De Jong, 31 last month, has featured in only five games for the Italian side this season and it's understood Milan are prepared to let the Dutch star leave even though he signed a three year contract extension last summer. Ranieri believes he needs reinforcements for the second half of the season as Leicester try to maintain their title chase.

Guest Col city fan Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Am I again the only one who thinks signing DeJong might not be 'a master stroke'. He's played five games all season for Milan..why? Has he been injured? And why do they want to let him go? We have done so well this season by playing younger, fitter, more energetic midfielders with a point to prove. Do we really want to get another player who has had his best days, from Italy to come to play in the Premiership? Its reputation again going before people really thinking, I suggest. Breel Embolo..I get, Januzaj, I get. Miralles, I get. DeJong? No I don't get.
MooseBreath Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 If Inler leaves then de Jong would be a good short term replacement. If Inler doesn't leave then we don't need him.
Kitchandro Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 De Jong is shit. We don't need a replacement for Inler, Inler has been a failure. I'm not sure what the obsession is with slow spoilers. Kante is the perfect example of what a defensive midfielder should be. You don't need to be a dirty useless fvcker to play that role.
MC Prussian Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 If Inler leaves then de Jong would be a good short term replacement. If Inler doesn't leave then we don't need him. A bench-for-bench replacement, you mean?

Late night posts are sometimes the most hilarious ones. I still wonder why people come to the rash conclusion that a player has been a "failure" after having him seen three times in the league for a total of two hours of pitch action.

Can we move on from MC loves Inler and onto a more objective discussion. We know..

dannythefox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Don't want de long it's a sideways move and he won't be happy not playing all the time. I'd rather go for a number 10 sigurdsson maybe?
st albans fox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Can we move on from MC loves Inler and onto a more objective discussion. We know.. De Jong has already won a PL title. He knows what it takes to play here. that's the difference col.

Guest Col city fan Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 De Jong has already won a PL title. He knows what it takes to play here. that's the difference col. I do understand mate. But don't agree I'm afraid. I'm not saying DeJong hasn't been one of the best DM's for many years..he has. But I ask again...why do AC Milan seem to want to bin him off so readily? It's not like they are the AC of old is it? I'm almost always for recruiting younger, leaner, fitter players with a point left to prove in the game, than a bloke who's past his best, has won all there is to win and would not 'fit' into our style of play. Leave DeJong alone IMO. Even if he's available on a free..get James back fit, get King featuring again if we need to and keep doing what we are doing. It's working.

Well he's been garbage every time we have seen him on the pitch. Also he is an aging player, we spent good money on him just to sit on the bench whilst his value depreciates. All in all he has been a bad buy for us so far, Andy King gets on before him so he's 4th choice and probably soon to be 5th choice when James is fit. In hindsight he's been a bad buy for us.

You want 'younger and fitter', but you want players 'with a point to prove'. Mo'N used players with 'a point to prove' they were always older, which I suggest is usually the case! ( Like De Jong }.

Mo'N used players with 'a point to prove' they were always older, which I suggest is usually the case! ( Like De Jong }. De Jong is 31 and can't get in a very average Milan side. I'm always wary of players who have had good careers and we take whilst they're on a downward trajectory. De Jong raises a few red flags just like Inler did and that didn't work out well for us.
Richard Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 De Jong has experience of challenging for the PL, that is vital if we actually want to give it a go. Only Robert Huth has won one of the top 5 leagues in our squad
NewburyFox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Can't say I've seen much of him since he left England but there's got to be a reason he's not starting for Milan, who have been rubbish for a few years. With Kanté, Drinkwater, King, Inler and James soon to return, I really don't think we need another CM.
Stevosevic Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 We'd beat Milan and he can't get a kick for them.
Guest Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Ummm. Cambiasso? you just made Col's point perfectly, without him risking a ban.
dylanlegend Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 Not keen on being linked with players like this. On paper he looks good but on the pitch is a different matter- Sven type signing? I wonder if this is a Walsh or Ranieri signing. Plus if Drinky and Kante stay fit do we really need him?

Think ts unfair to say Inler hasn't worked well for us at this point in time... he's no doubt contributing in bringing the best out of Kante and Drinkwater and I have no doubt he will have a bigger part to play at some point this season. Not every signing hits the ground running and it could be that with time he becomes a very useful signing for us - something that we may not fully see until next season?
KP Fox Posted 13 December 2015 Posted 13 December 2015 De Jong has experience of challenging for the PL, that is vital if we actually want to give it a go. Only Robert Huth has won one of the top 5 leagues in our squad No! We've got Kante. We don't need that dirty baztard at our club. We like to keep all 11 players on the pitch like we've been doing all season because we're disciplined.
