Guest MattP Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 Have to feel sorry for Woakes, hard enough to get wickets at this level without the wicket keeper dropping balls coming into his gut.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 Bairstow was probably thinking about how nice his name will look on the board.
StanSP Posted 10 June 2016 Posted 10 June 2016 Very similar reviews gone against each side now in each innings. Such a fine margin with the 50% call re: umpire's call and where the ball is going to hit the wicket. Apparently a proposal going in to the ICC to reduce it from 50% to 25%. Think 50% is too high given that the last 2 instances with Bairstow and now Karunaratne showed the ball was obviously going to hit the wicket.
StanSP Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 England have 3 wickets already this morning. Sri Lanka haven't looked ready for today at all.
theessexfox Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Last time we'll see Compton bat for England I reckon.
StanSP Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 Anyone see Cook earlier ? Put himself at silly point for some bizarre reason then had to go to hospital cos he got smashed on the knee
Corky Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 Utterly brilliant finish. That third run on the penultimate ball felt huge but still, to hit a massive six on the last one takes some doing. Akin to being 2-0 down with 2 minutes to go and drawing, Woakes was magnificent too.
Osavo Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 What an amazing finish that was, the place erupted after Plunkett's six. A tie felt fair in the end though, thought both sides played some very good cricket.
GaelicFox Posted 21 June 2016 Posted 21 June 2016 Crazy ending And given that the previous wicket was a NO ball Much deserved
AKCJ Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 After a thoroughly depressing day, that was brill. Well done Roy and Hales.
Swarles Barkley Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 What a great partnership between hales and roy. So glad I was there
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 June 2016 Posted 28 June 2016 Is anyone interested in a pair of tickets for the first day of the Pakistan test at Lord's? 14th July. Face value obviously - £180 for the pair.
Corky Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 England brilliant in Tests and ODI's. We should relish these times.
Osavo Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Jason Roy really is a superb batsman. Love watching us in all forms at the minute, brilliant stuff.
Swarles Barkley Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 How about that then! Nice that the ECB are learning from the last 2 dismal world cups and changing our mindset towards one day cricket. This total would have been a real struggle a few years ago but did it with ease today. Of course there is still room for improvement but at least we are heading in the right direction. (If only the FA learn a thing or 2 from cricket!)
Corky Posted 2 July 2016 Posted 2 July 2016 3-0 series win for England. We are very efficient but Sri Lanka look worryingly poor, more so in a format more suited to their players. Without the likes of Murali, Sangakkara and Jayawardene, even Herath, they look very average. I know they are world-class players and we could have a similar problem in a few years but Sri Lanka looks like a team with plenty of rebuilding to do.
