ScouseFox Posted 24 February 2016 Posted 24 February 2016 A bit pessimistic from the guy that has been saying we're going to win the league since Sunderland on the first day yeah winning this league is one thing, that's easy, everyone in this league is shit. competing with actual good teams is probably beyond us. like i said when we get pot 1 i think we'll come second in our group. someone like real, dortmund, napoli etc will be our pot 2 team and they'd win the group. someone like psv, monaco, galatasaray etc would be pot 3 and it'd be us vs them for 2nd place. we'd all piss on astana or some team from somewhere shit.

I didn't think you actually had a ceiling of outrageous positivity to be honest. Glad to see you're not totally unhinged haha. Leicester v Galatasary would be a great game. I think it depends how much we tempt fate. If we do it too much then fate will probably decide that we're only going to pick up 3 or 4 points from the last 12. Aside from a massive injury or suspension crisis, I'd be absolutely gutted if we finish below 4th place.

If 11 top class players (which we have or we wouldn't be top of the league) play as a team they will give anyone a good game. If you think we are going to go out and spend 50 / 60 mill in the summer you are in for a disappointing summer. Actually I can easily see us spending that much. Think about it, with the new TV deal coming into place, transfer fees are bound to be inflated. We spent about £25 million last summer and we're likely to go after a 'higher calibre' of player this summer if we do qualify for the champions league.
Koke Posted 24 February 2016 Posted 24 February 2016 If we win the league and recruit smartly I don't see why we cant do something against PSV, Leverkusen Villarreal etc. If we finish 2nd or 3rd and get Barcelona, Bayern Munich or PSG they will steamroll us, but then again they also steamroll Arsenal and Man City and Chelsea so we will just be another English team to them.
