The Blur Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 There is some debate going on Facebook against MOTD asking what fans think when they posted a picture of logo. Some fans are arguing that it is irrelevant as the logo is mostly for corporate sponsors and MOTD should stick with asking fans about real football issues such as ticket pricing. All very daft
Jace Posted 9 February 2016 Author Posted 9 February 2016 I've heard a rumour that they appointed the bloke who designed the 1966 World Cup branding, unfortunately he's had difficulty learning how to use Photoshop in his old age
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Looks a bit odd but that's just because it's different. Will grow on me. still kept a lion off the England shirt which is right as the English PL so could be a lot worse
Jaspa Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Im all for change but that logo makes me think of Premier Inn and the Scottish Championship, not a fan of the font at all. Its a contract that has run down with Barclays isnt it? Surely wont be long until another high profile business puts an offer in that cant be refused, could be worse than that so carefull what you wish for, it might grow on people.
Buzzell Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Would look alot better in either Gold or Navy colour. Purple looks shit.
UPinCarolina Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 It really does look like the logo for a doctor's office here in the States, or some sort of marketing agency.
Phube Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 The best thing about that horrible sleeve badge? We are guaranteed to be putting on our shirts next season!
Samilktray Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 People were never gonna be happy with it on here were they, let's be honest
Fox42 Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Said it in the premier league thread and I'll say it again here. Coming from a graphic design student, the logo and patch looks terrible and tacky. I like what they've done with the lion's head, that's a nice touch. But once again, we're seeing another example of lazy design. The typeface, to me, does not scream football. It looks like a bank logo. A modern, sleek serif typeface would've worked much better than a bubblegum pop style rounded font. The outer shield shape caps off a cheap looking design. I hate the idea of completely stripping off elements of a currently successful design just for the sake of it. It's a failure. Does this also mean they'll change the shirt number font? Also, not liking the European electric style colour scheme so much.

stripeyfox Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 If I sat a class of 10 year old kids down and asked them to come up with a logo, I reckon this is what they'd come up with.
Fox42 Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 Looks like a banks logo tbqfh I'm gonna marry you When and where? Personally, I'm looking at this summer.
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 That font is shocking. Dread to think how much they paid for it as it literally looks as if it's been knocked up in about 10 minutes.
Jordan Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 I was just thinking... Why not have the sleeve patch be a rectangular patch with the main Premier League logo, instead of that clumsy circle with all that empty space?
Phube Posted 9 February 2016 Posted 9 February 2016 They could at least put the league year in the blank space; i.e. 2016/17 season...
Swiper Posted 10 February 2016 Posted 10 February 2016 The amount of blank space in the patch is overwhelming.
WesMorganGod Posted 10 February 2016 Posted 10 February 2016 They need to change the Lion to a different animal now. Polar Bears are my favorite animal so wish it was that. would be happy with a Fox too
AjcW Posted 10 February 2016 Posted 10 February 2016 Might be missing something here but I'm pretty sure that patch photo everyone is going on about was posted by someone on here? I replied to it in the Premier League thread and the poster said "I imagine it'll look something like this?" Just wondering if it's actually official in any way as it looks like a fans mock up
Jimbo Posted 10 February 2016 Posted 10 February 2016 It does look like some 14 year old kid has knocked that up on the emblem designer on call of duty!

Agreed, you look at the old logo and realise a couple of clear things... # The new logo has no reference to football at all # The previous logo had the words PREMIER LEAGUE in capitals - no doubt to establish it as THE Premier division of all divisions. # It was centred - meaning it was easy to add a sponsor to it Someone's been paid a,lot of money to pay up with that crap. Shocking!
