Max Power Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Objectively a terrible player but he looked like he cared at least. God how bad were we in that period. Absolutely tragic football team.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 You clearly never watched Josh Low. To call him a competition winner does disservice to competition winners. Josh Low was shite just not as shite as Danny Tiatto!
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Andy Johnson was definitely worse.
HitchinFox Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Chaps, after enlisting your help for this article about Andy Impey last month https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/blast-past-no-9-andy-110646704.html I am now doing the same thing on Danny Tiatto. I will mainly be a Man City angle, but I couldn't miss out his time at Filbert Street. So if you have time to share your memories or opinions of the tough-tackling Aussie, please do so here. Thanks! You should be able to do that easily. He never played at Filbert fooking Street. That aside, I'm sure most here would agree that he only got a game (and the captaincy, if I remember right) as his period here coincided with the worst in the club's history. Full of endeavour and commitment (translate to: ran around kicking people to compensate for his lack of skill).
Dickov22 Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 It was like he had one foot pinned to the ground as he went around in a circle eventually losing the ball or fouling to retain it. Horrendous. I remember that move too. Sign. I remember it always used to annoy me that a lot of our fans seemingly liked him for being a 'trier'. I viewed him as a thug with no ability. Couldn't stand him
Tuna Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 FFS Tiatto was the best of a bad bunch! Always gave 100%.
The whole world smiles Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 People being a bit unfair on Danny here had a couple of good seasons not earth shattering but steady in a pretty shit team
Bayfox Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Josh Low?You for real?Sorry seems to have missed quoted the wrong post. Josh low. Rab c Douglas That twat from forest. The Yorkie bar kid.(Alan rodgers) Mark de freak. Elvis Oh come on. How shit was the time between 2004 and well now.
Corky Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 FFS Tiatto was the best of a bad bunch! Always gave 100%. Really? I'd say Hume was better.
Collymore Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Tiatto was a little terrier who packed a punch but also could play. I would say he was our best player in his penultimate season with us (before inexplicably fading in to oblivion - Australia) He would look very average in our team now, even at his height, but in our dross squad back then meant he looked brilliant at times.
Tuna Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 His name reminds me exactly why we deserved to be relegated to League One. Yet he didn't play in our relegation season.
TOMBlcfc Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 I can't remember his career for us in much detail but I'll always love him because he played a blinder (+ scored and got MotM) on my first ever leicester game
Aus Fox Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Who was worse? From that era or ever? From that era alone: Ran Douglas Steven Hughes Mo Mo Sylia Mark De Vries Ryan Smith Jason Wilcox Andrew Welsh Elvis kevin Pressman Scott Gemmill Chris Makin I could go on...
Finnaldo Posted 16 October 2015 Posted 16 October 2015 Yet he didn't play in our relegation season. I know. We deserved getting relegated for playing him and then replacing him with Matt Oakley and Stephen fvcking Clemence.
Kevin_Yahoo Posted 16 October 2015 Author Posted 16 October 2015 Many thanks for your help guys, the piece is now published: https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/blast-past-no-11-danny-082409736.html Sadly for Danny I had submitted it before a couple of the more positive comments were posted!
KFS Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Matt Eliott is a shout for best bald head, it was a bold (bald) claim from me that Tiatto had the best one. Kevin Russell played for City before I was born, so I'll have to rely on you there, chaps.
Jam Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Many thanks for your help guys, the piece is now published: https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/blast-past-no-11-danny-082409736.html Sadly for Danny I had submitted it before a couple of the more positive comments were posted! Good little article. What contrasting opinions between our lot and Man City!
Carl the Llama Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 Good little article. What contrasting opinions between our lot and Man City! They clearly have lower standards at Man City.
Saxondale Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 I remember him being a stand-out performer in a bad team.
wokinghamfox Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 His name makes me remember how shit we were. He won POTY - such a bad period. 2004–05 Danny Tiatto 005–06 Joey Guðjónsson 006–07 Iain Hume 007–08 Richard Stearman seeing those names makes me shiver!!
Foxile Posted 17 October 2015 Posted 17 October 2015 He was never going to grouped with the likes of Lennon, Elliot and co, but I don't understand the level of hate for the guy? He was a decent player for us, contributed in a time when many others were just wage collecting. He was nowhere near as bad as some are making out.
Rob1742 Posted 18 October 2015 Posted 18 October 2015 I remember seeing the Leicester City business plan from the days of Tiatto. Huge document with pages and pages of costs per department. The wages we had to work with to break even, based on an average gate was the sole reason we had to take chances on players like him. All the players we signed needed to be either young players that could possibly make it, Stephen Hughes, McCarthy, Kisnorbo etc, or experienced players that would be happy to play for around £2.5k a week. The experienced pros were clearly on the way down their career paths and we took gambles hoping there would still be something left in them, the likes of Tiatto, Johnson etc. A horrible time, but it was what it was. We didn't have any financial clout at that time and even with the type of player we could sign, I seem to recall we needed to hit the play offs to be able to break even. Luckily then Mandaric turned up. People moan about Mandaric, but he was a gambler, invested in us and created a club that enabled us to be sold to our current owners. Not entirely sure he was as bothered as he said he was with regards to who came in to buy us, but luckily we now have the owners that we have, who have obviously done a great job.
