There are two lions on the trophy above the handles, the third lion is represented by the captain when he holds it aloft after winning the league. A guess but the three lions probably comes from the England badge.

I think the main logo is nice, and I really like the overall versatility of the designs. However, those sleeve patches are just awful.

And there's nothing majestic or "premier" about the choice of font or its placement. Wonder how much this re-branding cost and who's going to get all that money in his pocket.
