Everton v Leicester City post match thread 2 - 3

I reckon someone must have slipped some Valium into my beer I was that calm because I felt we were in complete control the last 10/15 minutes. Everton looked like they had ran out of ideas and we're going through the motions while we comfortably dealt with anything that came into the box, they looked beat. Obviously the late goal changed that but up to that point I thought we were doing a great job at seeing the game out bearing in mind I'm usually a nervous wreck unless we're about 5 up.

Was there many City fans in the home end yesterday? Because after Okazaki scored, in the replay from behind the goal on my stream, they seemed to be a fair few people jumping to their feet in the main stand.

Did anybody get any video from the celebrations after Mahrez's 2nd penalty? That was the best version of the Mahrez Zombie Nation chant I've ever heard.

Our away end was absolute top drawer yesterday!

We did a right number on them in the 2nd half, that was a masterclass in a game that we were struggling in but still well and truly in it. We weathered the storm and then bull hammered them. Martinez is always spouting off, his Everton team is under-achieving and I'd sack the twat.

Angling for a move to a bigger club (us).

He wouldn't be a bad addition but my gosh is his shooting on his right leg poor. lol. Amazing that our squad is so good that a player like that wouldn't really get a look in. This is an amazing season!

Pissed about the "handball".

I've not seen Vardy's injury yet. Has there been any update on it?

He was kneeling in a post match photo so I think he's fine, just taken off as a precaution since we were winning 3-1 at that point.

An excellent result. Very pleasing.

I thought first half Everton dominated, we didn't really threaten other than the penatly.

Second half we were much better.

Okazaki MOTM for me but Fuchs, Morgan and Mahrez all stood out.

We need to get Shinji in the gym though. He was easily dismissed off the ball quite a bit yesterday, despite playing really well in other areas. :)

Just saw Leo whilst walking the dogs in Abbey Park ....    stood there like a tool and didn't say a word.  Thought afterwards perhaps a big smile, thumbs up and a  'Top of the League !!' shout would have been good, but by then he was long gone.    What would you quick witted lads have said .......   ????

Just read this and Sometimes I do wonder if the people who review games actually watch them

3 examples below all from the same review of the game

(1) By the 27th minute, Foxes were ahead and maestro Mahrez began stacking new numbers on to an already impressive set of stats.

Mahrez himself was brought to ground after Ramiro Funes Mori got wrong-side of him in the box.

But he got up to wrong–foot Everton keeper Tim Howard from the spot.

(2) Howard over-thought the problem and then over–committed — as opposed to standing his ground — and his 65th-minute dive sent Vardy tumbling.

Keeper Howard was outwitted again, this time going right instead of left, as Mahrez showed wonderful composure to roll the ball into the other corner for his 13th Prem goal this season.

(3) Substitute Kevin Mirallas then offered Everton hope of rescuing a fourth-successive draw after Barkley back–heeled brilliantly into his path.

But Mirallas’ late left-footer only made Leicester dig deeper, as Howard had to make a desperate stop from Ulloa to prevent conceding a fourth.

Does anyone have a close up of Albrighton celebrating the third goal? Looked like he crouched down like a sumo wrestler, probably to honour Shinji :D
