Charl91 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Couldn't find a recent thread on him, so I thought he deserved one. Seems to be getting a lot of flack recently, with a lot of people saying he's not good enough. Personally I think he's a fantastic player; even when he's not on form with his crossing, he offers a lot with his pace and his great defensive cover for the full backs. Those balls he played in today were outstanding.
STUHILL Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Found it funny today reading comments about him crossing from any where and it being a waste. I think this is actually one of his key attributes, being able to delivery a quality ball from any where on the pitch. He is, and will continue to be an assist machine! Brilliant player and deserves more credit than he gets!

His ability to do that is certainly his best attribute, but he needs to know better when it's actually appropriate to do it rather than just pumping out crosses whenever he has the ball, even if every one before that has been a waste (Palace)

Those balls he played in today were outstanding. He was great today and he put in a serious and underrated shift in v Hull aswell. It's hard to get the point across how difficult it is to get quality balls in consistently when you are playing on the wrong side. For Mahrez playing on the right is fine as he cuts in to shoot with his left - he doesnt look to beat people and whip regular crosses in like Albrighton. I'm a huge fan even though he has had a couple of average games this season. On a wider scale in Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton, Schlupp and Kante I think we have 5 players all worth £10m+ Much much more in some of those cases.
MattGamble92 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I cannot think of many modern footballers at all who not only cross as much as him, but with as much quality as him. It seems to be a quite unfashionable way of doing things these days but he is proof that it can still be an effective weapon. Juxtaposed with Mahrez who prefers to cut in, i think it is a good mix.
Clever Fox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Albrighton is a fantastic player. We haven't looked back since he came into the side regularly. It's hard to believe we for him for nothing. He's similar to milner, younger and a better crosser of the Ball and Liverpool paid 30 mil for him. Some people don't understand what good wingers to a side, as well as their attacking ability they buy time for the defence and midfield to re organise when under pressure, by being the out ball and starting another attack. It's very difficult to be successful without good wingers and were lucky to have one of the best available.

Charl91 Posted 1 November 2015 Author Posted 1 November 2015 Milner was free as end of his contract? Probably means the Man City transfer.
dayday Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Reminds me of Steve Guppy, a no thrills winger who just puts great balls in the box.
Fox92 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Frustrating at times yesterday. First half he put in one decent cross I think, even his corners were poor. Improved though and second half he caught the eye, terrific cross for our first goal. I like Albrighton, he works hard, defends very well and I think as a full back you'd love having him in front of you. First touch is brilliant. It's great to finally have a winger again who can actually cross a ball!
Edingleyfox Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 We rightly hear so much about Vardy and Mahrez and rightly so.However Albrighton was everywhere yesterday setting up goals whilst supporting our full backs.Great player instrumental in the great escape last season nailed on starter every week surely.
davieG Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 56 touches, 13 crosses: Leicester star Marc Albrighton was superb at West Brom http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/10/31/56-touches-13-crosses-leicester-star-marc-albrighton-was-supe/?
maddog Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Best crosser of the ball in the Premier League. If he keeps crossing like that Ulloa is going to be loving the supply and start scoring again.
Mint23 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Many people talk about last years great escape and put it down to signing Huth, changing to 3 at the back and Cambiasso stepping up as a leader, what many people forget is that when we started winning it also coincided with Albrighton getting and taking his chance
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Looked absolutely knackered from the off, but the quality of his delivery was brilliant and two getting those types of assists is what he's all about. More effevtive than Dyer when he came on imo.
lcfcsnow Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Are they counting those lumps into the box from just past the half way line into the keepers hands as crosses though?
sdb Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Really rate him. People underestimate his pace and first touch, which are as good as his crossing.
bluesbrothers Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Dayday already said it, but he's the Guppy of the class of 2015.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 I like him but he was poor in the previous couple of games I saw him in before yesterday. Completed 0 crosses against Palace and only 50% of his passes. Much better yesterday - forget the two assists, the best bit of play was his ball down the inside left channel for when Vardy hit the post. One thing you do get from him is 100% every game (which to be fair could be said for most of our players).
Vindaloo FOX Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 this lad can play on the right, play on the left and his crossing ability is outstanding, also lets not forget we got him on a free, great bit of business. Mahrez praising Albrighton .
dominicmsb Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 His ability to do that is certainly his best attribute, but he needs to know better when it's actually appropriate to do it rather than just pumping out crosses whenever he has the ball, even if every one before that has been a waste (Palace) He may be following orders from the manager
foxfanazer Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Been a remarkable signing. Can't describe to you how underwhelmed I was when I saw we'd signed him. Wasn't at his best last week and for some parts of yesterday but the quality of that delivery for our first goal was world class. A very important player for us
Fox92 Posted 1 November 2015 Posted 1 November 2015 Really rate him. People underestimate his pace and first touch, which are as good as his crossing. His pace is his only downfall imo. He isn't as explosive as Mahrez, Dyer or Schlupp.
