Ritchie de Laet to Boro

Love how people think Amartey is going to be back up for Simpson. We clearly didn't buy him to sit on the bench, and especially not for RB.

Who said he's going to sit on the bench? I don't think anyone thinks that Amartey is only going to play if Simpson's injured - just that he can play RB, meaning we can lose De Laet if necessary. Amartey could be 1st choice CM or CB (or maybe even RM), but still be moved to RB if Simpson's not available.

Don't think we should be letting any player go who has first team time on the field this season unless we've got in a better replacement.

Amartey means 1 defender can go.

Sounds like we're after an emergency loan deal in the right-back department.

I suppose Boro would still have to agree on the deal after a successful medical. No matter where our players end up on loan, I do hope they're successful.

Also, I think Middlesbrough would deserve coming back up to the Premier League - Karanka is building something longer-lasting.

Apparently he's just arrived at the Boro training ground ahead of a loan deal, he wasn't originally keen on a loan but has since changed his mind.
