dylanlegend Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 At least he can time a tackle, unlike N'Golo:
MPH Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I'm concerned that should we sign him that we will be going away from the young hungry point to prove and a place to get to type of signing that has been a big success so far for us...
Fox42 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I'm concerned that should we sign him that we will be going away from the young hungry point to prove and a place to get to type of signing that has been a big success so far for us...Dude, we're about to sign a 19 year old.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 At least he can time a tackle, unlike N'Golo: Nigel de Hong (Kong Phuey)
Nick Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He'd be good for us as a squad player for a couple of seasons. Kante and Drinks can't do it alone all season.
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He'd offer more than Inler, plus he's won the league, he could be the difference between Europa and champions league?
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Presumably Vardy was a failure of a signing because he didn't adapt within four months of joining? Long term he might well be viewed as a failure, but to declare that after so few minutes about a man who is being kept out mainly by two people playing exceptionally well is just, well stupid quite frankly. It's almost like no lessons have been learnt over the last few years, when more than one player has had a slow start. It's this "instant gratification" attitude that grates me, some football fans seem to have this unreal notion that whomever player joins a club, he's got to click instantly. He has no shortcomings, no weaknesses, he's a superhuman being and the team he's joining a fledgling imp. Turns out a regular squad usually consists of 23+ players and football is played with eleven men. The manager picks his team. Period. The same people moaning about the transfer fees paid when "big-name" players join a club: That's the part of the game, the market dictates. Finding gems for cheap like Mahrez is both time-consuming and a rarity and sometimes based on sheer coincidence. Let's not forget Walsh initially had set his eyes on another player when he went scouting in France!!

But as a fans everyone has an opinion and even if you have to be really lucky and it's really time consuming to find a mahrez or a Vardy or a kante they are out there and why should we not look for them we have already found 3. Walsh has got us some bargains and fair play to him. If he finds more awesome. But if we end up paying more so be it. So I agree but say keep are eyes open any way

Vardy signed for us as a 'gamble' on the back of great form in the lower leagues. We signed 'potential'. In Inler, we signed a proven International with umpteen Swiss caps in his cabinet, from Napoli! We signed him on the back of supposed 'class'. I for one, was pleased. In terms of his play making ability, I thought we'd replaced Cambiasso with more quality. But I WAS concerned again about 'legs'. Vardy gets time...We signed potential. Inler gets little time (for me)...We signed 'quality'. The two are just very different situations. Are you always this obtuse?

SheppyFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He's alright but we should be targeting the likes of Pogba if we're gonna be serious imoI like this. Haha
ARM1968 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Here we are again moaning about someone like De Jong signing for us. We're not in the CL yet. Ranieri sees Inler isn't good enough. No messing. He's gone. If De Jong comes he'll add steel and experience. Both needed.
Kitchandro Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He'd be good for us as a squad player for a couple of seasons. Kante and Drinks can't do it alone all season. So let's buy a player who can actually compete with them. No point signing players who are much worse than we already have. We don't need another Dean Hammond.

Nick Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 So let's buy a player who can actually compete with them. No point signing players who are much worse than we already have. We don't need another Dean Hammond. I wasn't aware that De Jong was Dean Hammond. I'm also unaware of Messi's availability unless your going to pay for him with your idealism Kitchandro. I am however aware that I'm not going to get all I want for this season in the January transfer window and recognise that we may have to build more slowly than we would like rather than source and pay for two more Kante's unless of course you know of any? We need more depth in that position as Inler doesn't suit our style and Matty James isn't back to fitness. De Jong's not my dream player but may be able to do a job and yeah why not challenge for a starting place?
Heymister2015 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 De Jong could be a bit of a huth Signing! Experienced
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Looks like he is on his way, lots of talk coming from Italian media that someone at Milan has all but confirmed it. In my opinion it's a brilliant signing......mostly for his experience, we turned our noses up at Cambiasso and the rest was history.....if he comes, give him a chance and get behind him.
sdb Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Would be a great signing if true. For those tricky 451 away days we have coming up!
Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Would be a great signing if true. For those tricky 451 away days we have coming up! More of a battler than Inler and he'd be in his element sitting in front of the defence kicking anything that moved. I hope he's still got it.
