Chairman of the Bored Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I did with O'Neill: I saw Kevin Davies make his debut for Chesterfield and wrote to him to tell him 'buy now. He never did obviously. I'm just about to write Ranieri about Moses Emanual at Bromley, the next Vardy to be sure. Anyone else put pen to paper recommending talent?
Stadt Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 kingfox wrote to the board recommending dan petrescu as manager
chrishlcfc Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Yeah I wrote to Peter Taylor to sign Akinbiyi, actually thought he got him on the cheap.
CharlieCharles Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Which manager would actually say, yeah lets sign that lad ive never heard of for a few million because some fan reckons he sick on football manager?
VLC86 Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I wrote to Pearson telling him to sign Mahrez and Vardy.
VLC86 Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 kingfox wrote to the board recommending dan petrescu as manager I heard he got fondled by a panther down the great central, Kingfox that is not Petrescu.
The Doctor Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Who was that poster who'd write repeated letters to Susan Whelan saying we should sign Freddy Adu?
Bayfox Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I considered writing to O'Neil after watching get Jamie ward play for Torquay. Knew he would go on and play at a higher level. Not to say he would have been class for us but a few months later he moved to Sheffield United for 300k and then derby for 1.5 million.
21st Century Fox Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 kingfox wrote to the board recommending dan petrescu as manager Who was that poster who'd write repeated letters to Susan Whelan saying we should sign Freddy Adu? Wasn't there that guy who claimed to be an agent, yet was writing letters to the club recommending Dan Petrescu and some blatant Football Manager finds? He seemed to be doing it without a shred of irony and got genuinely wound up whenever questioned. It was hilarious. I don't think this is the one I was thinking of but it's a good one: Here's a copy of a letter I sent to Susan Whelan in September this year: Susan Whelan Chief Executive Officer Leicester City Football Club Filbert Way Leicester LE2 7FL Dear Susan First of all I would like to say, welcome to Leicester City Football Club, I hope you have settled well into your new job. I am a big supporter of our Club and have supported them for sixteen years. I am writing to you regarding my opinions on the future of the First Team Management, I feel that it is better for supporters to bring their opinions and feelings to the Club's attention, rather than complaining to the media on phone ins, or moaning in forums. As you are most likely aware there has been speculation regarding the current First Team Manager's Sven Goran-Eriksson's position at the Club, there have been rumors in the press that his job is under threat, only you will know whether these rumors are correct or not. The main purpose of why I am writing to you is to bring to your attention the person who I really think the Club should strongly consider bringing in to replace Sven Goran-Eriksson, should him and the Club part company in the near or distant future. His name is Dan Petrescu and he is well known in this country from his highly successful playing career with Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea, Bradford City, Southampton and The Romanian National Team. He is currently the First Team Manager of a Club called Kuban Krasnodar, who currently plays in the top tier of Russian Football; he joined the Club at the end of 2009, following their relegation to the Second Tier of Russian Football. In his first season at the Club (2010) he won them instant promotion back to the Top Tier, winning the Second Tier by a nine point margin, they are currently lying in 6th place in The Top Tier and looked destined to finish in their highest position ever and could even potentially qualify for Europe. Before taking on the role at Kuban Krasnador, he was First Team Manager at a Club called Unirea Urziceni, who were based in his native Romania, the Club are no longer in existence after folding in July 2011. Dan joined the Club in 2006 following their promotion to Romania’s Top Tier, and they made excellent continuous progress under his reign, qualifying for The Uefa Cup in 2007/2008 for the first time ever, then the following season (2008/2009) they won the Top Romanian League again for the first time ever, qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in their history. The man is an absolute genius and if given the chance I believe he could bring wonders to our Club like he has in his current and previous job, I am of the opinion that if Sven-Goran Eriksson does leave us in the future there will be no better person to replace him than Dan Petrescu, he’s got highly successful playing and coaching experience, he’s fluent in English, knows the English game well, knows the European game well as well and he’s still relatively young for a Manager at 43 years old. I hope you take my views and opinions into strong consideration and if/when a vacancy for the First Team Manager’s arises, that you and the Raksriaksorn’s strongly consider Dan for the role.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I heard he got fondled by a panther down the great central, Kingfox that is not Petrescu. No that was Rolf Harris' Pet Rescue.
Vardinhio Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I wrote to the board telling them to sign Josh Low, turned out to be one of our best ever wingers for a short period of time IIRC.
Mark_w Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 I wrote to Nigel Pearson and told him to sign Lee Cattermole, the cheapskate went for Esteban Cambiasso instead.

I seemed to be doing it without a shred of irony and got genuinely wound up whenever questioned. It was hilarious. I don't think this is the one I was thinking of but it's a good one: I think that's who I was thinking of, he was obsessed with Adu wasn't he?
Webbo Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 If someone could write to CR and recommend he signs me on a salary of £30k a week there's a drink in it for you if he does.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 I wrote to Nigel re Jay Emmanuel Thomas and Lee Cattermole. (I didn't really but thought I'd beat you all to it) Edit..Mark w already has.....
AKCJ Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 Writing to the club, as a grown man, is just cringeworthy. Let them, the professionals, do their job. Do you honestly think they'll listen and not all have a laugh and pin it on the noticeboard?

Bellend Sebastian Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 If I hear a musical artiste I like is making a new album, I always send them a CD of some songs I've written, just in case they've not quite got enough material

dpjfox Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 i wrote to David Pleat when we had Kevin Campbell on loan saying we must buy him..he replied "would love tobut no chance of Arsenal selling"
