Stevosevic Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 I may be wrong, but off the top of my head, i don't think anyone has scored a direct free kick for us since Knockaert at home to Sheffield Wednesday the weekend we were promoted. Is that correct? If so, that's more than 50 league games and 18 months ago. Is that a long time to go without having a player score a free kick or is that normal? I don't think i am forgetting one from last season....
Ric Flair Posted 15 October 2015 Posted 15 October 2015 Mahrez hit the post about 3 times last season from free kicks but that was it I think? Hopefully we get an absolute screamer from Fuchs or Inler this season.

How many free kicks have we had within 30 yards and are somewhere in front of goal this season? 2 or 3? Extends back into last season as well; there weren't that many.

Yeah - corner in, scramble and leo knocked it in - think the 25 games was without the scramble so corner in, headed straight in.

I wouldn't say it's a shock seeing as we're mostly a "wide play" style of team. If we were playing through the centre more we'd have more fouls and chances in those areas.

We haven't even scored any type of goal from outisde the box this season, it's something we should work on. I am still baffled by our set piece record as well. Wasyl, Huth and Fuchs all came to the club with the reputation of being goal scoring defenders and they have scored 2 goals between them in about 100+ games.
