Paul Merson was absolutely raving about him yesterday. Looking at other players for what they go for and the fact he's English then he's worth around £20-25 million.

that long ball pass late on in the second half yesterday right to left , I think it was on the half volley and found Albrighton , cant remember but it was bloody straight out the Gerrerd text-book .

Watching MOTD last night and one of his ball through's to Vardy was absolutely class. Him and Kante have been great for us, and they complement each other really well.

Any news on his injury, didn't over reach or anything seemed his hamstring just gave up on him, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing? Inler or King will have to slot in and good as King is and good as Inler might turn out to be doubt either will be able to reach the lofty standards Danny has set this season. Any news?

Hamstring the same as Schlupp according to RL via my son

Hamstrings are tricky ones, if it's just a twinge then probably one or two games but think if it was just a twinge he'd of tried to carry on for a while so think it probably went properly, but the fact it just looked like a normal step that did it rather than how you often see them go with over-reaching/at the end of big sprints concerns me. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Danny's been great but has been part of a genuine three in central midfield this season whereas Kingy and Kante had to do the job as just two in the centre tonight and for them both to contribute so well in beating the League champions was a massive achievement.

For all that though, as others have alluded to, we're now likely to be stretched by injuries to Drinkwater and Schlupp plus the suspension of Huth and I'm not convinced there's adequate replacements available.

Thankfully we've given ourselves a margin, especially with Manchester City playing Arsenal next but it's going to take all our character to get through to January collecting points at the same rate. But then we've faced up to all our other challenges so why not?

I'm struggling to think of a game we haven't set up 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, Danny and Kante have started in the middle together for the last 10 games or so with either 2 up top or one just off Vardy and 2 out and out wingers.

I was referring to central midfielders rather than wingers.

Until Ulloa's return, Shinji's mostly operated as a supplementary central midfield player albeit mostly in front of the other two.

Indeed I was surprised he wasn't utilised til late on today.

Ulloa looked knackered (not that he was alone) and the game was started to get disturbingly stretched at times. But Ranieri's strategy worked and served to nullify Chelsea again in the last 10 minutes and I can only congratulate him.

Love the positive conclusion, but think you're overstating the impact of Huth and Schlupp. Schlupp has not played for a few games and with Dyer in the wings I think we're covered ok. Huth is a blow, but easily the most replaceable of our back four (big lad with elbows-Benny or Was can do that all day). DD is a big loss, but I was impressed with Inler when he came on, and King was like the beating heart of the team. He did everything quietly and without fuss. Not that I don't wish DD speedy recovery, but I think we should be ok. Not playing any big teams anyway are we?

Agreed. So glad Inler took his chance tonight. In terms of being the pivot who can distribute the ball, both King and Inler can do the job. And I have faith Inler can rise to the occasion against "big sides", which is what he was supposed to help us do and is what in theory he brings the most to the table.

This team has good depth -- only concern is if Simpson gets hurt. Really do need depth at RB.

Wonder if we'll see Matty James on the bench...

Doubt it. No way he is ready for even 5 minutes of Premier League game time against Everton.

I would like to see Inler given a shot, Kante is playing so well you don't need to do much as the other CM so a good opportunity to see what he can do without the pressure. Remember even Cambiasso took time to adapt to the league.
