Guest Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 At last a news report on this: http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/spanish-acknowledgement-leicester-are-favourites-to-sign-ace Hope it happens soon. Sounds a good player for us.
Stevosevic Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo say the Premier League club are ahead of others in the race to sign Carrillo and, as it stands, it's either Leicester or Porto, with the latter option an absolute nightmare scenario for Sporting
Ric Flair Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Be delighted to get him but can't see us signing him and another striker and right now I think we need a proper striker to help Vardy.
LCCFox96 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I think if Kramaric does go out on loan then we will see Carillo and another striker arriving. This guy looks the real deal and our apparent extensive scouting of him and previous bidding history makes me think this one is just a matter of time. That would mean we would likely re-jig our options to: Fuchs (LB) Schlupp (LB) Mahrez (W) Albrighton (W) Gray (W) Carillo (W) Dyer (W) - Although if we sign two more attacking options can see his loan being terminated.
Gerard Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I think we should be favorites to sign him for one main reason. We were the only club to make an offer for him in the summer of about €13m IIRC. He knows Leicester City want him, we're not just going to take him because he's a quality player on a Bosman like a lot of clubs might. Porto could well take him and then offload him in a year and make a healthy profit on him. He will know he's truly wanted at Leicester City and hopefully that counts for a lot with him. We'd probably get him for €3m in January as we will want him and Sporting Lisbon will be desperate to get rid of him. It's a bluffers game in January as in just over three weeks he's worth nothing to Sporting and they have the burden of his wages for the next five months for a player they won't play.
dbtcity Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I'd personally take him over another striker, read somewhere that he's a winger who basically came into his own in the number 10 role, so would be perfect in behind vardy, ulloa and Okazaki are decent enough back up for vardy so a number 10/attacking midfielder in the hole surely should be the priority
Thracian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 it's January now. So what's taking the time? Paper/pen shouldn't be so hard to find. We need our reinforcements now, not in the 22nd century.
Finnegan Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 it's January now. So what's taking the time? Paper/pen shouldn't be so hard to find. We need our reinforcements now, not in the 22nd century. It there's truth in this it'll be quite drawn out. He's out of contract in the summer I think so there'll be a lot of wrangling over prices and other clubs trying to get him to join in the summer.
LCCFox96 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Had we been mid-table I'd have agreed that a #10 player would be a sole priority over the striker. But now that we are in a position to potentially add a player of Carillo's quality in that area and also add a striker on the level of some of the mooted names, Aboubakar, Milik, Doumbia, Embolo etc., I don't see why would waste that opportunity. If we can add a CAM/Wide player like Carillo and another top class striker with a loan/sale of Kramaric that would be fantastic business in my opinion.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 If we can get him for less than we offered in the summer, that's a fantastic deal for us.
HighPeakFox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 If we sign someone on (say) the 18th January, does that now belong in the 22nd century?
Clever Fox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Promising article and he looks a good player. He's tall and quick which is a bonus as it fits our style. My only fear is that he's very one footed.

Clever Fox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 So were Messi & Maradona, I can live with that. Agreed , but they also had quick brains as well as quick feet. With Carillo's pace and skill he would take a lot of pressure off Mahrez as it would be difficult to double up on both of them. Which is what teams are doing to Mahrez now.

I agree with this 100% if it's going to improve our team then why not? Has anyone got a video or knows a fair bit about this fella that they could tell me about as I don't really know much about him.
weller54 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Bournemouth in for him too.. And have offered 11m??
Tommy G Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Bournemouth in for him too.. And have offered 11m?? Where??
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 it's January now. So what's taking the time? Paper/pen shouldn't be so hard to find. We need our reinforcements now, not in the 22nd century. And here's me thinking people get more patient as they grow older.
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Bournemouth are complete mugs if they have gone straight in at 11m when he's out of contract in the summer. Not being funny but he is never going to choose them over us if we match.
MC Prussian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Where?? http://depor.pe/futbol-internacional/andre-carrillo-bournemouth-prepara-tremenda-oferta-contratarlo-1062352
Gerard Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Bournemouth in for him too.. And have offered 11m?? I read that too the other day. It has to be bullshit, 100%.
LCFC hub Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Just what we need IMO. As someone stated would take the pressure of Mahrez and stop teams being able to double up all the time. Hope this happens!
