Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 It can be frustrating when a midfielder looks up to knock the ball into space down the channel and it's Ulloa lumbering after it rather than Vardy, but he offers us a lot and if we can still play brilliant football with him in the team then it makes sense to use him. We've got so much movement and energy in the rest of the front six that to be able to accommodate someone who can hold it up and lay it off is fantastic. What on earth Janmaat was doing leaving him unmarked for his goal, I have no idea.
weller54 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 He had so much time at the far post before scoring yesterday he could have knocked one out first!

You could also ask yourself what Janmaat has done to get this far - whenever I see him play on TV, he acts like a liability (not just because of the league match at the KP last season). Looks so disinterested and clumsy.
Fox92 Posted 22 November 2015 Posted 22 November 2015 Was Quality today, got forward, got into good spaces, Got a goal, got an assist, caused problems, won his headers, Linked up play fantastically. 1000% Him and vardy are the better partnership. I know you're trying to make a point about Okazaki but Ulloa wasn't that good. Second half he was better but first half he was sloppy at times. Looked pretty slow and occasionally asleep. Everybody stood around me were getting frustrated with him. It was a brilliant ball for Vardy's goal, though. And then second half he got better. His link up play was better and he was actually flicking header's to Vardy. Before scoring a good goal himself. I love Ulloa as much as the next Leicester City fan but I've seen him play better than yesterday. I'm not looking to criticize any player after yesterday though because they were all superb.
NewEnglandFox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Leo plays and we figuratively murder our opponent. Who would have thought... Clearly the stats didn't allude to it.
Benji Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Wasteful again today but worth a lot to the team defensively at corners.
Countryfox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Leo plays and we figuratively murder our opponent. Who would have thought... Clearly the stats didn't allude to it. Not sure what you are getting at ..... did you watch the game ?
filbertstreet Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 ulloa fell over, shinji falls over tell you who doesn't fall over, kramaric, gaffer's missing out
foxfanazer Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 His defensive contribution alone gives him the nod ahead of Okazaki. Should've scored though
Number 6 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Should have scored. Still gets himself into much more dangerous situations than Okazaki though. Actually a goal threat and can help defending set pieces.
Countryfox Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 ulloa fell over, shinji falls over tell you who doesn't fall over, kramaric, gaffer's missing out As Sherlock would say "These are the facts" .... JV No1 striker ....... Leo/Shinji play alongside depending on who we are playing against, or share a match together ...... Kram doesn't get a look in.
Len Finsbury Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I was;t confident when he collected the ball. Looked a bit clumsy at times. I do wonder if this is down to match fitness and sharpness though. He hasn't played all that much this season in comparison to many others.
champselect Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 He is a slug, but defends set pieces well that's about it get shinji back in
foxes_rule1978 Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 He is a slug, but defends set pieces well that's about it get shinji back in But if we are still creating and scoring goals with Ulloa in the side but able to not concede then it makes us better with him, despite only being good defending set pieces
dylanlegend Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Provides a good partner for Vardy but does seem to slow the play down when he gets the ball. His main contribution is his defensive work from set pieces which tbh is better than most of our defenders. This contribution should not be underestimated and is why he should start ahead of Shinji
MooseBreath Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 If we're going to start him because his sole contribution was winning one defensive header at a corner then we might as well play wasyl up front. Turd today, and having seen the replays Thracian's earlier claims about him being involved in a goal today are wrong. He had no involvement in any of the goals. The team stats with leo in the side are because he has started the easy games against Newcastle and Swansea. Let's be honest we would have won both games with ten men. Take those games out and the stats look very different.

EverybodyDannsNow Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 Thought Ulloa was class today. Very good with his feet for a big man
Vindaloo FOX Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 held the ball up well, linked up the play, helped out at the back and played Mahrez in with a nice ball in the first half. should have scored but other than that did not do to much wrong. had a solid game.
ImBlue Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 I'm sure you're taking the Sunderland one out of Shinji's too then. That was his only good game! Before alladyce came in, they were heading for Derby's record! He will also choose to forget we were 2-0 down at home to the worst side in the league currently until Leo came on and won 3-2. The having a go at Ulloa is just evening things up for Okazaki trying to justify his inclusion. The fact we have won our last 3 games Ulloa has started, scoring 9 and keeping 2 cleans sheets is obviously not suiting the Okazaki lovers.

Take those games out and the stats look very different. You tried.... The truth of the matter is we're much better at getting the ball into the attacking third and defending/attacking set pieces with Leo on the pitch. Shinji on attack is like having 10 men. I don't know if you've realized this but Shinji is terrible at inserting himself in attacking play because he is pathetic at keeping possession of the ball. But you'll find a reason to overlook that for some reason...
ImBlue Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 How many times does moosebreath have to be put straight? The biggest I argument in the Okazaki thread is he compliments the team and the team is doing well with him in it so he can't be bad. You prove we have been (by far) statistically better without him, and still they persist. Yawn. Who needs to 'Okazaki' role when you have Kante in the middle anyway?
MooseBreath Posted 5 December 2015 Posted 5 December 2015 There's no reason to take Sunderland out. They weren't anywhere near as shambolic as Newcastle and Swansea have been. If you want to do it properly you'll have to adjust your stats to take into account every team we've played to show that Okazaki plays the tougher games. But there's no need for that because most people can see what both players offer and most people agree that we might be better off looking for someone new.
