SystonFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I'm in menorca for this. Great idea if I was in the shire I would attend
Guest ttfn Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 If we could win the league that day I reckon they could sell out the whole stadium.
ScouseFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 why would you want to pay to sit in a ground where you pay ridic amounts for beer (would they even let you drink it from your seat?) when you can watch the exact same tv in a pub, for free, with nicer beer cheaper prices and no rules? don't get it?
joedawg Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Imagine everyone in the stands with a pie and a pint on a sunny day at the kp watching us rout Chelsea, it'd be dreamland
fuchsntf Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Just go for it...I live in Germany, if the weekend is free (son buying house), Leicester city, the club, The PL, a TV company would be up for it. Open up the ground, Stalls, real local shire vendors outside the ground. All foods on offer A stage for live music, for after game celebrations. With drink and food on offer until the end. Finishing with fireworks, maybe with team and management making an appearance to celebrate with fans. If there was a real high request, they could put a big screen in the ground, and 2 smaller ones outside. Open the KP area for the celebration of all celebrations. God its possible, if we have won the title, to make this a top Event Money for club, council, not overpriced stalls, then for vendors, Maybe to be donated to a true city charity cause.Obviously the stall guy, will need a turnover, could over price, but not greedily.Radio leicester interviewing fans. Local ground pubs to be invited to take part.Even open the business boxes, so these people could set up their own packages..A real opportunity for the whole/all the parts of 'The City' and 'The Club' to have a great seasons closure. Even get Englebert Humperdink, Sam Bailey, Showwaddywaddy, Dig up..no, no.. just an actor to play King Richard. Then Rachel Riley honour guest, to do a mock countdown 1st dressed as the Mascot. Then Lineker do a Match of the day, with Lawrenceson, and Shearer. Interviewing Claudio.back scenes showing effergys of the gillette super saturday panel. Nice finish of the day..About midnight.
Foxy1984 Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I think this is a really fantastic idea. Who knows the appropriate email contact at the club for us to email? I think sky would go along with it just charge which is fine as we'd all pay to go in. I would suggest Jim as a possible contact. Try Fanzone@@lcfc.co.uk
Wymsey Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 It's a good idea. But it needs to be noted that not all sides of the ground can be open, if the ground had 1/2 beam backs on opposite sides, for H&S reasons. Would be better if there was a big beam-back in the City Centre somewhere. I used to love the old beam backs. I've no idea why they didn't become more popular. I'm in. Broadcasting rights by BT Sport/Sky I'd imagine.
ceredigion Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Living in Wales, I'll definitely be returning to Leicester to watch the Chelsea game in a city centre pub if we find ourselves needing a win or a draw, just to experience it all at first hand. It'll be a once in a lifetime opportunity. On the other hand, the title race might be over before we get to the Chelsea game.
kingcarr21 Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Stick a big screen on Victoria park. Everyone buy crates of beer and bottles of champagne and party for a week
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Why would he do that? He'd be shooting himself in the foot, his listening figures would be down. No fcker is going to be listening to prrrrick piss himself on the last day anyway, if it's on TV we are all going to watch lets be realistic.
Bayfox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 If I can't get tickets I'll be in London going nuts in a pub 3 of my mates are already in same boat as things stand, they have paid for trains whilst they are relatively cheap and as yet have no way of match tickets.
kingcarr21 Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Is it just me that finds wanting to watch the game in London without tickets weird? Surely if you cant get in the stadium then the place to be is in Leicester where it will be party central
Biggus Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I remember in Germany a few years ago you could take your sofa to the ground. What a great idea!!! This was Union Berlin
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Would be decent. Seeing that it's not technically live football would normal ground regulations apply? IE would I be allowed to stand up with a beer in the stand?
Elsie Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Personally, if it is down to the last game than I WILL be travelling to London and even though I couldn't get into the game, there would be plenty of Chelski fans leaving so I would hope to be able to get into see any presentation. Maybe, just maybe you could find a steward with a heart... But the idea of the game being shown at the KP on big screens is a very good one. We have to face the fact we are in a one off situation and at 48yrs old I know I will never experience this again. Our owners have been brilliant for the supporters and I would think they'll know there is an appetite to watch the game end masse. Sure, you could watch it at home or in a pub surrounded by Man Utd fans that have never been to Old Trafford but being in a crowd of like minded individuals is what makes the game so special. The KP could be absolutely rocking ... and just imagine the celebration if they were to arrive back with the trophy. Although thinking about it, just HTF is the coach going to make it from the M1 to the KP as the streets would be rammed! They'd either have to be shuttled in by chopper or come in on the canal! Can't believe we're even considering this. What a strange but great time to be a LCFC fan.
CrunchyNut Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Silly question but how do I post pictures in here? I have a reply from the Leicester mercury
footballfox Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Foxes will touch the trophy 2 games before last game, I believe.
AjcW Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Silly question but how do I post pictures in here? I have a reply from the Leicester mercury Upload it to an image hosting site and copy the link. Or if you put it on your FB just copy the image link and paste it into the little image icon
Lesteban Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Wasn't it the case when Chelsea won the league early last year that the Prem made them wait until the last game to collect the trophy and get a guard of honour etc? I would imagine it would be the same here for us providing we keep going as we are. This would be a great alternative to those of us who stand no chance of getting an away ticket. I'm currently considering whether or not it's worth shelling out big-time on a ticket swapping site, minimum price is about £160, but it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Imagine the look on Claudio's face if/when he receives a guard of honour from Stamford Bridge.
ramboacdc Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 i miss beambacks! bet they wouldn't let them do it again!
Guy Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Could well be shaping up to be last season's Champions handing over their trophy to this season's Champions on their own patch! You couldn't make it up if so!
