Fire again near Abbey Park

Recommended Posts

Posted

Can see smoke and flames from ASDA, sirens, fire engines and oilier everywhere.

Anyone got any idea what's cracking off?

Third in the area in only a few months it seems.

Edit: can actually see the flames over rooves from my flat at bradgate Street / blackbird road so it's obviously not as far as Melton Road which I first thought. Must be near St Mags kinda way?

As far as I understand it started at some sofa place and has spread to the temple next to it.

I work as a carer for a young lad with autism who lives right opposite (behind the Ghandi statue) and we were getting the bus to Loughborough just after it started. Forgot it was bank holiday so had to wait for half an hour so managed to see much of it unfold.

Couple of big explosions, at least 7 fire engines went by and a couple of ambulances. Loads of police - blocking off side roads and shepherding people who have wandered down to get a closer look (and those wandering by a burning building without having noticed. People amaze me).

Someone seems determined to burn down all the old factories in Leicester

Posted

Insurance?

I used to work in one of the factories that have gone. The company was still there in fact, so I'm quite gutted as I knew them all well.

The factories are all rented out into small units. Mostly clothing, a printers, there was a car place, a temple and a furniture place.

I worked there for ages and we said quite a few times we were amazed the place hadn't gone up with the sort of machines used around there and the general not give s shit attitude.

The land alone was worth a lot as it has prime riverside location for development.

Nice of you to delete my posts

You're accusing people you don't know of committing a crime, which is liable. You're lucky you didn't get a ban.

Infact I do know them...

Your committing liable in saying I don't know them, your lucky you didn't get a ban too.

You still can't go on the Internet and accuse people of committing a crime, even if you do know them you muppet.

You probably don't know them anyway, you got a history of being a lying little shit.

Luckily for you it was Webbo who tidied this up, I'd not have been nearly as generous!

If this is the case then have you reported this to the authorities?

It is  like people I have known saying they knew of factories employing illegal immigrants or people fiddling benefits. I say to them,  report them then. But they never do. Their excuse, 'Well nothing will be done cuz the authorities are too scared.

If you know who is responsible or any  information report it. You can do it anonymously. Withholding information is also a crime.
