Everton v Leicester City post match thread 2 - 3

Don't know what all this stuff about Everton being on form is about. They haven't beaten a top half team all season.

They did look dangerous though. But I suspected their first half intensity wouldn't last and it didn't. We were the better side 2nd half and deserved the three points.

King and Albrighton both a bit disappointing, and Ulloa obviously for missing an absolute sitter yet again which could have been so costly.

Okazaki MOTM. One well won penalty and a great finish for his goal capped his usual combative contribution, which was even more important than usual given how anonymous King was behind him.

Shinji REALLY stepped up today, in a major way. Box to box and actually looked defensively assured despite our shakiness due to a mix of fresh faces and facing a terrifying Everton front line. Best game in a Leicester shirt for the man from Japan, and my Man Of The Match.

Thought Was did alright stepping in with little gametime. We were always going to struggle against this Everton side defensively, and I'd go as far as to say that they're the only team besides Arsenal to really outplay us this season. Proud of the whole team for their resolute attitude and for ultimately grinding out an ugly 3 points. Feels slightly smash-and-grab given two were penalties, but when we got our chances we took them with aplomb.

We only really had 4 big chances up-front: 2 resulted in penalties, 1 resulted in Shinji's goal and 1 drew a massive save from Howard with Ulloa through. We are terrifyingly clinical when we get a sniff of goal.

I love this team. Knowing that those on the sidelines can step up and put in a shift, and that we can find that extra gear to dig in for results as well as having the ability to dominate is wonderful.

We're top at Christmas folks. Top. At Christmas.

Been thinking it for a few games now, but Fuchs is the best LB in the league. He's not mentioned much in the media, but he defends brilliantly but his touch and passes are as good as anyone's.

64th birthday today, and the greatest present I could have asked for. I will post some silly shit on here later as I get so pissed, so apolgies now. I love you all. Cmon City, we can do this, takeme to europe next year.

MOTM between Morgan and Fuchs!

Defended superbly. Maybe got opened up a bit too much on the left after Albrighton went off for Dyer but other than that brilliant!

Hopefully he does his job like that more often now. played well 2nd half.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Usual service will be resumed soon enough.

We really can't seem to shake this habit of winning games.

Even with players missing, not at our best and up against

one of the form teams in the league we still win.

Momentum is a wonderful thing

The last 5 minutes was so bloody nervous so I decided to hang my washing out then I heard the neighbours cheering so I knew it was safe to go back in.This is unbelievable!
