I've had a few 'accidents' like that but with motorbikes...

Please tell me you got the Mach-E GT and not a petrol?

I believe its part of what connects the front roll bar to the suspension.

Just had a look and they cost less than £20. Will probably take less than an hour to change too. Garages are a ripoff.

The part was £14.95 plus VAT. Most of the bill was all the bits associated with the full service, the labour for the whole lot was only £125.

I shouldn't moan, I hear people moaning about getting their premium brand cars serviced and it costs six or seven hundred quid and there's not really anything wrong with them

Yeah service + mot is a good £150. Decent price all in.

Has Ulez led to a decrease in the price of second hand diesel cars?

Short answer...No.

The used market is through the roof.

In the past few months its been ridiculous and no signs of stopping.

I read an article on the BBC the other day about it, can't find it now, but it listed the cars that had risen the most.

Basically, if you bought a VW Golf, or one of the most popular cars in the country, you could probably sell it for what you paid for it 2 years ago.

The vast majority of you on here know I sell cars for a living.

Tried to find a few of you on here a new car, with little success so far (see post above about used car market)!

My boss has told me today, if any of you buy off me, we'll do our best to give you a good saving, but that is proving difficult.

We will however give all of you free Diamondbrite, our paint and interior protection.

I've slagged it off before, simply because of the price of it and the mark up we make on it.

It is a good product, never doubted that, but at £299 it is expensive.

If anyone on here buys from me, we'll throw it in for free

Keen to sort out as many of you as I can.

Tom couldn't find me my car, in the spec I wanted anyway, as it's rarer than unicorn shit.

But he did try and helped me out massively along the way. Thanks to his help and advice I managed to grab a great deal on the car I wanted. I reckon if I wanted to sell it now (just 2 months later) I could make at least £2-3k profit on it. That's how good the deal was I got and that was thanks to Tom's wisdom.

If I'm in the market for another car in future, he'd be my first port of call 👍

Thanks mate, really appreciate that.

I'd like to sell you one first and foremost, but if I can't, always happy to offer advice to help you get the deal.

Your car didn't come with the Jamie Vardy mannequin that I promised though lol

Thank you for that though, I've bank transferred the £50 lol

How is the car anyway? Everything you wanted?

I still have a look out of curiosity, only seen 1 petrol auto and it wasn't a great spec.

That 8 speed gearbox is awesome though, right?

Cars incredible! I have no complaints at all.

Ok it's a BMW and service and parts may be a bit more but I got £6k cheaper than a second hand basic spec peugeot 5008. (Sorry I know you sell these, lovely cars but not quite as nice as a top of the range beamer).

5008's are almost as rare as your car.

If I find a 68 plate 5008, I'm selling it for the same price as a brand new one, mainly because you won't get the new one until about next May.

It's mental. You got an absolute steal and I'm pleased for you.

You and someone else in particular on here are/were looking for something very specific. The great thing is you're both realistic, have trawled AutoTrader yourselves and know that there is literally nothing about.

Thanks for your patience and giving me a chance to find you something

Bristol Street Motors doing a 0% interest event starting next week.

On all used cars, has to be on HP, not PCP.

Not as simple as it sounds, you can borrow a certain amount over so many months at 0%, so chances are you'll end up with a hybrid deal. Some at 0% and some at a higher rate. Still damn cheap for used car finance though.

If anyone is in the market, give me a shout, either in here, or on a PM.

It's only around for a week or so.

Even if you see something at another branch to me, I'll try to get it in to my branch so you have the please of dealing with me lol And a free Diamondbrite!

My Audi A3 keeps going into limp mode, MOT is tomorrow so will what the problem is. The light only comes on now and again though :dunno: so it may not even come on during the MOT.

When it started doing it at the start of the year a garage quoted me around £800 for a new EGR Valve and the labour time to change it. So I just decided to stick with it because it wasn’t coming on a lot.

I've considered getting a code reader for my car. You can pick them up for as little as £30 with decent ones around £100 I'm told.

At least you then know what the problem is before you go to the garage and they take the piss.

Izzy is right, it could be something really simple or a horror show. Get onto someone with a code reader to diagnose it and at least you have somewhere to start. Ask on social media or a forum if anyone near you has one and knows how to use it. I would steer away from the cheap ones and unless you have an intention to use regularly, get someone else to do it (plus the cheap ones don't actually do much). There is bound to be someone on here or social media near to you.

I have a good generic one and also the SDD for Jaguar Landrover but I am in Wales.

Is there a warning light like this on because that 's an mot failure so you're going to have to get it fixed.  Have they actually diagnosed an egr valve

If it is, it's normally to do with emissions so could well be EGR (or Lambda Sensor, or injector, or DPF, or...)

Diagnosis is crucial.

I’ve known a faulty filler cap cause an emissions error, but even a cheap code reader will say which sensor has gone, but they won’t tell you if it’s a blocked valve as they only pick up the electrical system. Shame really because I think the egr valve on an A3 is really accessible on the top of the engine and you only have to remove the top cover and air filter cover, remove 3 bolts and either clean it or replace it for about 80 quid. About an hours work if you’re slow.
