MOT passed, the garage obvious didn’t detect the fault as the light wasn’t on during the MOT. Now to see if the light still comes on if I drive a bit further…

And a few days later after the MOT the light is still coming on and off. No idea what to do now lol

I think I may give up and look for a new car

Get the code read. It's all guesswork if you don't.

Trade it in with me, as long as the light is off

Just bought a Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI VRS for a sales car, sick of driving around in my missus car all over the midlands.

Well happy with it, just need to upgrade the work whip now, the old caddy is tired, so I’ll probably look at a Renault trafic or Vito, I could possibly go smaller as I don’t need rear seats now I have the Octavia.

You let me down on a bit to drill tiles with.

Now you've bought a new motor and looking at another one without speaking to me.

Have I offended you? Like, is there something I've really done to really piss you off?

I thought we were mates lol

I'm obviously joking.

But we do still have a 0% finance event on until Sunday!!!!

Shameless plug.

Sorry @Strokes, you nob :P

T's&C's around it, but basically, we'll offer you 4.9% over 5 years on an HP.

That is dirt cheap for car finance.

I've explained the benefits of car finance over a personal loan before.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

Can't blame a guy for trying :P

Between 7 to 10k

No specific features

Id like to keep the miles and age as low as possible, but i guess with a hybrid the bsttery condition is more important

Really struggling mate, been looking.

Our cheapest hybrid is about 12k and its only a little thing.

I'll keep searching.

Don't think you'll get anything that much from a dealer.

But if you're tempted to get more value by buying privately, please be careful. More than happy to run an HPI check for you to make sure it's not dodgy.

Same goes for anyone else.

If you're buying privately or wherever, I'm happy to run the HPI to make sure it's clean.

Better if you buy from me though:D:huh:

To make that clear, an HPI check makes sure the car isn't written off, on a police watch list, hasn't been written off...basically nothing dodgy with it.

It also gives me a value, so if anyone is thinking of changing, I can tell you if you're in equity. (You probably are right now)

So, especially if you want a new Peugeot, oh my god, you are in dreamland right now!

I'll still do you a good deal on a second hand motor though! Maybe :D

Sorry mate, it was a bit spontaneous really. I’ve been looking for a dual liner van van for ages but they just go so quick.

I was waiting around for a customer and seen the car in a garage.

I couldn’t resist it

no worries tom, exactly same as my experience so far (any outlanders under 12k had huge mileage - 90k plus)

Got a massive bill today to get my BMW 1 Series Coupe Exclusive Edition through an MOT and service. It failed on various items such as corroded break pipes, suspension arms/bushes etc and all in costing over £900! This on top of paying over £700 a few weeks ago to replace drive shafts and DSC sensors. It's only done 57k (7k in past 2 years) miles although 62 reg. Its a dirty diesel.

It's a cracking and fun little car but do i stick with it or cut my loses?

If I trade it I'd like to go EV but not much use when I live 140 miles away from the KP. Probably OK one way but would need to find somewhere to charge it whilst the match is on to get home.

Decisions.

If you're travelling 100 miles then I assume you're stopping for a toilet/drinks break?

That's the time you stick it on a Rapid charger for 20-30 mins. Do that both ways and it should get you there and back.

That's true but it's the 'should' bit that concerns me especially during the cold, dark winter nights.

It depends on the range of the vehicle really.

20 mins rapid charging should add about 50-60 miles. So as long as the range is over 200 you will be fine.

An EV does take a little bit more planning. But I'm actually coming round to the idea of them, after being very sceptical.

As mentioned, on a fast charge, even one of the Peugeot's we sell go from 0% to 80% in 30 minutes (the last 20% is slow charge to protect the battery life)

@Spudulike I've got a few brand new ones in stock right now!

The government really aren't doing enough for the infrastructure though.

Some countries have roads that'll charge your vehicle as it drives. The M1 has been having roadworks for about 3 years in Northamptonshire to change it to a smart motorway, that's worked out well

This country is reactive, not proactive, its going to take some time for EV's to be accessible and practical for all.

It's just the initial cost stopping me from going electric. Can't really afford the 20-odd grand for even the cheapest EV at the moment. The extra fifteen quid it cost me to fill up my car last week has really begun to make me seriously look in that direction, though.

Would really be interested in the Dacia Spring, should they make the decision to sell it in the UK.

Read an article earlier saying EV's will cost the same as a normal combustion engine within 3 years.

Possibly.

Governments aren't making it easy.

But...fuel costs are roughly half the price. Diesel will cost you around 14p a mile, electric will cost you 6p a mile.

Give or take, depending on cost of KwH and how you drive.

The strangest thing for me is the gears. @The Bearis driving the king of electric cars right now, I've had a few hours in a Peugeot 208...

They don't have gears. It's unreal. Takes some getting used to.

When I worked at my old place, I loved driving an auto BMW. Best gearbox on the market, the kickdown on that 8 speed gearbox is AWESOME!!!!

EV's don't have gears, just a single drive motor. So strange.

If you put your foot down, it'll go, but it doesn't feel as good as a combustion engine.

Takes some getting used to, no change as you pull off from lights.

Easier to sell cars in Canada then? Can you get me a visa?

Wouldn't stand a chance over there with Peugeot, they don't even attempt the North American market lol

Stellantis, which owns Peugeot, along with a lot of other brands, knows what its doing though.

@Jattdoggmaybe I could sort you out to drive the only brand new Peugeot in North America? lol

Or I'd just do my job over there? In the UK, I actually find out about my customers and get a car to suit driving style and stuff.

Canada..."Hey, you want a new car? Yeah, this does snow and bears and shit" :P

This sounds very passive aggressive, but isnt meant to!

Different markets. Although I'd quite happily sell a Ford Ranger/Ford Edge to everyone around here 😉

The 8 speed Steptronic gearbox is a dream in any of the three drive modes, Eco, Comfort or Sport but particularly when you boot it in Sport and suddenly whoosh. :D

anyone looked into combustion to electric car conversions:

https://www.newelectric.nl/

theres a few of these companies knocking around, and could aid the transition with reduced prices and ensuring the cars people have bought (and all the emissions for its production) arent just wasted
