Have to feel sorry for Woakes, hard enough to get wickets at this level without the wicket keeper dropping balls coming into his gut.

Very similar reviews gone against each side now in each innings. Such a fine margin with the 50% call re: umpire's call and where the ball is going to hit the wicket.

Apparently a proposal going in to the ICC to reduce it from 50% to 25%. Think 50% is too high given that the last 2 instances with Bairstow and now Karunaratne showed the ball was obviously going to hit the wicket.

Absolute scenes at the end

Utterly brilliant finish. That third run on the penultimate ball felt huge but still, to hit a massive six on the last one takes some doing.

Akin to being 2-0 down with 2 minutes to go and drawing, Woakes was magnificent too.

What an amazing finish that was, the place erupted after Plunkett's six. A tie felt fair in the end though, thought both sides played some very good cricket.

How about that then! Nice that the ECB are learning from the last 2 dismal world cups and changing our mindset towards one day cricket. This total would have been a real struggle a few years ago but did it with ease today. Of course there is still room for improvement but at least we are heading in the right direction. (If only the FA learn a thing or 2 from cricket!)

3-0 series win for England. We are very efficient but Sri Lanka look worryingly poor, more so in a format more suited to their players. Without the likes of Murali, Sangakkara and Jayawardene, even Herath, they look very average. I know they are world-class players and we could have a similar problem in a few years but Sri Lanka looks like a team with plenty of rebuilding to do.
