Jimmy Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Leicester City have appointed Dave Worthington, the brother of legendary ex-player Frank, as their Spanish-based European scout. Worthington made 293 league appearances for Grimsby Town between 1966 and 1973 but has arguably had more success in scouting for six Premier League clubs. The 70-year-old scout was hired by Chelsea in 2007 before working in Portugal and Spain for Hull City's former boss Phil Brown. He has close ties to Sam Allardyce, having been the much-travelled manager's eyes in Spain, France and Portugal during his spells at Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham. He confirmed on social media this week: "Delighted to be working for my new club, Leicester City, my seventh Premier league appointment! "Hope I can bring some personal experience and some quality players to add to their miraculous endeavours from last season." Worthington claims to watch up to four games every week, travelling to matches by car and plane from his base in Barcelona. "I've had some great times and seen some fantastic games," he added. "Not just for work but also for pleasure. One of the perks of the job is living within travelling distance of the Nou Camp and the Bernabeu." - See more at: https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/new-euro-scout-for-foxes-1782123.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#sthash.vtDBmGyN.dpufRead more at: https://www.clubcall.com/leicester-city/new-euro-scout-for-foxes-1782123.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

lgfualol Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 So I guess he spotted Hernandez and Uche? Wonder who Walsh will steal next. Pure evil.

AKCJ Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Me when I see this thread at the top of the Leicester City forum. > Oh boy, hopefully we'll be able to sign some La Liga players who know how to pass the ball about. *Click" > Oh.
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Dave ..Brother of Frank Don't think he worked exclusively for Leicester. Seems he just watched games and gave the heads up should any player catch his eye. Suspect paid for leads
crazyleicester Posted 6 December 2016 Posted 6 December 2016 Its always unnerving when we lose backroom staff members even though I really dont know if they are any good or not. Its worse when its Walshy who is grabbing them as he is proved to largely be a good judge. Lets just hope we freshen things up and unearth a gem of two of our own. I really hope the scouts get the confidence of finding a couple of players who end up being good so we can lay the Walsh Ghost to rest once and for all.

If Hernandez is the best he could do in the past 12 months, i don't think he's going to be that significant a loss. Our French scouts are the ones we need to keep a hold of.
