chicagofox Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I'm really sorry but Schmeichel is not as good as people make him out to be. There was a poll on SSN the other week about who was better out of Lloris, Kasper, Cech and Hart and he came second I think! Schmeichel is so far behind those three its a joke. He's got no confidence from crosses, offers no support to his defence and his kicking is hilariously poor - he comes out with one incredible kick in 5 - but the other 4 are terrible He came second in a poll he wasn't even in? Schmeichel was completely blameless this evening and has been as responsible for our excellent upturn in defensive form and resolve as any of Simpson, Morgan, Huth, and Fuchs.
Hammered Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Maybe Spurs going top will help us. You're having a laugh?
shen Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 The thing is the Baggies still have to go to Arsenal, Soursxand Man City; therefore probably putting a spanner in the works there too Not if they play like they did today. They just can't be as clinical as they were today. One clear chance, one half chance throughout the game will not result in two goals more than once or twice a season. They've now done it two away games in a row. No. Let's not have any of that rubbish. Vardy and Shinji were both sharp and linked well. Sometimes you just have to accept you played well and were unlucky. I get your sentiment, but Vardy, Okazaki and Ulloa all missed great great chances. You don't expect Vardy to miss a one on one from that distance under little pressure and first half, just head it anywhere but the middle of the goal and it's in. Great improvisation from Okazaki straight after their first goal, but hit the target man! His woeful shot from the edge of the box and his header from the best cross of the game proves again that he's not a good finisher, unfortunately. Ulloa really should get on the end of some of those balls that were flying in during the final 20 minutes. I'll get shot for this But Vardy not the same player in last 8 games He isn't firing , working hard , maybe too hard ? I thought he was fine against Arsenal (won the peno and scored it), fine against Man City, sensational against Liverpool where he 'singlehandedly' won the game for us and standard good against Stoke. No idea what you're on about. Even when he was up against three central defenders and starved of space against Norwich, he still makes a crucial and telling contribution for the goal. Today's the only game where I think you could actually expect more.
Dr The Singh Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I really didn't see what Gray offered, he put some average crosses in, I would have preferred Albrighton to stay on
daddylonglegs Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 He came second in a poll he wasn't even in? Schmeichel was completely blameless this evening and has been as responsible for our excellent upturn in defensive form and resolve as any of Simpson, Morgan, Huth, and Fuchs. Pardon? I said he came second in a poll with the other three? I'm confused haha. I didn't say he wasn't blameless but his kicking and controlling of his box tonight was really poor.
Birmingham fox Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Gutted. How that finished 2-2 I will never know. Mixed emotions but really pleased how we never panicked and kept playing football when chasing a winner, good signs Poor goals to concede and can't afford to miss free headers in front of goal. Performance was great though. Will be ups and downs for everybody until season ends. Another point on the board
steveherbe Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Thought the lads were brilliant though, so much better than saturday. Drinks and Kingy imperious, Schlupp brilliant, Mahrez brilliant/frustrating, typical genius player. But what the hell was that ridiculous overhead kick about? Just head it in you Algerian....Algerian. Really feel for Shinji - is he crap or just unlucky? That header against the bar..... Still think Kasper is a weak link though. He could have so easily come out for their first goal. But he came out, backed off, came out again and still nearly got there. 2nd half he didnt come for one, Drinky went mental at him, Huth had to drag him away. Oh well, see ya at Twatford.
Webbo Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I really didn't see what Gray offered, he put some average crosses in, I would have preferred Albrighton to stay on I didn't understand that substitution either.

You and a selet few others really hold a grudge against him.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Ah well, just means we've got to win Saturday when a draw previously would have been ok. King.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 65% possession and 22 shots, west brom had all the luck tonight
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 I said after beating Norwich that there will be plenty of ups and downs and twists and turns to come this season, not just for us either, looking forward to tomorrow evening now and seeing what unfolds.
biggs Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Some people on here can only find fault. The game was a great match which yeah maybe we deserved to win on the run of play but we didn't. There's mistakes and brilliant plays in all matches and it so happens West Brom got the bounces today. Had one header been a few inches lower.......who'd be complaining.....it was that close twice
Mad Dog Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Sigh; always need a scapegoat. No keeper in the world would have saved that free kick; it was perfect. His positioning was fine. It was a great goal. Leave it at that. We absolutely battered them, second half, that was one of our better performances this season, only the crossbar and an inspired Foster kept us out. That should fill us with infinitely more confidence than the Norwich game. Create that many chances against the next 7 sides that will also being trying to Pulis us, we'll win most of them. Special word to Wes Morgan today. Out of this world for the last 20 minutes.
The_77 Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Disappointed in some of the flak given to Mahrez earlier in this thread. That handball was unfortunate, and the scissor kick was dumb but he was still able to create another chance after that to give City a shot at a winner. He dribbled through players at will to create attacking chances out of nothing, set up King's goal with a genius pass, and very clearly should have gotten Yacob sent off. Not a bad day's work, Riyad.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 No! No No No No No No No! How in the blue hell can Spurs getting three points tomorrow night be a good thing? Jesus Christ, some people. Spurs dropping points tomorrow is the only good result in that game for us. We didn't not win tonight because of the pressure of being top - that had sod all to do with it. The harebrained notions of some people how "this defeat might be a good thing" or "this team going ahead of us suits us" is complete and utter nonsensical bullshit. I would highlight that Spurs have two chances to go top before we play again. But the danger is ignoring Manchester City... I can see them sneaking up un-noticed on the rail. love to be proved wrong, but I think we'll end up finishing third.
daddylonglegs Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Sorry mate, I misread your original post. I thought you had haha no dramas! Maybe he's not as good as 'people' make him out to be, but he's nowhere near as bad as you're making him out to be either! You and a selet few others really hold a grudge against him. Perhaps - but if you can find one controversial or 'grudge worthy' thing I've said in my post then I'll hold my hands up, but surely you can agree that his kicking and the way he supports his defenders isn't great. I completely agree that he can't do anything about either goal. Gardener's free kick would have gone in if two keepers were in goal
Baggie man Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 West Bromwich are the sort of team I hate. Mid table mediocrity who rather time waste and sit deep than try and get the win. What are their aims and objectives exactly? Are you serious.?Mid table mediocrity? 28 games and lcfc are deservedly top of the league. But what about the previous 100 years of tripe? I do sincerely hope leicester win the PL but don't forget your station?

He dribbled through players at will to create attacking chances out of nothing, set up King's goal with a genius pass, and very clearly should have gotten Yacob sent off. Not a bad day's work, Riyad. There would have been people on here slating Drinkwater for taking a shot and not keeping possession had it not been deflected in. If you don't shoot you don't score. And Riyad has done more than enough this season to be allowed to try something like that.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Only saying Kasper was our weakest player tonight and had the most individual errors. Some of these errors are consistent in his game and a weakness, but I still believe he is a good keeper and saves us more times than he costs us. He could have done more to avoid both goals tonight in my opinion though and I don't think anyone can deny he was poor tonight.
lgfualol Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Can't find the "Is Simpson doing enough?" thread. But I thought he was brilliant tonight, and been brilliant all season.
Sunbury Fox Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 So frustrating not to win that. Much the better team. Really fancied us to win tonight, especially after going 2-1 up. But a combo of poor finishing, bad luck and good goalkeeping cost us. What makes it worse is that with Spurs having 2 v hard fixtures coming up and with at least one of Spurs and Arse bound to lose points on Saturday, as well as Man City going to Liverpool, this felt like a massive chance to pull away. But mustn't grumble, long way to go and still in a good position.
whetstonefox Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Felt like a defeat leaving the ground , but it's a point , winning a league is never straightforward , Spurs have a bit of pressure now, West Ham are still in the hunt for Champions League, definitely no gimme and they face Arsenal who simply can't afford to lose. It's going to be gut wrenching at times as the prize is unbelievably huge, it's what sports all about. It's still crazy that it's March and we are top of the Premier League, I keep saying it won't happen but only to avoid potential disappointment, but only 10 games , think we will just go for it and see where we end up Come on you City slickers!
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 1 March 2016 Posted 1 March 2016 Just looked and all the other 3 have to play West Brom at home. Let's wait and see, I reckon they will have a say in how things turn out come the middle of May.
