RedSoxUK Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Can't claim to be an expert on Carrillo, but i've spoken to a few Portugese Sporting Lisbon fans about Carrillo back in the summer window. He's very highly rated there, the fans and Sporting Lisbon as a club would be utterly devastated if he ended up at Porto. It's expected of him to go on and do wonders, they (Lisbon fans) reckoned he could be off to La Liga at a pretty decent side there, even after our run and in our current position. They still think Carrillo could do better, which kind of tells me how important he's been for Lisbon. The fact we bidded and wanted him before may be enough to land him this time, but I definitely think Lisbon will want to sell while they can. I would be very excited if we managed to pull off Carrillo. Without a doubt, he has been very well scouted, I think we'll pull it off if Lisbon give the green light,
Gerard Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Sporting's Director is notoriously hard work. He'd happy not to sell him if he's annoyed with Carrillo. I'm not kidding that's his style Well it will cost him a few million Euros if he wants to play silly buggers. A sobering thought for Sporting. Carillo either moves for a nominal fee in the next three weeks or moves for nothing in July. It's almost certain that Carillo will move in January if he comes to Leicester as we will want him for this season and Sporting won't want to keep paying his wages and not get a fee. If that's the case a deal will be struck even if it's 5 mins before deadline. The only way he doesn't go for a fee is if a club like Porto want him but are happy to wait until the summer and get him on a Bosman.
bigbiff Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 1st time iv done any research on this guy and my verdict GET HIM IN LIKE YESTERDAY Best highlight reel i have seen on youtube for a player we have been linked with.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Could potentially be a quality signing if we can secure this deal. I feel he could certainly improve an already talented squad.
Stevosevic Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Judging by this, Valencia and Sevilla in for him? https://twitter.com/Mau_A_Moon/status/685515177182277632
Spudulike Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Sporting's Director is notoriously hard work. He'd happy not to sell him if he's annoyed with Carrillo. I'm not kidding that's his style This is what he said during the last transfer window .... "The only proposal that I received was that of Leicester," he said. "Agents and people in the background can stop proposals. Is Carillo good or not? If it's good only appears the proposal of Leicester, this colossus of world football? "I can confirm the proposed 12 million euros. Only after the clubs agree among themselves can the buyer club talk to the player. "The agent did not speak to the player. When I was young I also believed in Santa Claus, but then I stopped believing." http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Sporting-Lisbon-president-confirms-Leicester-City/story-27931930-detail/story.html
4everfox Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Fully grown manager. Good players as team mates as opposed to league one rejects like Harry Arter and Simon Francis.
VLC86 Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Good players as team mates as opposed to league one rejects like Harry Arter and Simon Francis. This sort of comment is what we hate from other forums. League 1 rejects that got a 0-0 against us with 10 men. Have a bit of humility.
Thracian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Especially those who prefer to play on the right wing, which is all of our wingers except Schlupp (and Gray?). Didn't realize this guy was from Peru, I bet it would be good for Ulloa to have another Spanish speaker in the side. We've only got one genuine winger as I can see.
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 We've only got one genuine winger as I can see. What are Albrighton and Gray? Mahrez plays much better on the wing as does Dyer. Schlupp is also most effective there.
bigbiff Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 We've only got one genuine winger as I can see. What are you on about? Explain yourself
MPH Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 We've only got one genuine winger as I can see. Then get your eyes checked.
FoxinNotts Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 We've only got one genuine winger as I can see. Mahrez, Dyer, Albrighton, Gray, (Dodoo & Schlupp) ?
murphy Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 ...I'll try again . I would be very excited if we managed to pull off Carrillo. Snigger...
WiFoxes Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 I've been eagerly anticipating the return of a Carrillo thread. Hope we can get him in this window.
Thracian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Mahrez, Dyer, Albrighton, Gray, (Dodoo & Schlupp) ? I hadn't counted Gray because I'd not seen him play other than on video and Dodoo won't be consequential to this season. Of the players on view so far I'd only call Mahrez a real winger (maintains the width if he wishes, takes people on, accurate crosses and a goals threat). Albrighton's more a wide player who delivers crosses but doesn't really have the pace to take people on and isn't a significant goals threat. Dyer's slipped way off my radar as a Premiership winger and Schlupp's not got the crossing accuracy to be considered a genuine winger in my estimation. Nor is he really a reliable marksman. I accept we all see these things differently but that's my take. I'd only add that I was delighted with signed Gray who may well turn out to fit the criteria.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Is he really tall, sports a ridiculous pony tail and speaks with a Geordie accent?
The Doctor Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Albrighton not a winger? Thraician is really losing it. Hope we land him just to piss off bournemouth and their two-bit fans.
sdb Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Albrighton not a winger? Thraician is really losing it. Hope we land him just to piss off bournemouth and their two-bit fans. And Dyer had a poor 45 last week so also can't count.

He is about as out and out winger as you could get. It kills me watching him play on the left as he is so bang average there. On the right he is far more direct and causes all kinds of problems. Unfortunately for him, Riyad is too good. Not really seen Carrillo play much but he is a player that excites me. Definitely worth going for.
Thracian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Albrighton not a winger? Thraician is really losing it. Hope we land him just to piss off bournemouth and their two-bit fans. Capabilities in abundance but not my idea of a winger. Cruyff, Tom Finney, George Best, Derek Hogg, Lennie Glover and Cliff Jones were more what I'm thinking of. Styles change of course but, for me, you need four things from wingers. Pace, penetration, accurate crossing and the ability to score goals. Nowadays there's compromise. Wingers have to defend til they drop. Trouble is it takes a toll on the other things.

Thracian Posted 8 January 2016 Posted 8 January 2016 Albrighton not a winger? Thraician is really losing it. Hope we land him just to piss off bournemouth and their two-bit fans. Capabilities in abundance but not a complete winger to me. Cruyff, Best, Finney, Callaghan, Cliff Jones, Derek Hogg, Cliff Jones are more what I have in mind. People with pace, penetration, crossing accuracy and the ability to score goals consistently. Styles change, of course. Nowadays there's such an emphasis on defending til they drop they lose impact in the other departments.
