Ric Flair Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 Me neither - we need to maintain our tempo. With Schlupp out we seem to have lost some and looked tired later on against both Chelsea and Manchester United. Yes, I know you might expect it but having people on the bench who can terrorise tired opposition defenders means we don't have to soak up more pressure than is necessary. Pace on the counter-attack is a key weapon for us. Dyer should have come on last night, his pace would have ran down the minutes far more comfortably.
Fox 4 Life Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 I agree, Claudio took too long to make changes. Okazaki and Dyer are the perfect players to bring on in that situation as they have so much energy and we needed a boost. Can't criticise as he has been flawless but it's almost like he has gone completely against his tinkerman roots here
foxes21 Posted 15 December 2015 Posted 15 December 2015 Nampalys Mendy anyone? We nearly signed him in the summer. Exactly like Kante in the makelele mould, so he would be the perfect replacement for Kante if he gets injured.

filbertway Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 Man my european football knowledge is not what it used to be, I haven't even heard of half of these players that crop up never mind naming their team or seeing them play.
Nod.E Posted 16 December 2015 Posted 16 December 2015 De Jong is shit. We don't need a replacement for Inler, Inler has been a failure. I'm not sure what the obsession is with slow spoilers. Kante is the perfect example of what a defensive midfielder should be. You don't need to be a dirty useless fvcker to play that role. Ridiculous.
Callabinho Posted 17 December 2015 Posted 17 December 2015 How can you suggest Inler has been a faluire when he has hardly had a kick?
LCCFox96 Posted 17 December 2015 Posted 17 December 2015 Nampalys Mendy would probably be a superior shout to De Jong.
americanfox Posted 17 December 2015 Posted 17 December 2015 Nampalys Mendy would probably be a superior shout to De Jong. A midfield with Nampalys and N'Golo together would be ridiculously frightening. For us because my eyes can't move that fast. For opponents because seriously what the ****.
AKCJ Posted 17 December 2015 Posted 17 December 2015 How can you suggest Inler has been a faluire when he has hardly had a kick? This, this, this and this. He's played 127 minutes of Premier League football and has had to cover for two players that are playing at a title-winning standard.

I've just looked at his stats this season, he doesn't make many interception or tackles. He rarely loses the ball but doesn't really trouble the key passes stats which indicates when he gets the ball he takes the simple passing option. A player like that really need to be making a lot more interceptions and tackles.

He's played 127 minutes of Premier League football and has had to cover for two players that are playing at a title-winning standard. Hasn't looked great though has he? Aside from that one first time volleyed pass out wide on his debut I've been underwhelmed to say the least. Touch looks poor and his pass completion over more than 5 yards must be < 20%. Skewed it out for a throw in twice in his 20 minutes against Chelsea alone and both times he was under no pressure. Kingy is the better option imo. You know what you're getting from Andy King

As long as Walsh is heavily involved in happy with whoever he suggests. Unsure if De Jong is Walsh recommendation or not

Unsure if De Jong is Walsh recommendation or not Comparing him to Kante this season and last season there's no comparison. Kante retrieves the ball 2-3 times as much and also does much more offensively with it as well. Mendy retains the ball more but I don't put much relevance in that stat as Kante tries to do more with it. It's quite easy to have good stats if all you ever do is make a sidewards pass. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#ligue_1/2015/2016/nampalys_mendy/167/167/3285/0/p|premier_league/2015/2016/n$golo_kanté/165/165/14999/0/p|ligue_1/2014/2015/nampalys_mendy/167/118/3285/0/p|ligue_1/2014/2015/n$golo_kanté/118/118/14999/0/p#tackles_won/interceptions/key_passes/chances_created/pass_completion#90

NotTheMarketLeader Posted 24 December 2015 Posted 24 December 2015 Ridiculous. The above comment was made when it was suggested Inler has been a failure as a signing for us, which undoubtedly he has. Don't understand why you've replied 'ridiculous' on that assessment?

Don't understand why you've replied 'ridiculous' on that assessment? Presumably Vardy was a failure of a signing because he didn't adapt within four months of joining?Long term he might well be viewed as a failure, but to declare that after so few minutes about a man who is being kept out mainly by two people playing exceptionally well is just, well stupid quite frankly. It's almost like no lessons have been learnt over the last few years, when more than one player has had a slow start.

You know what you're getting from Andy King What bothers me about King is the prospect of keeping the ball more and not giving the opposition anything like as much chance as they usually get. Plus the idea of having another sound player to go with the other two. There could be a steward's inquiry at the very least!

The Vardy comparison holds no water. He was a young former non league player and taking time to adapt, if at all, was to be expected. Inler was a marquis signing. An international captain with champions league experience. The 'Champion' that Ranieri was looking for after Cambiasso's departure. The fact that he has not been able to get a kick means that he has been a failure. He is a thirtysomething palyer in decline and whenever he has played he has looked bang average. 0 Quote MultiQuote Top

EarlBeaumont Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 According to la gazetta dello sporte, Leicester isn't satisfied with the level of Inler. Therefore, they are willing to get Nigel De Jong (31). AC Milano is OK with that, still according to them. What do you think?
EarlBeaumont Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 My bad, already posted. Can someone delete this ?
