More fool the club who doesn't take him on. If I was a Reading or QPR fan I know who I'd want in charge of my club and it certainly wouldn't be Brian McDermott or Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

I don't think many Prem clubs would take him, he will be back with probably with a league 1 or championship club

What a ridiculous post.

Why are you trying to justify your ridiculous hatred of Pearson... You'll not find many, if not any, PL club that would want any manager with just one year experience in the Premier League.

Pearson deserves much credit for getting us out of league one, and of course for getting us into the premier league.

He and his staff helped to put the foundations in place, but give credit to the owners too, because without their financial backing, we would not have been able to afford to lay the foundations in the first place.

On a personal note, the championship winning season under Pearson, was also one of the most enjoyable seasons i`ve had the pleasure of watching in the 40 odd years of going down the City.

Sadly though, he abandoned the championship winning swashbuckling, go out to win every game approach for three quarters of last season, in favour of a "stay in the game" approach.

It was only when we got to the do or die stage that he changed that approach, and from what he said on the Sky sports interview a couple of months back, had he still been here, he would have gone back to the stay in the game approach.

So all in all, i wish him good luck, thank him for the memories, but i am glad that we have Ranieri now, who i think is, and will, take us to a level, that i don`t believe Pearson would have taken us too.

I've stood by it ever since we lost him the first time that he's a superb foundation layer, and for all the flaws in his management (which there are some) he's got that about him that sets him apart from others. He's a clever bloke who I'll always wish the best for in management.

This sums it up perfectly.

What he did for this club was superb. Whatever you think of NP, what he did for this club, at it's lowest point, should never be forgotten. I hope any NP haters will acknowledge what he did for us. I, for one, was saddened when he went, and I wish he was still around now, as I'm sure we would also be flying this season. My only critical point with NP was how long it took him to sort out the tactical aspects of the P/L. I credit Ranieri hugely not only for not changing much, but also for how quickly he found his feet in the P/L after such a long absence. Ranieri's test is really still to come, when results go wrong, (look how the knives came out yesterday on here when we are second in the P/L!!) and when players leave or retire and he has to replace them. Of course, I wish him nothing but the best.

If they don't now then there's no point arguing with them as they never will.

Anyone who has come in this thread to criticise Nigel Pearson is a short-term reactionary fan, the ones Pearson spoke about in the interview that only judge managers with their immediate results. Sort of morons that feel successful on a Saturday when they win £100 down the bookies despite being on the dole (and spend it all that evening down the pub and clubs.)  Not worth bothering with and not true Leicester fans

on the charm offensive, bet he gutted no one will touch him with a barge pole

Of course they will you imbecile.

Nige has done more for this club than anyone in recent years. Our style of play and team spirit isn't an accident. It was Nige's vision and how he wanted to play. He turned us into winners! Overall in our time under Nige, we won! Winning League One and the Championship and we always finished in a higher position than the year before, while under financial restraint for the most part. I personally think we would be doing just as well this season if Nige was still the manager and if the end of last season was anything to go by, maybe even better.

Helped build a lot of the foundations (squad/behind the scenes), well liked by other people in football and was extremely popular with the Leicester players.

Made a number of mistakes (on/off field) but it was his first season at that level and it's a steep learning curve in full media glare. How many years did it take Fergie to get to grips with the top flight?

Should be applauded for many fine things he did for LCFC. Far from a faultless individual of course but history will remember his impressive stats.

lol Pearson is easily one of the best available managers out there at the minute. If I was a Swansea fan I know who I'd want as manager.

Rate him as a club legend but this season's success (or lack of) will be placed at the feet of CR for me. You don't just walk into a club and 'keep things the same'. I find it disrespectful that so many people keep saying that's all Ranieri has done. On the field we are a totally different side in so many ways. Pearson isn't involved in tactics/formations/training/team talks anymore. That may sound obvious but I swear some people think he is!! (i'm talking pundits more than folk on here by the way)...

Yes but it's not often a new manager walks into a team that just won 7 of their last 8? games the previous season, has a world-class fitness/physio set up and has a scouting network that can pick out players like Mahrez, Vardy, Drinkwater, Kante, Fuchs, Cambiasso etc...

That is what people are talking about. Pearson helped to build all of that through people he brought in and his "getting the extra %" attitude and approach.

No one is disrespecting Claudio by saying he hasn't changed much. He's made small changes to a fantastic foundation, which has yielded brilliant results!

There's no doubt we approach games differently under CR and our defending has vastly improved. Vardy and Mahrez have also flourished. I personally believe he's taken us to a level Pearson couldn't but there's no doubting a lot of the work had already been done Pearson who will go down as a very important part of our history.

NP deserves enormous credit for taking the team from its lowest ebb, first season in 3rd tier, back into the top division. Under his stewardship there was a backroom revolution which built the solid foundations, sports science, scouting etc.,which we are now benefitting from.He also built the basis of the good team we now have.Whether he could have achieved the success that CR has enjoyed is academic.

For me,he will be remembered, along with Brian Little,as a manager who brought us back from the abyss.

Every time Pearson gets spoken about positively we can rely on you to get upset about it. It baffles me how anyone could hold such bitter contempt for an ex-manager who achieved what Pearson did

That basically what i'm saying yeah, but...

Didn't Moyes have all that?

It's so easy to ruin a good thing. Especially when a team are so devoted to the man you're replacing.

As I said, NP belongs in LCFC folklore but this season just isn;t about him. We wouldn't be 2nd right now were he still here.

NP is A good championship manager, however CR has shown how technically inept NP was at EPL level

He kept us up with a game to spare. Some ineptitude.

Ah but I'd argue Moyes was a very different situation.

Ultimately it's very different coming into a club where you're expected to win trophies (and arguably where the greatest manager ever had made a good squad a great squad).
