Great stuff from City today, tough game and all our team battled well. Thought the Ref had a shocker though, how the keeper stayed on after 'denying a clear goal scoring opportunity ' is beyond me...

Up the City......

Scenes at Goodison!

We are the only team in premier league history to be bottom on Christmas Day and top the following Christmas Day.

Is that true? I've heard it banded about but not that it is the truth.

10/1 for title now..

lol Absolute bargain really. 5 points clear on the 19th of december. I know it's fairly unlikely but Man United could have the exact same squad and be clear favourites.

Defenders worked SO hard tonight, awedome efforts.. is there anywhere to watch MOTD on line?,(dont have a tv in my Liverpool digs)

Fvcking thieving Scousers.

What a difference a year makes, This time last season it had looked bleak!!

I was actually still confident, I thought we were playing well again after getting rid of the diamond. The Hull game broke me, thought we were gone... Wtf has happened since then!!!

What a brave win. Ranieri picked exactly the team i hoped he would for an away match against what I considered one of the top two most difficult teams for us to beat this season and what a result.

Three goals and several half decent chances against a team that covers and tackles tenaciously. I hope the fans give everyone the credit they deserve because we were never going to get away with being pretty.

Today's was always going to be a game of attrition and, from our point of view, the hope of some dangerous breakaways.

Having sung the merits of Ulloa in recent games it struck me that the Everton defence might have more trouble against Shinjy than the big man and I think that view was justified. The fact that he could help Kingy and Kante a bit more in the attrition stakes was a bonus.

Not that Shinjy was brilliant but I've talked about effect and he dug in there to win that first and vital penalty. Then he was first to the ball for his half-chance third and the goal that won the match. Happy days.

Mahrez with two penalties plus an assist and Vardy with two assists, wrote another significant chapter in their contributory history but, yet again, this was a team win and one that was well deserved.

Okay Everton scored twice and some might point to the absence of Huth. But I don't think anyone was desperately at fault defensively. Once again we restricted a very talented attack to nibbles. The goals they got were defended. The ball cannoned too and fro,. You can concede goals in that way but I still thought our back line was excellent and our covering just as solid.

Some might say the absence of Drinkwater cost a bit of rhythm but I don't think so. King and Kante were sound, Albrighton like a faithful helper to Fuchs and Mahrez well, two goals however they're scored stand strong against anything but that's what he's about.

So, for me, in boxing terms a well deserved points win in the manner I anticipated. Ugly but effective. And, like i say, there were two or three decent outfield chances too so I don't see Everton have anything to complain about. Such a shame United lost. Five points clear at the top and nine clear of Man U is like the world's best Christmas carol in my ear.

Kante, Morgan, Mahrez  arguably the men of the match but Was didn't do badly in helping contain Lukako and all four had such solid support.

The pundits can say what they like but this is a very capable Leicester team in lots of ways and damned difficult to beat whatever the situation. People say they can't do this or that but they absolutely can!

Challenging for top became joint top, joint top became two points clear and two points clear became five points clear. Can we win the title? The way we're going we could win the title by an innings, the same as we did in The Championship!

At least that's how I'm going to see things over Christmas!  :scarf:  :scarf:

The question is when are the pundits going to stop saying we haven't got enough strength in depth to win the league? Because that theory has been debunked today.

Last season we were never far off being a bad team lets be honest. Being 20th for so long was a false position.

I knew we were good, and that we could push for the top half, maybe top 7 this season, but none of us would have anticipated being top with a 5 point cushion at this stage lol

No reason why it can't continue either.

To be fair Merson, Thompson and Nicholas on sky said "it is now time to give them the respect they deserve. Top four is a reality".

We did well to beat them because in a way they play a bit like us. They even came back from behind like we do (once). But they are not as good as us! Haha

Think it's fair to say now, we had a dip in form when we first got promoted. We're back to our normal league dominating form now! lol

That's what I kept repeating, that we aren't far off being a good team... Did not expect this ha.

This is absolutely amazing. Truly superb times to be a Leicester City fan. I think Okazaki could carry on now and score a few more goals, following him netting today. Hopefully that'll be a massive boost for him. That goal was a very neat finish in my opinion too. And, another positive from the game it that not only does Vardy score goals, but he also provides goals for others too which is a very good attribute to have. Mahrez great again with two goals, 13 goals he's on now, plus assists, sensational!

A mention for Wes Morgan as well who has been great this season, he's put in some fantastic performances and in my view he looks an accomplished Premier League defender now. Top of the BPL at Christmas, 5pts clear, 2pts from safety. It's really outstanding and I'm so happy right now for everyone involved with Leicester. The fans. The team. The staff. It's a remarkable achievement to be the league leaders at this stage and hopefully we can carry on this momentum. I think we can.

Gerard Deulofeu is the biggest bitchboy in the top flight, what a minty little tinman

Loved when he tried to do a Ronaldo with step overs but Fuchs took it calmly off him. Nearly as good a moment as the goals for me :)
