TeamRocket Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 Could just get Sky sports for twenty quid a month? Am on bt but other than football i dont really watch sky sports so the pay as you watch or now tv thing works better for me
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 April 2016 Posted 25 April 2016 But you'd pay more for four pay as you watch things as you can for a whole month of sky sports and entrainment package
sdb Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Folks, could do with some help. Going to call sky later and either cancel or accept their generous offer of a substantial price reduction. I'm currently paying £105 a month for it. That's without films and without BT sport. It's £35 more than what I was paying 2 years ago. I'd really appreciate knowing roughly what others are paying as a reference. That can include other services. Basically all I want is footy. Thanks in advance...!!!

Should have no trouble getting it half price for 12 months, and don't think you have to accept a deal today as they may call back even after cancelling to offer you something.
sdb Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Thanks you 3. Really helpful. I have HD and box set thingy but not movies or multi room. Extortionate.
Nick Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 I'm just about to phone them for a renegotiation too. I'm now paying £80 for all the channels and on demand services excluding BT sport and my phone line and broadband.

True Blue Fox Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Hi Everyone I have been reading the comments about SKY and like everyone its £100 plus per month for all the packages. I cancelled my SKY subscription and have bought a FTA box which is Free To Air. This box will do everything the sky box does plus many many EXTRAS. My plan is to be able to watch all our teams game at home or on the move if I can't go to the game itself. The box itself is around £65 and you need something called a line to be able to watch all the sky channels which cost me £100 for a year I also bought a 1TB HDD so I can record pause etc. I've just paid a total of £205 for the next 12months of viewing. I'm not spamming or anything like that just want to share this with you all.

True Blue Fox Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Its took me a month to google and setup but a line is a piece of code you upload to your box to descramble the sky signal there loads on Youtube about it my box is called a Zgemma have a google mate

I was paying around £65 for films, sky sports, all channels, phone, broadband, multi room and it all was in HD. The offer ended last month and it went upto £111. I rang and cancelled 2 weeks ago, Thursday afternoon they rang me and said they will give me exactly the same deal for £62 if I sign up for another 12 months. The way sky are now losing things the customer can get the best deals. I said I was paying more for the TV now than the other year but I've ended up losing the champions league.

True Blue Fox Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Sounds legit. From what I have found out is the boxes are legal there on ebay amazon etc the subscription to get the line is legal but theres where the confusion starts it may be legal to receive the line to your box but it is legal to descramble channels?? So I guess to a degree its legit but I've only recently bought and set the box up but my accountant has had one for years told me about it a few months ago.
Captain... Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 I pay £38.75 a month for Sky, Family pack/box sets, Sky Sports, and HD (no landline or Broadband, no BT) I started off with a 50% off friends and family deal, and threaten to cancel every time it comes for renewal.
treer Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 by far the most popular freeview box is a technomate5402, they cost under £100. it is possible to watch EVERY match broadcast in europe.
martyn Posted 3 July 2016 Posted 3 July 2016 Sky will give you 50% off as a matter of course if you actually go ahead and action a cancellation. If you are a real penny pincher, wait a couple of weeks after your services get cut off and they have been known to offer 60% off plus an account credit of £50-100. That's the deal I've had last couple of years. You need to be prepared to stick to your guns and cancel though, and not accept the 25% off they'll offer as standard on first threatening to leave.
