inckley fox Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 very fkn definition of glory hunting Hmm, it doesn't reflect well on Riyad, that. It was a great chance to put something into a very dangerous area. Having seen Ranieri's comments about him having to remember to play for Leicester and not Barcelona, not yet, I can't help but feel he might be on the receiving end of a sharp word or two after that. He had a decent game, even if there were a few unsightly errors in there, but I think he's overdue a 90 minute-long world-beating outing. Or two.
Harry - LCFC Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Watford is no more or less important now than it was before the West Brom game. And Riyad's flick to King wasn't exactly textbook. The safe thing to do would have been to control the ball and then play a safe pass to King. I don't see anyone complaining about that. Cushioning the ball so it rolled forward at a slow pace wasn't that much harder than stopping it dead. It's true you don't see that sort of thing often but it requires nothing like the level of skill or timing as his attempt at scoring later. Right decision made with the lay off because King would likely have been closed down if he hadn't played it first time. Wrong decision made with the volley: Awful angle, perfect technique required, two men in the box were better placed.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Okazaki's first and general touch, as well as his close control was excellent tonight, again. Nearly scored with the header. Have to say Foster made some superb stops in his goal, his handling was good and the save v Wes was a great reaction.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Agree, Simpson was magnificent tonight, as was Morgan. They both did a lot of key stuff for us, and contiune to be solid in the back four.
teblin Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Thought we we class tonight. Played like a top team. Class apart from West Bromwich. Just didn't take those chances.
jon1bc Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Mahrez mostly glory hunting for me, believing the stuff written about him his heads in the clouds looking at money Such a delusional comment. He made such a difference tonight and was creating attacking opportunites out of nothing, at times when any other player in the team would play it sideways/backwards he drove forward with purpose and WBA were under pressure. He also made an assist. I hope he does believe the stuff written about him otherwise a lack of confidence would show through
MattCan Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Yep. Cut out the flicks Riyad. Lay the ball off instead of trying to beat a man. Play percentage football. Never try the spectacular. Take away everything from your game that makes you the player you are. The only reason I have watched and enjoyed football moments this season is this skinny footballer from nowhere with his unpredictable madness on the pitch.
Larry_LCFC Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Just watching the game back on Sky and I cant believe just how wasteful Shinji was. He has got to be more clinical to be deserving of starting. The amount that went over/onto the bar. He had to score one of them atleast.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 People might appreciate Riyad more if he is out for a few weeks. Some times you only see what you truly have, when it isn't there. I appreciate this is the thinnest of sources, so I'm praying it isn't true. http://www.albawaba.com/sport/mahrez-could-be-out-3-4-weeks-811988

BoyJones Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Mahrez's overhead effort is only considered a poor choice, because the execution was rubbish. If it hits the back of the net, we would all be going orgasmic. He could have headed it across when we had two men on the far post; sods law when he did take that option two minutes later, we had no one there for a far post tap in. He had the confidence to take the overhead on, happy to see our players trying to be creative, that's why we are top. To be fair, I was momentary annoyed with him at the time, but we wouldn't be where we are without his efforts this season. People slating him will be sorry when he's gone.
treer Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 so proud , what a match and fair play to wba. 8 from 10 we would have won, just one of those things Anywhere near this level of performance sat and we get 3 points WE ARE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
southfox66 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Tonight was 2 points dropped and two soft goals to give away, we cant afford to drop many more points, the way spurs are playing at the moment.
UPinCarolina Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 FWIW, I feel much better about this than I did about our second Bournemouth draw, or that dreadful 1-1 with Villa. At least we didn't take our foot off of the gas pedal down the stretch!
coolcol Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Okazaki's first and general touch, as well as his close control was excellent tonight, again. Nearly scored with the header. Have to say Foster made some superb stops in his goal, his handling was good and the save v Wes was a great reaction. I have to say, having been to the match and saw Okazaki first hand I thought he had an awful match. Consistently pulling out of challenges, harrying but not in the effective 'Vardy' style of harrying. When Leo came there was much more end product, albeit he is a differ type of player. It took Vards 3 seasons to really bed in so I think this is Shinzi's bedding in season.

You are wrong , the ball was behind him, he couldn't head across goal. He improvised, unfortunately to no avail
Vardinio'sCat Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 The Twitter account reporting that is called "Mali Parody" Thank the lord, you have just raised me from the pits of despair!
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Was he not fcking flagged offside anyway, if so most stupid discussion ever
Master Fox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Vardy in the last 3 games has been the most disappointing aspect of our blip in form. He was atrocious tonight. Hardly touched the ball.

Fair point, it has already been pointed out it is a dubious source. Wish I'd thought before I posted it...
Sionnach gorm Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 The positive out of this whole game is that Leicester looks like a great team. Very happy about that. The rest, well, just bad luck.
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Vardy in the last 3 games has been the most disappointing aspect of our blip in form. He was atrocious tonight. Hardly touched the ball. I don't agree with that. Should've done better with his two chances but his pressing and interplay with others on the wing helped keep our attacks going several times. I think it's just the goal threat that he's missing atm ( which is admittedly quite important).
Vardinio'sCat Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 So much better performance than Norwich, sods law that we didn't get the win we deserved. Still not convinced by Grey, although some decent crosses from the left were encouraging. Come on you Hammers!
