Countryfox Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Talked about it in the pub last night so have put it to the masses. Who are our top 5 players at the moment ? You can base it on what you like but lets just say in general. I'll give them points (5 top, 1 bottom) and see what the consensus is after totting up ... will be interesting to look back on as the season progresses. I'll start you off ... 1. Vardy (easy). 2. Mahrez (close but not close enough). 3. Kante (could move up a position in time. Star buy). 4. Drinkwater (replacement for the magic one ?). 5. Albrighton (underrated). Funnily enough no defenders ... Over to you.
CharlieCharles Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 1. Vardy (top goal scorer, tears up defences.) 2. Mahrez (5 goals, 3 assists isnt it already?) 3. Kante (looks quality when playing in the middle) 4. Dodoo (4 goals in 3 appearances.) 5. Matty James haven't seem him do much wrong this season.
filbertstreet Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 1. George Taft 2. George Taft 3. George Taft 4. George Taft 5. George Taft duh
AKCJ Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 1. Mahrez 2. Vardy 3. Drinkwater 4. Kante 5. Albrighton
Countryfox Posted 1 October 2015 Author Posted 1 October 2015 1. George Taft 2. George Taft 3. George Taft 4. George Taft 5. George Taft duh The Burton Albion/Cambridge boy ... Interesting ... He's on 15 points already !
Countryfox Posted 1 October 2015 Author Posted 1 October 2015 1. Mahrez 2. Vardy 3. Drinkwater 4. Kante 5. Albrighton You might be right ..
Sampson Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 1. Mahrez 2. Vardy 3. Albrighton 4. Kante 5. Drinkwater Really those 5 stand out comfortably ahead of other players so far this season. It's just a case of the order people put them in.
shen Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 I might be missing something, but Albrighton in our current setup hasn't exactly impressed beyond the first couple of games. I think Morgan however has upped his game considerably and has continued his good form from the tail end of last season. Yes, he's still displaying his flaws and he's part of a leaky defence, but I believe we would be even worse off without him. Huth hasn't excelled as we expected, so I think he deserves credit. King should also at least run Albrighton close for a "top 5" spot...
Crinklyfox Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Nobody's mentioned Schmeichel yet. He's made some decent saves.

King should also at least run Albrighton close for a "top 5" spot... He's constantly been putting dangerous crosses and passes in and is one of the top assisters in the PL. I don't think any of defence should be up there considering how leaky we are at the back.
Sampson Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Nobody's mentioned Schmeichel yet. He's made some decent saves. I don't think he's made any saves any average PL keeper wouldn't have made but he's also made some howlers and looked very dodgy flapping at balls at times. Hasn't he been the bottom rated player a couple of times already in the match ratings we do. I'd imagine he's one of our lowest rates players in that so far.
Benguin Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 My fave players are: 1. Schlupp 2. Vardy 3. Kante 4. King 5. Kasper My top 5 in terms of ability are 1. Vardy 2. Mahrez 3. Albrighton 4. Ulloa 5. Drinkwater

And no one has mentioned Shinji who I think is very underrated cus of the work he puts in which allows Vardy to really shine ... he pulls players all over the place to give Vardy much more room He's almost in my 5 spot

I'd sooner see Benny start than Morgan, he's the long term answer for me.
Fox92 Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 At the moment? Kante, Drinkwater, Vardy and Mahrez. Couldn't pick one from Huth or Morgan who have both been decent this season (although we have still conceded some soft goals). Mention for Kasper, too.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 I think Morgan went all Green Mile and inhaled some of Huth's ability in the preseason

Agreed, it is a strange one, he is playing almost exactly as he was before he got injured last season. When he returned he was a beast and an underrated part of our great escape. Lets hope he gets back to that form soon!
