Stevosevic Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 In December 2013, Spanish football website El Gol Digital ranked De Jong tenth in its list of the world's dirtiest footballers.[41] This style of play earned him a title as the most violent footballer in the world, according to French newspaper L'Équipe.[42]
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Milan Champions League, first offer of Leicester for De Jong He has long talked about and De Jong 's return to the Premier League after the experience at Manchester City, is more than a possibility. On his trail is the Leicester , currently at the top of the standings with Claudio Ranieri on the bench. Colleagues of the Sunday Peoplereported that the deal between the two clubs is already well underway. Even would also came the first offer of the English club, 2 million pounds, which would be almost EUR 3 million. The request of Milan is about 5 million euro, but the feeling is that the transaction will close shortly at a figure somewhere between supply and demand, as often happens in these cases. At 31, with a contract until 2018, the operation would be very positive for the club via Aldo Rossi in the light of renewal and rejuvenation of the resulting pink. De Jong is no longer covered in the projects of technical and tactical Mihajlovic and therefore a sale becomes inevitable. The farewell of the median Dutch may involve a small income in economic terms and a salary savings (almost 3 million net per year) releasing even a place for a possible new purchase to the midfield department in need of grafts. https://www.milanlive.it/2016/01/03/milan-arriva-lofferta-del-leicester-per-de-jong-i-dettagli/
Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Surely the deal here is a straight swap for Inler? Both the same age and surplus to requirements at their current clubs, a good deal for all parties on the face of it.
kingfox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Nothing really concrete. If this comes about though at least he knows the league and will fvck up some midfielders.
johnny the fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 If not him what about Cattermole No chance of getting the wearside zidane im afraid..
Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 It would be good if we got El Ghazi, the Dutch Ronaldo and played 4-5-1 with El Ghazi and Mahrez on the flanks and Kante and DD with De Jong sitting in front of the defence.
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Here we are again moaning about someone like De Jong signing for us. We're not in the CL yet. Ranieri sees Inler isn't good enough. No messing. He's gone. If De Jong comes he'll add steel and experience. Both needed. Ok, anything else you see in your crystal ball you'd like to tell us about?
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Surely the deal here is a straight swap for Inler? Both the same age and surplus to requirements at their current clubs, a good deal for all parties on the face of it. Another enlightened one. Since when is Inler "surplus to requirements"? We've got a FA Cup game coming up, with him likely being a starter. Why would people want to sign a 31-year old CDM when we already have one on the club's books? This is insane logic!
Stevosevic Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 They are both DMs but De Jong has pace and can carry the ball better than Inler, so he will probably suit us more.

hornyhollthefox123 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Cannot see this happening. Wouldn't start over drinkwater or Kante currently and then we have Inler , James , King also. Even if Inler did leave - would de Jong be happy sitting on our bench?

I don't think he'd play every game but he would be more of a useful tool for us than Inler.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Not ANOTHER thread hijacked by MC's love-in of Inler. It's got very boring. Personally, as I said weeks ago, I'd steer clear of another player from the Italian League whose parent club want to get rid. Again.....AC Milan are not much good these days. We'd beat them..I'm pretty sure. So ask yourself then, why they want to offload DeJong and why we'd want him at our club? Does it make sense, really?
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Haven't got much to lose if it's a replacement for Inler really, I was hoping that he (Inler) would come good but in all honesty he's done nothing so can't get much worse.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 has de Jong got the legs to really press anymore? has de Jong got the legs to play in a midfield 2? If not then he is another Inler/Cambiasso, a good player but only really useful in a midfield 3 or a 4-1-something-something. How many times have we played like that this season... not many.

Could be really handy closing out tight games. I don't think he's expected to start games. I would imagine he would come here to offer vital experiance & to give us a different option if needed.

Vindaloo FOX Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 if we replaces him for Inler I would take my hat off to CR and his team, Big Nige knows the league well unlike Inler and also unlike Inler he will not be taking part in the Euros so next season he will be fresh ready to go again. but I feel this is all paper talk and the transfer will not happen.

My Nads Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Am I again the only one who thinks signing DeJong might not be 'a master stroke'. He's played five games all season for Milan..why? Has he been injured? And why do they want to let him go? We have done so well this season by playing younger, fitter, more energetic midfielders with a point to prove. Do we really want to get another player who has had his best days, from Italy to come to play in the Premiership? Its reputation again going before people really thinking, I suggest. Breel Embolo..I get, Januzaj, I get. Miralles, I get. DeJong? No I don't get. No you're not the only one. It's a horrible Sven type signing, but I don't believe it anyway seeing as Claudio said we would be signing young players. Please don't be true!...all of my CR reservations will come back if we sign players like this. It was this kind of thing that made me worried about CR appointment in the first place.
