Guest Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 It's not his job to defend. It's his job to create moments of magic which he does most games. If I'm a WBA full back I'd rather face Albrighton than Mahrez who drops his shoulder , goes left goes right etc. It's such an English football mentality to suggest we can't have a flair player who just solely concentrates on attacking. I don't even think he's lazy in defending anyway. It's a myth Of course it's his job to help defend. Football is a team game. If he plays on the wing he has to help cover that side of the field. Do you really think that Simpson or De Laet should be asked to defend against a winger and full back? If you do then you're not living in the real world. Yes he creates moments of magic and yes that is why he is there but he also needs to help defend, if he doesn't then we won't win.
suffolk fox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Only thing I worry about for this game is Pulis sending them out to play dirty. Especially that horrible oink Mclean. Hopefully Can get past the Pulis five man defence so I'm going 1 0 us. Another clean sheet and more Pizza.
Guest Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 He doesn't need to bomb forward if he has either Albrighton or Dyer in front of him. All he has to do is win the ball in the tackle play it forward to one of them. True but sadly he thinks he can attack and often gets in front of our winger and then is lost and a man out of position. He should never be ahead of the midfield on their half of the pitch.
AKCJ Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Babylon, look away now because you wont like this Claudio Ranieri's latest quote... "What we are doing here is like a pizza. To do well you have to have the right ingredients - players, team spirit, fans - and you need a sprinkle of good luck. "The fans are the tomato. Without tomato there is no pizza! The topping for all of us would be to get to 40 points."
sdb Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Think it's fair to say these 2 teams are polar opposites. Problem is style over substance rarely wins out and Pulis knows how to get results. Really think we can get something but fear for that 'could of' feeling come 5pm tomorrow.
jammie82uk Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Stat time West Brom have lost just two of their last nine league meetings with Leicester (W6 D1), although one of those defeats came last time out; 2-3 last April at the Hawthorns. Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 14 league clashes with the Baggies. West Bromwich Albion have won just two of their last six league games against Leicester City at the Hawthorns, losing four. The Baggies have lost just two of their last seven top-flight games (W4 D1), while they have registered five clean sheets in these matches. Indeed, since taking charge of his first West Brom game on Jan 10th 2015, Tony Pulis has seen his side keep 16 clean sheets; three more than any other side. Since April 4th 2015, the Foxes have lost just two of their 19 top-tier games (W12 D5) as well as picking up more points than any other side in that period (41). In-form striker Jamie Vardy has netted in each of his last seven PL appearances, a run bettered only three times before - Ruud van Nistelrooy in Aug 2003 (10) and Jan 2002 (8) and Daniel Sturridge in Feb 2014 (8). Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante has made a league-high 38 interceptions this season. All eight of West Brom's Premier League goals this season have come in either the 15 minutes before half-time or the 15 minutes after the break (four in each period). That haul of just eight goals this season for the Baggies is the joint-lowest total this season (along with Watford).

I Fully expect his to have the most in Europe by the end of the season (as long as he stays fit) there isn't anyone like him in the prem at the minute!
VLC86 Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Morning guys. Last time I was on here we was talking about certain sex acts on a trip to Thailand . Anyways moving swiftly on, Just wanted to touch upon the game tomorrow from a baggies perspective. First of I just wanted to say what a compliment your team has been to the league this year and I have enjoyed watching your style of football even if just on MOTD. I think you will have to much for us personally, pace and invention will over run us. If you score the worst you will get is a point as we just don't come back to win at home once conceding ( 3 years almost now in the league at home ). Schlupp tore Dawson a new one last season and your attacking prowl has just grown from then, huge fan of mahrez to. Were we may get something is good old pulis tactics, being physical and well organised with a good work rate and knicking one from a set piece, any result we do get tomorrow would be very surprising certainly to me, but it will come through stifling the game and destroying the flow of it. I will go either 1-0 from a corner or 1-3 to you boys. Enjoy your day out except 3-5 hope the weather picks up. Are you running Geoff Astle day again this year? Was a big hit last year

weller54 Posted 30 October 2015 Author Posted 30 October 2015 We're too fast, too talented and too racheled for this lot of plodders... 1-3... Vardy, Drinky and Mahrez.
johnny the fox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Why has the james McClean thread been locked? thought this forum believed in free speech? if this clown wants to attract attention he should get his wish....he likes to take a position to be offended then so should all of us..
filbertstreet Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Any streams available for the game? yeah it's on a ton of foreign tv channels http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/1613958/west-bromwich-albion-vs-leicester-city/

James McClean's personal stance has been discussed a few times, both on here and on the internet in general, and the thread mentioned has no direct connection with LCFC whatsoever.

You what? thousands of LCFC fans will be attending on saturday and by definition helpling to pay his wages ...and he will be making his "statement" by not acknowledging the war dead of the country where he earns his living.. A calculated insult....and it has no connection with LCFC ? ffs give me a break..

CosbehFox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Are you running Geoff Astle day again this year? Was a big hit last year Don't be daft - was a worthy cause last year
lifted*fox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 I really can't see any issue with his reasoning, tbh. I don't agree with all of the conflicts that Britain (I'm British) has been involved in either. The guy clearly respects the soldiers from the two world wars, he just doesn't want to wear the poppy because it also happens to represent a conflict Britain has been involved in that has directly affected the country where he comes from. Just because you go to work in another country doesn't mean you suddenly have to honour all of their traditions and sing their national anthems like they're your own. Plenty of people move to places for work where they might not necessarily agree with their ethics / traditions. He said: "We are coming up to Remembrance Day and I won’t wear a poppy on my shirt. People say I am being disrespectful but don’t ask why I choose not to wear it. "If the poppy was simply about World War One and Two victims alone, I'd wear it without a problem. "I would wear it every day of the year if that was the thing but it doesn't, it stands for all the conflicts that Britain has been involved in. Because of the history where I come from in Derry, I cannot wear something that represents that." Tony Pulis, the West Brom head coach, has admitted he respects McClean's decision but also said he did not believe in it.
johnny the fox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 Call me a racist, terrorist disrespectful immigrant or whatever you might, but I really can't see any issue with his reasoning, tbh. I don't agree with all of the conflicts that Britain (I'm British btw) has been involved in either. The guy clearly respects the soldiers from the two world wars, he just doesn't want to wear the poppy. just goes to prove a little knowledge is a dangerous thing..
lifted*fox Posted 30 October 2015 Posted 30 October 2015 just goes to prove a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.. I don't even care for your reasoning tbh. I know exactly how your argument will pan out and it's not even worth wasting my time on.
