Pasty1 Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 No one 'Bottled it!'... What a ridiculouse comment!!! We battered them . but they were well organised..... You can always single out individual.... Huth could have done better - but he scored at Spurs..... Mahrez didn't have to overhead kick - but he set up Kingy..... Long way to go in the run in....... The support tonight was Awesome!!!
Thracian Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Mahrez mostly glory hunting for me, believing the stuff written about him his heads in the clouds looking at money A bit unkind. He set up King's goal with an imaginative pass and was forever trying to make something happen despite being closely tethered. Made one specific mistake in trying a totally unnecessary spectacular when he could have headed the ball across the goalmouth for what might have been a golden chance. Mahrez's great strength is his willingness to keep trying things no matter how well or badly his game is going. Another assist last night only emphasised the value of that attitude. There were plenty of other missed opportunities - Shinji's being arguably the worst early on with what was no more than a tap in for any kind of natural striker. Then there were the headers which hit the bar and so much more. Dramatic near misses but both should have been goals and along with Ulloa's failure to tap in at the death just reminded us of how badly we need another instinctive finisher. The game could have ended 7-4 or something ridiculous but we deserved enormous credit for creating so many chances and for trying everything to fashion a win apart from losing some momentum and going a bit negative when 2-1 ahead. Overall though, what a cracking match between two teams which got on with it apart from the one big complaint to the referee for an appalling tackle by Fuchs. Clattenburg for me was excellent, letting a hard-fought game flow when possible and refusing to over dramatise. Another game unbeaten, lots of effort and opportunities, a goal and assist for my MoM Kingy to keep his constant knockers in their place and a few performances which were unusually a little below par including Kasper, Shinji, Fuchs and Huth. Altogether though another valuable point, another game unbeaten and absolutely super entertainment. Nice to hear Pulis compliment our approach and say he'd love to see us win it.
st albans fox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I read the last page and decided that I couldn't bring myself to read the previous 11! we played well. We came back from a goal down we were undone by a sublime free kick. We should have scored a winner. We didn't. Sh*t happens. we go again. No one deserves to be scapegoated. they all put in a shift and a half.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Great performance. Chance after chance after bloody chance. It will be such a shame if the reason we don't finish as Champions is because we didn't acquire that second top striker in January. A clinical finisher would have put the game to bed last night and Shinji isn't that I'm afraid. That said, who knows if anyone was available in the window? And we go on having played very well.
HighPeakFox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 No point 'what iffing' - it is as it is. I love the team as they are, nobody is perfect.
GaelicFox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Just watched the whole game again Was a cracking game Bit of luck 3 points So excited for the last 10 games now Starting at Watford Saturday
Guest ttfn Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 looks like west brom are the new arsenal on here . Find it hard to slate them myself if you play negative, not that I thought they did esp compared to Norwich who many "felt sorry for" mainly because we ended up beating them, and still manage to score two goals then can't say fairer than that. Embarrassing really we fell the need to take dropping points out on the opposition, one sad thing about this season as I've said before is some of our support have really developed top four arrogance. I thought we were brilliant, could easily of won but that's football, play like that I doubt every other side will be able to combine good defending luck and a sublime free kick to take points off us, on to the next one. My thoughts exactly. Thought West Brom were pretty enterprising although that may have something to do with the fact that I wasn't expecting them to fancy crossing half way at all.
Eastwellfox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Not too upset. They boys gave it their all and were unlucky not to get all three. WBA had two chances and took them. On to the next one. summed it up really
RowlattsFox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Ranieri was a little slow with the subs Saturday but was maybe too quick with them last night. We were playing really well and the subs slowed the momentum down.

Let's be honest, is there a worse striker in the league in terms of shooting with feet? The one he tried from the edge of the box was laughable. The flick over the bar was a sitter. And it's hardly a one off..
Raj Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Great game. On the whole we were brill and some lovely interplay. On another day we'd have had that 4/5-2 Maybe it's 1 point gained if The hammers do the yids tonight Any folk hammering any of our team need a reality check
Fox Ulike Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Ranieri was a little slow with the subs Saturday but was maybe too quick with them last night. We were playing really well and the subs slowed the momentum down. Agreed. Was very surprised when he subbed Albrighton... He seemed our best chance of creating the winner. We ended up with Gray out wide and he just did not seem able to get into the pace of the game.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 The reality is we were unlucky last night and poor on Saturday,if football was to be fair the points haul would/should probably be the same. Anyone who's watched the game for any length of time knows she's a cruel mistress at times and my word there will be twists and turns. Personally I fancy the Ammers to turn Spuds over and then Spuds draw with Arse. Yes all results are possible, as we know, yet it wouldn't surprise me if we were 3-5 points clear at 7.00 pm Saturday night, time will tell. COYB

COYB West Ham is not an easy place to go at present and under lights the place catches fire , I expect West Ham to do is a favour and is to be 2-3 points clear in morning is what I'm thinking

Spuds next 2 games are horrendously tough and it will be interesting to see what they're made of in a pressure cooker situation. A wounded Arsenal at the Lane could surprise too!
justfoxes Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Keep your heads up lads it was a pretty decent performance against a west Brom side who have found a bit of form pity we always get that ! But the spuds need to win tonight and they have a pretty tough game against West Ham who won't roll over for them ! Everyone is saying about our so called bubble bursting but that's just fine we've been top for a while now and I'm so proud of our lads and Claudio defying all the odds against the so called big boys and beating them at there own game ! But as Claudio says its spuds title to lose they slip up tonight and were 3 points in front I still believe we can do this , I'd love us to win the title but second or third is no underachievement and not a failiure because who hand on heart would have thought we would have such a successful season as we have had ? This has to be the best time supporting the club we love and adore and hold to our hearts with passion but whatever happens come may I am so proud of Claudio and our Leicester City side that has shown grit determination heart togetherness and quality some people scoffed at the hashtag but our lads have truly been #FEARLESS this season long may it last and bring us what we truly deserve The Premier League Trophy !! Onwards and upwards and in King Claudio we trust !!
kingcarr21 Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I thought it was a cracking game of football. Bit of credit to West Brom. I expected them to sit back all game but their first goal brought them out their shell a bit. We were the better side overall and made lots of chances, on another day we would have scored 4 or 5 but it wasn't to be. It happens. I expected a frustrating draw and that's how it ended up but I thought it would be 0-0 not 2-2 and very entertaining. Proud of our players tonight they all put a shift in. Their first goal was a bit sloppy on our part. Equaliser took a wicked deflection so we got a little luck. What a touch from Mahrez for King to score. I said he wouldn't let us down and I also said King would score. Fair play to West Brom that free kick was top draw. One of those you just have to nod your head in acknowledgement. In the end we should have won but it wasn't to be. Its still another point and now the balls in Spurs court to go and win (which I don't think they will) and if they do win and go top then who cares. The league will not be won/lost based on this week. Still 10 games to go. 30 points is a hell of a lot to play for. Many more twist and turns yet in this thrilling season. Onto Watford
ealingfox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Lot of petulance in this thread which I'm glad wasn't the case in the stands last night. We weren't going to win every game of the run-in. We can't blame them for not having the perfect squad etc. Okazaki is a concern admittedly, this has gone a bit far now. 0 goals at home all season is Jozy Altdore stuff. It's still a point onto the total and a good time to drop points with the games Spurs have.
Nod.E Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 FoxesTalk once again proving it knows nothing about Goalkeeping. No keeper is saving that free kick.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Let's be honest, is there a worse striker in the league in terms of shooting with feet? The one he tried from the edge of the box was laughable. The flick over the bar was a sitter. And it's hardly a one off.. No, don't get me wrong here. I'm a big fan of Shinji. I love his work rate and commitment but I thought last night if only this team had that second striker with a bit of real quality and composure we'd have been out of sight against a West Brom side who were holding on for grim death. Oh well..we'll get one in the summer I think.
Drew Peacock Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 I didn't want to talk to anyone on the way home last night and punished myself by watching match choice on Sky when I got home. Watched that last second chance about 20 times and feel sick this morning. Why is this? Last year we were bottom of the league and this season we go into the last 10 games top, or 2nd only on goal difference. Expectations change I guess, but when you reflect it is nothing short of astonishing. I thought the team played with massive heart last night and we're still in a great position. I just wish I didn't feel so bad for a couple of days after not winning!
dylanlegend Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Don't get all the slating for Mahrez. If he'd pulled that back the keeper of their 2 defenders could have easily cleared the ball, think he was justified to go for it to be honest, he looked dangerous all night
AjcW Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 All the Mahrez abuse madness. Exactly as above, he'd have had to control that first to knock it back in and it more than likely would have been cleared by a very very organised defence. He was centimetres away from one of the best assists & goals in the same game, he showed some great link up play on both the right and left (that bit where schlupp flew past him and he played him in was a joy!) I said it a few pages earlier and i'll say it again... that Free Kick is all that made the difference yesterday, they weren't going to score any other way in the second half!
Birmingham fox Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Woke up devastated this morning. Genuinely mixed emotions because thought that was our best home performance this season. If we had won 5 nobody could have said it wasn't deserved. Can't help thinking was a massive 2 points dropped with spurs having a tough game tonight and the cockneys playing each other Saturday. We could have gone clear. So pleased with how we kept trying to play while chasing the game and not resorting to hoof ball
shen Posted 2 March 2016 Posted 2 March 2016 Don't get all the slating for Mahrez. If he'd pulled that back the keeper of their 2 defenders could have easily cleared the ball, think he was justified to go for it to be honest, he looked dangerous all night He could have headed it across goal beyond their keeper's or defender's reach. Ulloa and King were unmarked at the far post. But I can understand he went for it himself, which overall I'm OK with. After all, Vardy took an audacious shot with Okazaki being unmarked in the middle and it paid off!
