in the open air, no urinals, no drains, no roof..............they were the actual toilets. Loads of shit grounds during the 80's. The Manor Ground at Oxford. It seemed to have about twenty different stands & each one held about 50 people. Looked like it was designed by a 5 year old & made of lego. Always liked Villa Park & Goodison Park. Highbury & Craven Cottage were decent.
Spudulike Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Twerton Park-Bristol Rovers old ground. Their current ground isn't much better.
RowlattsFox Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Peterborough and Luton probably qualify for my best and worst, I do enjoy a shithole. Enjoyed Blackpool, Southend, Scunthorpe, leyton orient for similar reasons. Stockport in league 1 was horrible, Even for a shithole. All I could think off was how have we become shit enough to be playing here.
J.Lisemore Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Rotherhams temporary Don Valley stadium, Jeff Schlupps game. Nice enough facilities I suppose, will always remember looking to my right and seeing thousands of empty seats that were probably last used 20+ years ago. Quite a strange experience after all the old traditional grounds I've been to previously.
FoxyJim1987 Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Colchesters old ground was worst ive ben to. Tiny squashed terrace and a cage at the sides meant i couldn't see half the pitch. It was january think we drew hume scored.
TJB-fox Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Really enjoyed Edgar street at Hereford in that L1 season and other small grounds like Yeovil. Hate Ashton Gate, horrific stadium with poles blocking your view most of the time

Lcfc_1995 Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Hereford was pretty bad considering there wasn't even a sink in the toilets to wash your hands afterwards
tom27111 Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Abbey Stadium, Cambridge. What a shit hole. Stood at the front, the paint on the railings was still wet. We got spanked 5-1 Sweet revenge in the play offs later that season.
BoyJones Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Any old FT's remember Holker Street late 60's, long journey, rubbish roads, no facilities at the ground, probably still mostly uncovered now. Took us hours to get their in an old hillman minx that weighed a ton. My overriding memory is of a grimey unloved ground. At least we won 2-1. Agree Harlow was another dump, with even worse memories score wise. Of course in the top five worst stadiums must be The Baseball Ground and Highfield Road. Grubby horrible little places. Internationally speaking, Luxembourg away takes some beating. Bascially no shelter or covering, it rained all match, didn't really mind getting drenched, but couldnt even get a hot drink. Obviously we won, but only 3-0. Never really been to a ground that I thought was brilliant. Emirates is user friendly but generates no fear factor among away players / fans.
isaidno Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Fratton park toilets take some beating nowadays Can't be as bad as Peterborough. Last time I went the urinal was a hole in the ground, which overflows after 10 minutes and leaves everyone paddling in their own piss
Soar Fox Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Give me a shithole stadium like Luton, Peterborough, Scunthorpe any day over a modern stadium that you get nowadays.
leftbackinthechangingroom Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Worst for me luton and grimsby hands down
Donut Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Roker park had a good atmosphere inside. Anyone remember the old Burnden Park with the supermarket?
adam Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Gillingham away under Adams (I think) .Lost 3-2. Some of the worst bogs I've ever seen .Terrible .
The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Give me a shithole stadium like Luton, Peterborough, Scunthorpe any day over a modern stadium that you get nowadays. What because they have "great character"
cambridgefox Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Abbey Stadium, Cambridge. What a shit hole. Stood at the front, the paint on the railings was still wet. We got spanked 5-1 Sweet revenge in the play offs later that season. The Shabby.Where the away fans are situated is the best part of the stadium now.
J.Lisemore Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 Gillingham away under Adams (I think) .Lost 3-2. Some of the worst bogs I've ever seen .Terrible . Seem to remember going to this, Marlon King with the winner? Have memories of Alan Rogers swinging some dangerous crosses in . Quite a few of us kids put right at the front, god knows how I even made it to the toilet and back

Quite a few of us kids put right at the front, god knows how I even made it to the toilet and back I'm not sure but I think we were winning 2-1 and conceded 2 late goals . Strange place Gillingham.
Great Boos Up Posted 8 September 2015 Author Posted 8 September 2015 Give me a shithole stadium like Luton, Peterborough, Scunthorpe any day over a modern stadium that you get nowadays. This! Character/Passion/Actually being rained on. Please elaborate with an experience or the kids will all go to identikit stadiums with clappers and never know.
Soar Fox Posted 8 September 2015 Posted 8 September 2015 What because they have "great character" Possibly yes. More character than the flat pack stadium we have along with Southampton, Derby and Coventry.
